引戸閉アシスト機構3は、上枠1のレール16の室内側の戸先側と戸尻側の振れ止め55,55間に配置されているため、雨水が引戸閉アシスト機構3に浸入し難い。また、内外の障子に取り付け可能で、網戸の取り付けにも邪魔にならない。
本建具は、付勢力を蓄積する際の引戸2a,2bの開方向の移動量を、付勢力が解放されるときの引戸2a,2bの閉方向の移動量より長くすることで、引戸2a,2bを開ける際の抵抗を小さくできると共に、引戸2a,2bが閉じる力を大きくして、テラス窓の重い引戸であっても確実に閉め切ることができる。
また本建具は、引戸2a,2bを閉め切った状態で開フック4が開トリガ5から離間しており、引戸2a,2bが少し開いてから付勢力の蓄積を開始するので、引戸2a,2bを開き始める際に引戸が重くならず、スムーズに開けることができる。
本建具は、引戸2a,2bを枠8に建て込んだままの状態で、戸尻側からネジ53を操作することで、付勢力の調整が簡単に行える。
引戸閉アシスト機構3を引戸の室内側面に取付ける場合には、内障子2bにしか引戸閉アシスト機構3を設置できないが、上框11内に収納することで外障子2aと内障子2bの両方に引戸閉アシスト機構3を設置できる。
また本建具は、引戸閉アシスト機構3を上框11に収納したので、外観及び内観意匠が通常のサッシと変わらず、意匠性が良い。また、引戸閉アシスト機構3の設置・撤去が容易で、外した場合でもサッシとして機能する。さらに、既存のサッシでもガラスをそのまま使用し、上框11のみの取替えで設置可能である。
