Claims (20)
- 非常用照明システムのバックアップ電源を充電するための充電電源に接続され、且つ第1の入力端子及び第2の入力端子の両端間で前記充電電源から入力電圧を得る第1の入力端子及び第2の入力端子であって、前記入力電圧が前記非常用照明システムの複数の公称動作電圧のうちの前記充電電源の印加公称動作電圧に対応する、第1の入力端子及び第2の入力端子と、得られた前記入力電圧に応答して、前記入力電圧が対応する前記充電電源の前記印加公称動作電圧を示す入力電圧レベル信号を生成する電圧レベル検出器と、前記バックアップ電源付近の温度が前記バックアップ電源の温度閾値を上回るかどうかを判定し、且つ前記温度が前記バックアップ電源の温度閾値を上回るかどうかを示す温度信号を生成する温度検出器と、前記バックアップ電源を加熱するために選択的に活性化される複数の加熱要素を含む加熱器とを含み、前記温度信号は、前記加熱器が活性化されるかどうかを判定し、及び前記加熱器が活性化される場合、前記入力電圧レベル信号は、前記加熱要素のうちの何れが活性化されるかを決定する、機器。
- スイッチング回路を更に含み、前記スイッチング回路は、前記温度が前記バックアップ電源の温度閾値を上回らない場合に前記加熱器を活性化する、請求項1に記載の機器。
- 前記加熱器は、複数の電圧入力及び1つの出力端子を有し、前記温度が前記バックアップ電源の温度閾値を上回らない場合、前記スイッチング回路は、前記入力電圧レベル信号に応答して前記第1の入力端子を複数の電圧入力のうちの選択された電圧入力に選択的に接続する、請求項2に記載の機器。
- 前記スイッチング回路は、前記温度が前記バックアップ電源の温度閾値を上回らない場合に前記加熱器を活性化し、且つ前記温度が前記バックアップ電源の温度閾値を上回らない場合に前記入力電圧レベル信号に応答して前記第1の入力端子を選択された電圧入力に接続する1つ又は複数の継電器を含む、請求項3に記載の機器。
- 前記入力電圧レベル信号及び前記温度信号を受信し、且つそれらに応答して1つ又は複数の継電器を制御するための1つ又は複数の制御信号を出力する論理回路を更に含む、請求項4に記載の機器。
- 前記加熱器は、複数の電圧入力及び1つの出力端子を有し、前記加熱要素の少なくとも第1の加熱要素が第1の電圧入力と第2の電圧入力との間で直列接続され、及び前記加熱要素の少なくとも第2の加熱要素が前記第2の電圧入力と前記出力端子との間で直列接続され、前記出力端子は前記第2の入力端子に接続され、前記スイッチング回路は前記第1の入力端子を前記複数の電圧入力のうちの1つに選択的に接続する、請求項2に記載の機器。
- 前記加熱器が活性化され、且つ前記印加公称動作電圧が複数の公称電圧のうちの第1の公称電圧である場合、前記スイッチング回路は、前記加熱器の第1の加熱要素及び第2の加熱要素の直列の組合せの両端間に入力電圧を印加し、前記加熱器が活性化され、且つ前記印加公称動作電圧が前記複数の公称電圧のうちの第2の公称電圧である場合、前記スイッチング回路は、前記第2の加熱要素の両端間に入力電圧を印加し、前記第1の加熱要素をバイパスする、請求項2に記載の機器。
- 前記第1の公称動作電圧が277VACであり、前記第2の公称動作電圧が120VACであり、前記加熱器は、前記加熱器が活性化され、且つ前記印加公称動作電圧が277VACである場合に第1の出力レベルでエネルギを放散し、前記加熱器は、前記加熱器が活性化され、且つ前記印加公称動作電圧が120VACである場合に第2の出力レベルでエネルギを放散し、前記第1の出力レベルは前記第2の出力レベルとほぼ同じである、請求項7に記載の機器。
- 前記加熱器が活性化され、且つ前記印加公称動作電圧が複数の公称電圧のうちの第1の公称電圧である場合、前記スイッチング回路は、前記加熱器の第1の加熱要素、第2の加熱要素、及び第3の加熱要素の直列の組合せの両端間に入力電圧を印加し、前記加熱器が活性化され、且つ前記印加公称動作電圧が前記複数の公称電圧のうちの第2の公称電圧である場合、前記スイッチング回路は、前記第2の加熱要素及び前記第3の加熱要素の直列の組合せの両端間に入力電圧を印加し、且つ前記第1の加熱要素をバイパスし、前記加熱器が活性化され、且つ前記印加公称動作電圧が前記複数の公称電圧のうちの第3の公称電圧である場合、前記スイッチング回路は、前記第3の加熱要素の両端間に入力電圧を印加し、且つ前記第1の加熱要素及び前記第2の加熱要素をバイパスする、請求項2に記載の機器。
- 前記第1の公称動作電圧が277VACであり、前記第2の公称動作電圧が230VACであり、前記第3の公称動作電圧が120VACである、請求項9に記載の機器。
- 前記複数の公称動作電圧が少なくとも120VAC及び277VACを含む、請求項1に記載の機器。
- 前記複数の公称動作電圧が少なくとも120VAC、230VAC、及び277VACを含む、請求項1に記載の機器。
- 前記加熱器は、前記加熱器が活性化され、且つ前記入力電圧が305VACである場合に第1の出力レベルでエネルギを放散し、前記加熱器は、前記加熱器が活性化され、且つ前記入力電圧が102VACである場合に第2の出力レベルでエネルギを放散し、前記第1の出力レベルは前記第2の出力レベルの2倍未満である、請求項12に記載の機器。
- 前記加熱器は、熱保護器付近の温度が前記加熱器の温度閾値を上回る場合に前記バックアップ電源の加熱を無効にする当該熱保護器を更に含む、請求項1に記載の機器。
- 前記温度検出器は、前記温度信号に関するヒステリシスを提供するために前記バックアップ電源の温度閾値を変える、請求項1に記載の機器。
- 非常用照明システムのバックアップ電源を充電するための入力電圧を第1の入力端子及び第2の入力端子の両端間で充電電源から得るステップであって、前記入力電圧が前記非常用照明システムの複数の公称動作電圧のうちの前記充電電源の印加公称動作電圧に対応する、ステップと、前記バックアップ電源付近の温度が閾値を上回るかどうかを判定するステップと、前記温度が閾値を上回るかどうかを示す温度信号を生成するステップと、前記温度信号に応答して、複数の加熱要素を含む加熱器を選択的に活性化及び非活性化するステップと、前記加熱器が活性化されるとき、前記入力電圧が対応する前記充電電源の前記印加公称動作電圧を示す入力電圧レベル信号を生成するステップと、前記入力電圧レベル信号に応答して、前記バックアップ電源を加熱するために活性化する前記加熱要素の1つ又は複数を選択するステップとを含む、方法。
- 前記温度が閾値を上回らない場合、何れの加熱要素も活性化されない、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記加熱器は、複数の電圧入力及び出力端子を有し、前記入力電圧レベル信号に応答して前記第1の入力端子を前記複数の電圧入力のうちの選択された電圧入力に選択的に接続するステップを更に含む、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記加熱器が活性化され、且つ前記印加公称動作電圧が複数の公称電圧のうちの第1の公称電圧である場合、前記加熱器の第1の加熱要素及び第2の加熱要素の直列の組合せの両端間に入力電圧を印加し、前記加熱器が活性化され、且つ前記印加公称動作電圧が前記複数の公称電圧のうちの第2の公称電圧である場合、前記第2の加熱要素の両端間に入力電圧を印加し、且つ前記第1の加熱要素をバイパスするステップを更に含む、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の公称動作電圧が277VACであり、且つ前記第2の公称動作電圧が120VACであり、前記加熱器が活性化され、且つ前記印加公称動作電圧が277VACである場合に前記加熱器が第1の出力レベルでエネルギを放散するステップと、前記加熱器が活性化され、且つ前記印加公称動作電圧が120VACである場合に前記加熱器が第2の出力レベルでエネルギを放散するステップとを更に含み、前記第1の出力レベルは前記第2の出力レベルとほぼ同じである、請求項19に記載の方法。
