Description
インクジエットインク中でIR吸収剤として働くPEDOT:PSS分散物である、0.5重量%のHeraeus社のCleviosTMP Jet(OLED)を使用してインクジエットインクを配合処方した。この分散物は、2−ピロリジノン、2−メチル−1,3−プロパンジオール、テトラエチレングリコール、リポニックエステル、Surfynol CT151、ZonylFSOおよびトリス塩基といった成分からなるインクビヒクルに添加した。このインクビヒクルは、インクビヒクルが最終的にインク中で30重量%の量で存在し、また最終的なインク中のPEDOT:PSSの合計含量が0.5重量%であるようにして、PEDOT:PSS分散物および水と混合した。このインクは42番のプリントヘッドを用いて、サーマルインクジエット・ピコジェットシステム(TIPS)テストベッド上で試験した。液滴サイズは10ピコリットルであった。インクは、24ボルトにおいて2マイクロ秒のパルスを用いて、20メートル毎秒を超える優れた液滴速度でもって、申し分なく噴射された。
PEDOT:PSS分散物がHeraeus社のCleviosTMP Jet NV2であった点を除き、例1に従ってインクジエットインクを配合処方した。このインクは、例1と同様にしてTIPSにおいて試験し、同様の結果を示した。このインクは、例1と同様にしてLAP3次元印刷において試験した。得られた最終部品は色がライトブルーであり、良好な色の一貫性を有していた。
PEDOT:PSS分散物を近赤外線吸収性染料(Fabricolor Holding International社のFHI 104422P)で置き換えた点を除き、例1に従って比較用インクを配合処方した。この近赤外線吸収性染料はまた、例1におけるように0.5重量%ではなく、1重量%の濃度で存在させた。このインクは、例1におけるようにLAP3次元印刷において試験した。最終的に得られた部品はグリーンの色を有していた。近赤外線吸収性染料のグリーンの色は、高い温度、酸素曝露、光曝露、およびUV曝露といった、種々の条件で変化しうる。
例3におけるのと同じ近赤外線吸収性染料を用い、イエロー顔料を添加して、比較用のインクを配合処方した。このインクは例1と同様に、LAP3次元印刷において試験した。最終部品はイエローの色を有していた。
例1〜4の印刷部品について、溶融効率を比較した。0.5重量%のPEDOT:PSSを含有するインクを使用して印刷した例1〜2の部品は、1.2gの質量を有していた。1重量%の近赤外線吸収性染料を含有するインクを使用して印刷した例3の部品は、0.8gの質量を有していた。1重量%の近赤外線吸収性染料に加えてイエロー顔料を含有するインクを使用して印刷した例4の部品は、1.4gの質量を有していた。例4の部品の質量が大きいのは、追加のイエロー顔料がインクの赤外線吸収に寄与したことに起因する。透明なPEDOT:PSSベースのインクを用いて印刷された部品と透明な近赤外線吸収性染料ベースのインクを用いて印刷された部品との間の質量の相違は、PEDOT:PSSベースのインクの場合にパウダーの溶融効率が大きいことを示している。溶融効率におけるこの増大は、引張強度、引張モジュラス、および破断伸びといった機械的性質がより良好な印刷部品をもたらす結果となりうる。
PEDOT:PSSのサンプルを熱安定性についてテストした。PEDOT:PSSの吸光度は、PEDOT:PSSを約60℃に保ちながら、30日の期間にわたって測定した。図3は、0日目、1日目、2日目、3日目、6日目、8日目、15日目、および30日目に測定した、吸光度対波長のグラフを示している。1日目から30日目にかけて、吸光度は時間をかけて僅かに減少することが見出されたが、これは恐らく、高分子量ポリマーの相分離に起因するものである。しかしながらPEDOT:PSSは、LAPプロセスのような高温を伴う3次元印刷プロセスにおいて使用するについて十分に熱安定であることが見出された。PEDOT:PSSはまた、例3〜例4で使用された近赤外線吸収性染料よりも遙かに熱安定であった。
CleviosTMPEDOT:PSS分散物、水、および表6にある化学物質の比率にしたがって調製したインクビヒクルを混合することにより、凝結インクを調製した。凝結インク中におけるPEDOT:PSSの濃度は0.5重量%である。インクの残りの99.5重量%は、インクビヒクルと水のそれぞれの30:70の混合物である。加えて、Crodafos、PEI、グリセリンまたはグリコール酸エステルおよびエーテル、および/またはSDS界面活性剤のような添加剤を添加することができる。
表7のインクビヒクルを使用した点を除き、同様の条件の下で例7を繰り返した。
表8のインクビヒクルを使用した点を除き、同様の条件の下で例7を繰り返した。
表9のインクビヒクルを使用した点を除き、同様の条件の下で例7を繰り返した。
表10のインクビヒクルを使用した点を除き、同様の条件の下で例7を繰り返した。
ナイロン12パウダーをベッド中で150℃に加熱した。次いで例7〜11の一つによる凝結インクを所望の位置に印刷して、ある形状を作成した。ベッド内には一様な温度を維持した。次いで赤外線ランプをベッドの全領域を横断して掃引し、インク印刷領域にある粒子を溶融した。次に追加のパウダー層をベッド上に広げ、プロセスを継続して完成したテスト部品を形成した。この部品をパウダーベッドから取り出し、穏やかにサンドブラストした。
インクに対して着色剤を添加する(本質的に無色であるかまたは使用した量では淡い色だけを付与する共役ポリマーに加えて)ことにより、例7から例11のインクが特定の所望な色を有するように調製した。この例では、これらのインクのそれぞれに対して、シアン、マゼンタ、イエロー、またはブラック顔料(自己分散性または分散剤により分散)のいずれか一つを1重量%、2重量%、3.5重量%、5重量%、または7重量%で添加し、一つまたはより多くの主溶媒、例えば水、2−ピロリジノン、2−メチル−1,3−プロパンジオール、2−ヒドロキシエチル−2−ピロリジノンなどの同量を置き換え、または全体としての液体ビヒクルの同量を置き換えた。
Claims (15)
- 凝結インクであって:
共役ポリマー;
凝結インクに可視色を付与する着色剤;および
250℃またはそれを超える沸点を有する高沸点共溶媒を含むインクビヒクルを含み、高沸点共溶媒が凝結インクに対して約1重量%から約4重量%の量で存在する、凝結インク。 - 共役ポリマーが水分散性共役ポリマーである、請求項1の凝結インク。
- 共役ポリマーが凝結インク中に約0.02重量%から約10重量%の濃度で存在するポリ(3,4−エチレンジオキシチオフェン)−ポリ(スチレンスルホネート)である、請求項1の凝結インク。
- 共役ポリマーが800nmから1400nmのピーク吸収波長を有する、請求項1の凝結インク。
- 凝結インクがポリマー粒子上に噴射された場合に可視色を付与し、ポリマー粒子に対して約0.0003重量%から約5重量%の濃度のポリ(3,4−エチレンジオキシチオフェン)−ポリ(スチレンスルホネート)をもたらす、請求項3の凝結インク。
- 着色剤が凝結インク中で約0.5重量%から約10重量%の濃度を有する顔料である、請求項5の凝結インク。
- 共役ポリマーが凝結インクの可視色を実質的に変化させない、請求項1の凝結インク。
- 材料セットであって:
インクビヒクルおよび800nmから1400nmのピーク吸収波長を有する共役ポリマーを含む凝結インク、および
凝結インクに接触されピーク吸収波長を放出する近赤外エネルギーによって照射された場合に凝結するよう配合処方された粒状ポリマーを含む、材料セット。 - 共役ポリマーがポリ(3,4−エチレンジオキシチオフェン)−ポリ(スチレンスルホネート)の水中分散物を含む、請求項8の材料セット。
- 凝結インクがさらに、凝結インクに可視色を付与する着色剤を含む、請求項8の材料セット。
- 粒状ポリマーが、ナイロン6パウダー、ナイロン9パウダー、ナイロン11パウダー、ナイロン12パウダー、ナイロン66パウダー、ナイロン612パウダー、ポリエチレンパウダー、熱可塑性ポリウレタンパウダー、ポリプロピレンパウダー、ポリエステルパウダー、ポリカーボネートパウダー、ポリエーテルケトンパウダー、ポリアクリレートパウダー、ポリスチレンパウダー、およびこれらの混合物からなる群より選択される、請求項8の材料セット。
- 粒状ポリマーが約70℃から約350℃の融点または軟化点を有する、請求項8の材料セット。
- 凝結インクは、粒状ポリマーの一部に印刷された場合に十分な温度上昇能力を有し、印刷部分と非印刷部分が両方とも約800nmから約1400nmの波長で照射された場合に、印刷された部分の粒状ポリマーは粒状ポリマーの非印刷部分より温度が少なくとも10℃上昇する、請求項8の材料セット。
- 3次元印刷部品の形成方法であって:
粒状ポリマーのベッドを粒状ポリマーの融点または軟化点より約10℃から約70℃下まで予備加熱し;
凝結インクを粒状ポリマーのベッドの一部上に噴射し、ここで凝結インクがインクビヒクルおよび800nmから1400nmのピーク吸収波長を有する共役ポリマーを含み;
粒状ポリマーのベッドを800nmから1400nmからの波長で発光するよう構成された溶融ランプで照射して粒状ポリマーのベッドの一部の溶融を生じさせ;
一部の溶融後に粒状ポリマーのベッドの層を付加し;そして
噴射工程、照射工程、および付加工程を繰り返して部品を形成する、方法。 - 溶融ランプが粒状ポリマーのベッドの全体を実質的に均一な照射強度に曝露するよう構成されている、請求項14の方法。
