Abstract
Description
本出願は、2017年5月15日に出願された米国仮出願第62/506,160号の優先権を主張し、その全体が参照により本明細書に組み入れられる。
実験例
ここで、以下の実施例を参照して本発明を説明する。これらの実施例は、例示のみを目的として提供され、本発明はこれらの実施例に限定されると決して解釈されるべきではなく、本明細書で提供される教示の結果として明らかになるありとあらゆるバリエーションを包含すると解釈されるべきである。
脳震盪を引き起こすと疑われる少なくとも1つの頭部衝撃を持つ16人のアスリート(2人の選手が2回の頭部衝撃;1人の選手が3回の頭部衝撃)および年齢が一致し脳震盪性イベントの履歴がない10人の対照選手についてデータを収集した。
この研究では、新規なデバイスを使用して、脳震盪の結果と思われる頭部衝撃が、非侵襲的測定を使用して検出できる瞬き反射の変化を引き起こしたかどうか、およびそれらの変化が脳震盪性イベントと単なる身体活動を区別できるかどうか、すなわちこのアプローチがフィールド側の診断ツールとしての可能性を秘めているかどうかを評価した。結果は、頭部衝撃を経験したアスリートは、アクティブ対照と比較して、個々の潜時が減少し、潜時差が増加し、瞼可動域が大きくなり、損傷後の振動が増加したことを示している。端的に言えば、脳震盪を起こしたアスリートはより早く瞬きを始め、左右の瞼運動のタイミングに大きな不一致があり、緊張性瞼位置がより開いており、瞬き反応で過剰興奮性を示した。
Claims (21)
- 神経機能障害に応じて生成された目に関連する変化を検出する方法であって:
被験者の神経機能障害が疑われる場合、被験者に非自発的な瞬き反応を引き起こすために、少なくとも1つの刺激器を使用して被験者の少なくとも1つの顔面領域を刺激するステップ;
刺激ステップから生じる片目または両目からの応答の少なくとも1つのパラメータを測定するステップ;および
少なくとも1つのパラメータに関連する情報を表示するステップ;
を含む、前記方法。 - 少なくとも1つのパラメータが、被験者の片目または両目の個々の潜時を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 少なくとも1つのパラメータが、被験者の両目間の潜時差を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 少なくとも1つのパラメータが、被験者の片目または両目の振動のカウントを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 少なくとも1つのパラメータが、被験者の片目または両目の緊張性瞼位置の測定を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 少なくとも1つのパラメータが、個々の潜時、潜時差、振動の変化、および緊張性瞼位置の変化を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。

少なくとも1つのパラメータに基づいて、被験者が軽度の外傷性脳損傷を患っているかどうかを判断するステップ;および
被験者が軽度の外傷性脳損傷を患っているかどうかを示すステップ;

ここで、少なくとも1つのパラメータは、被験者の片目または両目での個々の潜時、潜時差、振動の変化、および緊張性瞼位置の変化を測定することを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 刺激を目に与えて目に関連するパラメータを検出するための装置であって、
被験者の片目または両目に刺激を与える少なくとも1つの刺激器;
片目または両目のパラメータを検出するように構成されたセンサ;および
少なくとも1つの刺激器を制御し、センサによって検出された情報を表示するように構成されたユーザーインターフェイス;
を含む、前記装置。 - 少なくとも1つの刺激器が、第1ユニットおよび第2ユニットを含み、各ユニットは、被験者の別々の目を刺激するように配置される、請求項14に記載の装置。

非一時的なコンピュータ可読媒体であって、プロセッサによって実行されると、以下:
ユーザーインターフェイスからコマンドを受信して、測定を開始するステップ、
少なくとも1つの刺激器を使用して被験者の片目または両目を刺激し、被験者に非自発的な反応を引き起こすステップ、
刺激ステップから生じる片目または両目からの応答の少なくとも1つのパラメータを測定するステップ、および
少なくとも1つのパラメータに関連する情報をユーザーインターフェイスに表示するステップ
を含むステップを実行する命令が格納された、前記非一時的なコンピュータ可読媒体;
を含む、前記システム。 - 命令が、少なくとも1つのパラメータを少なくとも1つのベースラインパラメータと比較するステップをさらに含む、請求項19に記載のシステム。
