- 固定子と、前記固定子の内周側に空隙を介して回転可能に配置された回転子とを備え、
前記回転子は、複数の磁石挿入孔を備える回転子コアと、前記磁石挿入孔に固定された複数極の永久磁石とを備え、
前記磁石挿入孔は、前記回転子の回転軸方向に延伸するとともに、前記永久磁石の幅方向の両側に、前記永久磁石が存在しない磁気的空隙を備え、
前記回転軸方向に垂直な断面において、
前記磁気的空隙の輪郭を構成する頂点のうち前記回転子コアの外周に最も近い頂点を頂点P0とし、
前記頂点P0を通り、前記回転子コアの外周を示す円と同心円を描く線を仮想線L1とし、
前記磁石挿入孔の前記永久磁石に面する辺のうち前記幅方向に延伸し前記回転子の径方向の外側にある辺と重なる直線を仮想線L2とし、
前記仮想線L1と前記仮想線L2との交点を交点P1とし、
前記仮想線L2上に位置し又は前記仮想線L2に対して前記永久磁石の1極の中心軸であるd軸の反対側に位置し、前記交点P1よりも前記径方向の内側に位置する頂点を頂点P2とすると、
前記磁気的空隙は、前記断面において、
前記輪郭が、前記頂点P0と、前記頂点P2と、前記頂点P0と前記頂点P2とを結ぶ辺Sとを有し、
