Abstract
Description
(1)十分なアイレリーフ又はアイクリアランス。アイレリーフ範囲は、見る人の快適さとヒトの目それ自体の光学的配置に基づいて定められる。実際には、HMD光学装置の最終光学面と見る人の目との距離は、約20mm以上が好ましい。
(2)適切な瞳孔サイズ。瞳孔サイズ要件は、見る人の顔の構造の差異および見る際の視線方向の変更に基づく。少なくとも直径約10mmの瞳孔サイズが好ましいことが知られている。
(3)視野。広い視野が好ましい。標的設定、対象物認識といった視覚的課題の多くにおいて、視野は約50度近くが望ましいと考えられている。
(4)輝度。見やすさ、および見る人の快適さのために、生成されたバーチャル像は十分な輝度を有する必要がある。

Claims (9)
- 左眼用画像装置と右眼用画像装置を収容するフレームを有するヘッドマウント型画像装置であって、各画像装置が観察者の目にバーチャル画像を形成するために稼働可能であり、各画像装置が、
投射軸線に沿う中央投射光ビームを含む、角度的に関連したビームの集合を放射するために稼働可能であり、上記フレームのテンプル部材によって支持されたプロジェクタと、
2つの平面を有し、入力アパーチャを通して上記中央投射光ビームを受け入れ、拡大中央光ビームを形成し、この拡大中央光ビームを出力アパーチャを通して観察者の対応する目に向けて出力するように構成され、上記出力アパーチャが上記入力アパーチャから離れて配置された導波路と、
上記中央投射光ビームを、上記導波路の表面に対して鈍角をなす第1軸線に沿って受け取り、上記中央投射光ビームの方向を、上記導波路の表面に対して鋭角をなす第2軸線に沿うように変える光結合器と、
を備えたことを特徴とするヘッドマウント型画像装置。 - 上記導波路は上記中央投射光ビームを、観察者側の上記平面を通して受け取り、出力することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のヘッドマウント型画像装置。
- 上記光結合器は、上記中央投射光ビームを反射するために、2つの少なくとも部分的に反射する面を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のヘッドマウント型画像装置。
- 上記2つの少なくとも部分的に反射する面は、非平行の面であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のヘッドマウント型画像装置。
- 上記少なくとも部分的に反射する面の一方は、上記中央投射光ビームを第1範囲の入射角で反射し、上記中央投射光ビームを第2範囲の入射角で伝送することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のヘッドマウント型画像装置。
- 上記少なくとも部分的に反射する面の他方は、両方の範囲の入射角で上記中央投射光ビームを反射することを特徴とする、請求項5に記載のヘッドマウント型画像装置。
- 上記光結合器がプリズムであることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のヘッドマウント型画像装置。
- 上記プロジェクタは、上記導波路の上記入力アパーチャに実質的に配置された光学的絞りを有することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のヘッドマウント型画像装置。
- 結合内回折光学素子が上記入力アパーチャに配置され、結合外回折光学素子が上記出力アパーチャに配置されたことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のヘッドマウント型画像装置。
