本発明で利用されるブロックコポリマーは、アクリルアミド(「AAM」)、ジメチルアクリルアミド(「DMAA」)、n−アルキルアクリレート(「AA」)、及びこれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択されるモノマーを含むブロックコポリマーであり、このようなブロックコポリマーが、以下の式を有し、

本発明の消費者製品組成物は、マイクロカプセル、好ましくは複数のマイクロカプセルを更に含む。マイクロカプセルは、シェル材料内に配置されているコア材料を封入するシェル材料を含む。シェル材料は、ポリアクリレートポリマーを含み、コア材料は、効果剤を含む。マイクロカプセルは、その上にブロックコポリマーが配置されている外側表面を有する。
シェル材料は、ポリアクリレートポリマーを含む。シェル材料は、シェル材料の約50重量%〜約100重量%、より好ましくは約70重量%〜約100重量%、より好ましくは約80重量%〜約100重量%のポリアクリレートポリマーを含むことができる。

マイクロカプセルのシェル材料内に配置されているコア材料は、効果剤を含む。コア材料は、任意選択的に、分配変性剤を更に含んでもよい。
本発明のマイクロカプセルのコア材料として有用な効果剤は、一般に25℃で液体形態である。効果剤は、好ましくは香料などの疎水性効果剤である。このような疎水性効果剤は、典型的には油である。
マイクロカプセルのコア材料が香料油などの油であるとき、油に固有の特性は、得られるマイクロカプセルのシェル材料の、油/水界面で確立されるときの透過の量、速度、及び程度を決定することに関与し得る。例えば、コア材料の油が高極性材料を含むとき、このような材料は、モノマー及びポリマーの油/水界面への拡散を低減し得、比較的薄く高度に透過性のポリマーシェル材料をもたらす可能性があり、これは、劣ったマイクロカプセルをもたらし得る。コアの極性を調節するために分配変性剤を組み込むことにより、極性材料の分配係数を変更することができ、より厚い、より安定したマイクロカプセルのシェル材料の確立を可能にする。
本発明のポリアクリレートポリマーを含むシェル材料を含むマイクロカプセルを作製するための好適なプロセスは、米国特許第US9186642号、同第US2011/0269657A1号、同第US9221028号、同第US2011/0268778A1号、及び同第US9162085号に詳細に記載されている。
本発明の消費者製品組成物は、消費者製品補助成分(複数可)を含む。消費者製品補助成分の好適な非限定的な例としては、漂白活性化剤、界面活性剤、ビルダー、キレート剤、移染阻害剤、分散剤、酵素及び酵素安定剤、触媒金属錯体、ポリマー系分散剤、粘土及び汚れ除去/再付着防止剤、増白剤、泡抑制剤、染料、追加の香料、構造弾性化剤、布地柔軟化剤、ヘアコンディショニング剤、担体、ヒドロトロープ、加工助剤、構造剤、フケ防止剤、抗凝集剤、及び/又は顔料、並びにこれらの組み合わせが挙げられる。これらの追加の構成成分の正確な性質及びそれを組み込む濃度は、組成物の物理形態及び使用される作業の性質に依存する。しかしながら、1つ以上の補助材料が存在するとき、このような1つ以上の補助材料は、以下に詳述されるように存在してもよい。以下は、好適な補助材料の非限定的な一覧である。

ヘアコンディショニングプロセスにおいて毛髪上に付着したマイクロカプセルの量を、以下の試験法に従って評価する。
本発明のポリアクリレートマイクロカプセルを含有するヘアコンディショナー製品組成物の臭気性能を、以下の試験法に従って評価する。
(a)0.4ミリリットルのPANTENE PRO−V(登録商標)コンディショナー無香料製品を、くしで梳かし、湿らせ、軽く絞ったヘアピース(IHI、4グラム、長さ8インチ、中程度に傷んだ等級)に塗布する。ヘアピースにミルキングアクションで50〜60ストローク(30秒間)泡立てる。
(b)毛髪を操作することなく、固定シャワーすすぎですすぐ(水温華氏100度、水流1分間当たり1.5ガロン、30秒間、水の硬度1ガロン当たり8グレイン)。すすいだ後、ヘアピースを上から下に指間で1回軽く絞って、余分な水を除去する。
(c)毛髪をラックに吊して放置して、室温で乾燥させる。約3時間後、Primavera Gradeに従ってヘアピースを嗅覚的に等級分けする(0〜100のスケールの強度で、10ポイントの差異は消費者が感知できる)。これを初期のくしで梳かす前の香り強度として記録する。
(d)ヘアピースを3回くしで梳かし、嗅覚的に等級分けし、これを初期のくしで梳かした後の香り強度として記録する。
(e)ヘアピースを周囲条件下(華氏70度及び30%の相対湿度)で24時間放置する。次いで、Primavera Gradeに従って、臭気専門調査会がヘアピースを嗅覚的に等級分けし(0〜100のスケールの強度で、10ポイントの差異は消費者が感知できる)、これを24時間後のくしで梳かす前の嗅覚強度として記録する。ヘアピースを3回くしで梳かし、嗅覚等級をつけ、これを24時間後のくしで梳かした後の嗅覚として記録する。
本発明のポリアクリレートマイクロカプセルを含有する液体布地柔軟化剤製品組成物の臭気性能を、布地試料の上のヘッドスペース内の香料原材料の量を測定する以下の試験法に従って評価する。
(a)布地を、以下の予備処理を介して調製する。綿、ポリエステル、ポリコットン、及び4つの白色テリーコットン布地トレーサー(Warwick Equestから)を含有する2.9±0.1kgのバラスト布地を、60℃の1ガロン当たり2グレイン(gpg)の水を含む、50gの無香料Ariel Sensitive(Nordics)を用いて、Miele(Novotronic W986/Softronic W467/W526/W527/W1614/W1714/W2261)などのドラム式洗濯機又は等価物で、1時間26分サイクル、1600rpmで4回洗浄し、次いで、60℃の2gpgの洗剤を含まない水で1回洗浄した。最後の洗浄後、布地を、Miele Novotronic(T490/T220/T454/T430/T410/T7634)などの熱風吹き出し口を有する5Kgのドラム回転式乾燥機又は等価物で乾燥させ、次いで試験に使用する準備が整う。
(b)次いで、以下の処理を介して布地を処理する。綿、ポリエステル、ポリコットン、及び4つのテリーコットン布地トレーサー(Warwick Equestから)を含有する2.9±0.1kgのバラスト布地を、56分サイクル、1200rpm、洗濯洗剤を含まない40℃の15gpgの水で洗浄して、布地向上剤の評価における干渉を回避する。試験される布地柔軟化剤組成物を、最後のすすぎ開始の5分前に15gpgの硬度を有する15℃の2Lの水に予め希釈し、洗濯機が水を取り込みながらの最後のすすぎに添加する。これは、充填量に対する均質な分配能力を確保し、試験結果のばらつきを最小限に抑えるための要件である。全ての布地を、ヘッドスペース分析の前に、24時間の間、制御温度(25℃)及び湿度(60%)の室内で並べて乾燥させる。
(c)ヘッドスペース分析は、以下のように実施する。上記の方法に従って布地柔軟化剤組成物で処理した4つのテリーコットン布地トレーサーを分析に使用する。5x5cmの一片を、各テリーコットン布地トレーサーの中心からそっと切断し、スプリットレスモードでAgilent DB−5UI30m×0.25×0.25カラム(部品#122−5532UI)を使用して、高速ヘッドスペースガスクロマトグラフィー/質量分析(「GC/MS」)によって分析する。各白色テリーコットン布地を、25mLガラスヘッドスペースバイアルに移す。布地試料を65℃で10分間平衡化させた後、布地の上のヘッドスペースを、23ゲージ50/30UM DVB/CAR/PDMS SPME繊維(Sigma−Aldrich部品#57298−U)を使用して5分間サンプリングする。その後、SPME繊維を、40℃(0.5分)〜270℃(0.25分)の勾配を17℃/分で使用して、GCへとオンラインで熱脱着する。35〜300m/zの分子量を有する香料原材料を、フルスキャンモードで高速GC/MSによって分析する。ヘッドスペース内の香料の量は、nmol/Lとして表し、報告する。
以下の表1の本発明の実施例Cのブロックコポリマーを以下のように作製する。
コポリマーを、以下のようにポリアクリレートマイクロカプセルのコーティングとして使用する。ポリアクリレートマイクロカプセルのスラリーを、44.3%固形分及び31.34%の香料油を有する参照番号PDS040115Bとして、Encapsys(Appleton,Wisconsin,USA)から得る。
実施例Gのブロックコポリマーを、以下のようにポリアクリレートマイクロカプセルのコーティングとして使用する。ポリアクリレートマイクロカプセルのスラリーを、16.28マイクロメートルの体積加重中央粒径、37.24%の固形分、26.35%の合計油(香料及びミリスチン酸イソプロピル)、0.8%のポリビニルアルコール、4.43のpHを有するEncapsys(Appleton、Wisconsin、USA)からの参照番号PDS061814A、及び90:10のコア材料対シェル材料の比を有するマイクロカプセルを入手する。
実施例Gのブロックコポリマーを、以下のようにポリアクリレートマイクロカプセルのコーティングとして使用する。ポリアクリレートマイクロカプセルのスラリーを、16.28マイクロメートルの体積加重中央粒径、37.24%の固形分、26.35%の合計油(香料及びミリスチン酸イソプロピル)、0.8%のポリビニルアルコール、4.43のpHを有するEncapsys(Appleton、Wisconsin、USA)からの参照番号PDS061814A、及び90:10のコア材料対シェル材料の比を有するマイクロカプセルを入手する。
以下は、メラミンホルムアルデヒドマイクロカプセルのコーティングとしてのその使用と比較した、並びにコーティングされていないポリアクリレートマイクロカプセル及びコーティングされていないメラミンホルムアルデヒドマイクロカプセルと比較した、ポリアクリレートマイクロカプセルのコーティングとしての本発明の実施例Gのブロックコポリマーの影響を示している。
