本発明者らは、上記課題を解決するために鋭意研究したところ、His−Lys(ヒスチジン−リジン)のアミノ酸配列を含むペプチド又はその塩が、唾液腺及び肺の萎縮又は機能低下を抑制又は回復させる作用を有することを見出した。His−Lysのアミノ酸配列を含むペプチドが、唾液腺等の臓器の萎縮又は機能低下を抑制又は回復させる作用を有することは、これまで報告されていない。本発明者らは、かかる知見に基づいて、さらに研究を行って本発明を完成させた。
