Claims (17)
- 各流体分注装置が少なくとも1つのノズルを含む、複数の流体分注装置と、
前記複数の流体分注装置に連通され、前記複数の流体分注装置に流体を供給する、少なくとも1つのリザーバと、
各接触パッドが前記複数の流体分注装置を駆動するように前記複数の流体分注装置に電気的に接続されている、接触パッドアレイと、
前記複数の流体分注装置、少なくとも1つのリザーバ、及び接触パッドアレイのうちの少なくとも1つを搭載する、単一のモノリシックキャリア構造と
を含むデジタル分注装置。 - 前記デジタル分注装置の流体分注装置の全てが、前記単一のモノリシックキャリア構造に搭載されている、請求項1に記載のデジタル分注装置。
- 相互接続トレースが、各単一機能接触パッドを前記複数の流体分注装置に接続し、前記相互接続トレースが、前記モノリシック単一キャリア構造上に設けられている、請求項1に記載のデジタル分注装置。
- 前記モノリシックキャリア構造は、少なくとも1つのモノリシックキャリア構造であり、平板状であり、全ての前記流体分注装置、全てのリザーバ、及び全ての接触パッドアレイのうちの少なくとも2つを搭載している、請求項1に記載のデジタル分注装置。
- 前記接触パッドが、1つの平面内に延在し、
前記複数の流体分注装置の前記ノズルアレイが、1つの平面内に延在し、
前記少なくとも1つのリザーバが、1つの平面を通って延在し、
前記電気トレースの長さの大部分が、1つの平面内に延在し、
前記平面は、互いに平行に延在している、請求項4に記載の概ね平板状のデジタル分注装置。 - 前記流体分注装置は、単一のモノリシックキャリア構造に埋め込まれている、請求項1に記載のデジタル分注装置。
- 前記少なくとも1つのリザーバは、前記モノリシックキャリア構造の表面によって規定され、充填されたときに、前記キャリア構造が前記流体と直接接触して前記流体を外部ソースから受け取り、前記流体を前記流体分注装置に誘導するように構成されている、請求項1に記載のデジタル分注装置。
- 第1のモノリシックキャリア構造は、その中に埋め込まれた前記複数の流体分注装置を有し、
前記単一のモノリシックキャリアを通して、電気トレースが、前記複数の流体分注装置に接続され、
第2のモノリシックキャリアは、(i)接触パッドアレイ及び(ii)複数のリザーバのうちの少なくとも一方を含む、請求項1に記載のデジタル分注装置。 - 前記第2のモノリシックキャリアは、前記少なくとも1つの接触パッドアレイを含み、前記複数のリザーバを規定する第3のモノリシックキャリアを含む、請求項8に記載のデジタル分注装置。
- 前記少なくとも1つのリザーバを規定する少なくとも1つの切り欠きと、
前記接触パッドアレイと、
前記接触パッドアレイ及び流体分注装置に接続された電気配線と
を含む、単一のモノリシックキャリアを含む、請求項1に記載のデジタル分注装置。 - 前記複数の流体分注デバイスを規定する少なくとも1つのダイを含み、前記ダイは、前記キャリア構造の前記リザーバとは反対の側に設けられ、
前記キャリア構造を貫通して前記接触パッドアレイを前記複数の流体分注装置に接続するように、相互接続トレースが設けられている、請求項1に記載のデジタル分注装置。 - 前記モノリシックキャリアは、前記リザーバと前記ダイとの間に流体経路を形成し、動作中に前記リザーバの下流の流体経路壁が流体と接触し、流体を前記リザーバから前記ダイへ誘導するように構成される、請求項12に記載のデジタル分注装置。
- 複数の流体分注装置と、前記複数の流体分注装置に接続された相互接続トレースとを搭載する、単一のモノリシックキャリア構造と、
前記複数の流体分注装置に連通され、前記複数の流体分注装置に流体を供給する、少なくとも1つのリザーバと、
前記複数の流体分注装置に電気的に接続され、前記流体分注装置を駆動するようにホスト装置電極に接続された少なくとも1つの接触パッドアレイと
を含む、デジタル滴定カセット。 - デジタル滴定カセットを製造する方法であって、
リザーバアレイを有するモノリシックキャリア構造を成形し、
前記モノリシックキャリア構造上に少なくとも1つの接触パッドアレイ及び電気配線を設け、
前記モノリシックキャリア構造に複数の流体分注装置を取り付け、
電気配線をダイにワイヤボンディングすること
を含む方法。 - デジタル滴定カセットを製造する方法であって、
モノリシック化合物キャリア構造の一方の側において前記モノリシック化合物キャリア構造の中に複数の流体分注装置をオーバーモールドし、
前記モノリシック化合物キャリア構造内に流体経路を設け、
前記モノリシックキャリア構造の反対側にリザーバ及び接触パッドアレイを設けること
を含む方法。 - デジタル滴定カセットを製造する方法であって、
リザーバカップを形成するための貫通穴のアレイを有するモノリシックキャリア構造を成形し、
前記モノリシックキャリア構造上に、少なくとも1つの接触パッドアレイ及び電気配線を形成し、
前記貫通穴の隣りに貫通成形バイア(TMV)を形成し、
前記カップに対向して、前記貫通穴と連通するように、流体分注装置を前記貫通穴に取り付け、
前記TMVと流体分注装置とを接続すること
を含む方法。 - 約0.9ミリメートル未満の厚みを有し、流体を分注するための流体アクチュエータを含む、複数の流体分注ダイと、
前記複数の流体分注ダイと前記複数の流体分注ダイに接続された電気配線とを搭載する単一のモノリシックキャリア構造と、
リザーバアレイであって、前記リザーバは、流体を受け取るように上側が開放され、前記流体を前記複数の流体分注ダイに供給するように前記複数の流体分注ダイに連通され、前記流体経路の一部が、前記キャリア構造によって形成されている、リザーバアレイと、
前記複数の流体分注ダイに接続され、前記複数の流体分注ダイを駆動するようにホスト装置電極に接続された接触パッドアレイと
を含み、
前記流体分注ダイは、9以上の流体分注ダイを備えている、平板状のデジタル滴定カセット。
