Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an image forming apparatus that forms an image by an electrophotographic method and an image forming management apparatus that manages the image forming apparatus.
In an image forming apparatus that forms an image by an electrophotographic method, a high voltage is used by charging the photoconductor or transferring the image with the transfer apparatus. In such an image forming apparatus, a leak may occur due to a change over time, and conventionally, a leak current (current-voltage conversion) of a part of a high-voltage output has been detected. The leak detection circuit integrates the amount of fluctuation in voltage conversion, activates the signal when a predetermined voltage is reached, and notifies the CPU. When the CPU determines that a leak has occurred, it stops the operation of the device and at the same time displays the target high-voltage output as a code.
The above method has a problem that productivity is lowered because the image forming apparatus is stopped when a leak occurs. On the other hand, in
As described above,
However, if a specific operation mode is prohibited as in the technique of Patent Document 1 (although other modes can be continued), the productivity is lowered. Since the primary transfer and the secondary transfer make contact with the roller shaft (rotating body), leaks often occur due to contact failure due to dust adhesion. Leaks due to defective roller shaft contacts are not leaks that lead to image defects (voltage fluctuations due to them are small). Once it is determined that there is a leak, the device operation is stopped (= serviceman is dispatched). On the other hand, if the leak sensitivity is lowered, the ignition level may not be detected.
The present invention has been made in the context of the above circumstances, and an object of the present invention is to enable proper device operation to be controlled by determining the degree of leakage.

In the above-mentioned image forming apparatus, a high voltage output device having a high voltage output power source is used for image forming. Examples of the high-voltage output power supply include a high-voltage power supply for charging, a high-voltage power supply for primary transfer, and a high-voltage power supply for secondary transfer.
Leakage voltage may occur in high voltage output power supplies. It is preferable that no leak occurs. If noise occurs when a leak occurs in a high-voltage output that does not have an image forming function, for example, if there is a false detection in environmental data sampling, if the feedback value of the high-voltage power supply control that has an image forming function deviates, an image defect will occur. It is necessary to select the device operation.
The outline of the image forming portion is shown in FIG. Carrier recovery has the function of recovering the carriers on the photoconductor with a carrier recovery roller, and the high-voltage output specifications are almost the same as the development bias specifications.
In the fuser shown in FIG. 4, the charge control bias has a function of controlling the amount of charge on the paper surface after the toner is fixed in the fixing.

FIG. 8 shows the cumulative relationship between the fluctuation time and the voltage fluctuation during a predetermined period. In this relationship diagram, the region where the fluctuation time and voltage fluctuation are relatively small is defined as region A, and the region where the fluctuation time and voltage fluctuation are considered to be relatively medium is defined as region B, and the fluctuation time and voltage fluctuation are compared. The large area is defined as the C area. In this embodiment, the A region corresponds to the first predetermined region, the B region corresponds to the second predetermined region, and the C region corresponds to the third predetermined region.
Table 1 shows an example in which the above area is specifically defined. In the present invention, the range of each region is not limited to that shown in the table.
The high-voltage output power supply can be divided into a high-voltage output power supply having an image forming function and a high-voltage output power supply having no image forming function.
Using the example in Table 1, if the calculation result at the high voltage output having the image forming function is the B region, the device operation is stopped. Development bias can be mentioned as a high-pressure output of the target.
When the calculation result at the high voltage output having no image forming function is the B region, the device operation can be continued. The target high voltage output includes a carrier recovery bias.
As described above, different leak degrees can be calculated when the high-voltage power supply output type is a development bias or a carrier recovery bias.
Further, in the high voltage output having an image forming function, the degree of leakage can be determined based on different criteria depending on the type.
At a high voltage output having an image forming function, for example, there is a development bias and a primary transfer bias. The development bias determines the degree of leakage in Table 1, but when the high-voltage output power supply is the primary transfer, the region can be determined according to the criteria shown in Table 2.
Further, in the high voltage output which does not have the image forming function, the degree of leakage can be determined by a different standard depending on the type.
High-voltage outputs that do not have an image forming function include, for example, a carrier recovery bias and a charge control bias. Table 1 can be used for the carrier recovery bias (specs are almost the same as the development bias), and Table 2 can be used for the charge control bias (specs are almost the same as the primary transfer bias) to determine the region in the leak degree determination. it can.
In image formation, there is an image quality priority mode as an operation mode that eliminates image defects as much as possible, and a speed priority mode as an operation mode that wants to end JOB by ignoring images (text) and image defects that are difficult to see. Yes, the degree of leakage can be determined by different criteria depending on the difference between these modes.
For example, different device operations may be selected in the image quality priority mode and the speed priority mode as shown in Table 3. At that time, the operation of the device may be different depending on whether it has an image forming function or not.
Further, in the selection of the device operation, the operation may be different in the same device operation. In this example, when continuation is selected as the device operation, as shown in Table 4, the continuation (1) and continuation (2) operations are defined as the continuation operations.
In continuation (1), "continue printing or continue until the end of JOB" is stated, and in continuation (2), "a warning display or a display prompting automatic cleaning is displayed".
Further, as shown in Table 4, when the image forming function is provided, the operation is stopped at the same time as the display of the target high voltage output information in both the image quality priority mode and the speed priority mode, and when the image forming function is not provided, In the image quality priority mode, the operation may be stopped at the same time as the display of the target high-voltage output information.
As described above, the invention of the present application has been described based on the above-described embodiment, but the present invention is not limited to the contents of the above-described embodiment, and the invention of the present application is not limited to the contents of the above-described embodiment.
