Abstract
Description
The present disclosure relates to an optical distance measuring device.
The optical distance measuring device described in Patent Document 1 adds pulse signals output from a SPAD (single photon avalanche diode) array in response to incidence of reflected light from an object by an adder, and sets a predetermined time. A histogram is generated by recording the added value for each interval. Then, the peak having the maximum frequency is detected from the histogram, and the distance to the object is calculated using the time of occurrence of the peak.
As a result of earnest studies for improving the measurement accuracy of the optical distance measuring apparatus, the inventors of the present application have found that the time of occurrence of a peak appearing on the histogram varies depending on the incident intensity of light. Based on this knowledge, when the present inventors calculate the distance to the object using the peak occurrence time, the calculation result of the distance also changes with the change of the incident intensity of light, and the measurement accuracy decreases. Found a challenge.
The present disclosure can be realized as the following modes.
According to an aspect of the present disclosure, an optical distance measuring device (10) is provided. This optical distance measuring device is a light source (20) for irradiating an object with light having a first pulse width, and a pulse signal indicating that light reflected from the object is incident, and the first pulse width is A light receiving element (31) that outputs a pulse signal having a second pulse width that is the above width, and a frequency corresponding to the number of pulse signals output from the light receiving element are recorded at predetermined time intervals. A histogram generation unit (50) that generates a histogram, a peak detection unit (60) that detects a peak shape from the histogram, and a distance calculation unit that calculates the distance to the object using the time corresponding to the peak shape. (70) and are provided.
According to the control device of this aspect, it is possible to accurately measure the distance to the object regardless of the intensity of light incident on the light receiving element.
The present disclosure can be realized in various forms other than the optical distance measuring device. For example, it can be implemented in the form of an optical distance measuring method, a vehicle equipped with the optical distance measuring device, a control method for controlling the optical distance measuring device, or the like.
A. First embodiment:
As illustrated in FIG. 1, an optical
The
受光要素31のことをSPAD(single photon avalanche diode)ともいう。
The light
The
TOF(TOF:Time Of Flight)ともいう。
The
The peak detection unit 60 (FIG. 1) detects the end point tpk (FIG. 3) of the peak shape from the histogram. In this embodiment, the peak means a class having a frequency exceeding a predetermined threshold. The peak shape is an approximately mountain-like shape and is a set of adjacent peaks. The end point tpk of the peak shape is, as shown in FIG. 3, the position of the class immediately before the frequency that increases with time decreases in the peak shape.
The
D=(Δt×c)/2 ・・・式(1) D=(Δt×c)/2...Equation (1)
FIG. 4 shows an example in which the histogram is generated by changing the intensity of light incident on the light receiving
In the present embodiment, as shown in FIG. 3, the distance D is calculated based on the time tin obtained by subtracting the time corresponding to the second pulse width PW2 from the end point tpk of the peak shape. As described above, the second pulse width PW2 of the pulse signal output from the
B. Second embodiment:
In the above embodiment, as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, an example in which one peak shape appears in the histogram has been described. However, as shown in FIG. 5, a plurality of peak shapes may appear in the histogram due to the influence of ambient light or the like. Therefore, in the second embodiment, the
C. Third embodiment:
In the above embodiment, the
D. Fourth Embodiment:
The optical
FIG. 7 shows a first mode of the adjusting section 80. The adjustment unit 80a illustrated in FIG. 7 adjusts the second pulse width PW2 by changing the resistance value Rq of the quenching resistor connected to the light receiving element (avalanche photodiode 32) included in the
FIG. 8 shows the relationship between the input voltage and the output voltage of the
FIG. 9 shows a second mode of the adjusting section 80. The adjustment unit 80b illustrated in FIG. 9 changes the threshold value to be compared with the signal output from the light receiving element (avalanche photodiode 32) included in the
FIG. 10 shows a third aspect of the adjusting unit 80. The adjustment unit 80c shown in FIG. 10 includes a pulse
In the present embodiment, the adjusting unit 80 may be configured by combining two or more of the first adjusting unit 80a, the second adjusting unit 80b, and the third adjusting unit 80c. That is, the adjustment unit 80 adjusts two or more of the quenching resistance of the
