一方、上記準備した用紙3、罫線にドットを用いた図12に示す既存のノート用紙(比較用紙1)罫線の態様を図13に示す既存のノート用紙(比較用紙2)、を用い、被験者に対し内田クレペリン検査を基本としてこれに改良を加えた作業検査を18歳から20歳までの男女各10名の合計20名に対して行った。この作業検査では、作業の開始からその終了までの時間と誤答数を測定し、作業効率と集中度の指標として確認した。より具体的には、例えば図14で示されるように、用紙の最上段の行に左端から間隔をおいて一桁の数字を複数配置し、この下の行に上段の隣り合う数字同士の和をそれら二つの数字の間にあたる箇所に記入させ(和が二桁になる場合は一の位の数字のみを記入)、その下の行もこれと同様に隣り合う数字の和を記入させる。例えば、最上段の行に「4536764891378926」と記載されているならば、被験者はその次の行である二行目に「989330270405718」と記入する。以降、被験者が記入を終えた行の数字の列について、同様の計算及びその次の行への結果の数字の記入を反復的に行わせる。最終的に、被験者はある行に一つの数値を記入して作業を終える。この結果を図15に示しておく。
