Abstract
Description
Aspects of the present invention relate to a touch sensor capable of detecting bending and a display device capable of detecting bending, and more particularly to a touch sensor capable of detecting bending and a display device capable of detecting bending.
Patent Document 1 discloses a portable device including a display unit, a first housing, a second housing, and a connecting portion that connects the first housing and the second housing so as to be openable and closable. ing. The display unit is provided from the first housing to the second housing. The connecting portion has a portion that operates together with the first housing and a portion that operates together with the second housing, and these portions are connected so that the relative position can be changed. In the portable device described in Patent Document 1, the first housing and the second housing are opened (open state), or the first housing and the second housing are folded (closed state). ).
In the portable device described in Patent Literature 1, an angle sensor that detects an opening / closing angle between the first housing and the second housing is disposed inside the connecting portion. And a portable apparatus correct | amends the detection value detected by the touch panel which a display unit has based on the detection value detected by the angle sensor, and correct | amends the shift | offset | difference of the detection position of a touch panel.
However, in the portable device described in Patent Document 1, since the angle sensor is disposed inside the connecting portion, the mechanical structure of the connecting portion is likely to be complicated. Specifically, a mechanism for detecting the relative positional relationship between the portion operating with the first housing and the portion operating with the second housing is required.
Where portable devices are required to meet the continuous demands for thinning and weight reduction, the angle sensor provided in such a connecting portion may be an obstacle to further downsizing the connecting portion. There was sex. For this reason, the configuration of the display unit in a folded state such as detection of whether the display unit is opened or closed, detection of the folding angle of the display unit, etc., by a configuration different from the configuration of the portable device described in Patent Document 1. There has been a demand for a new technology that enables detection and detection (in the present specification, the above detection and detection are collectively referred to as “folding detection”) and miniaturization of the entire portable device. .
The present invention has been made on the basis of recognition of such a problem, and a touch sensor capable of detecting bending that enables downsizing of a device including a touch sensor and a display device including the touch sensor capable of detecting bending. The purpose is to provide.
In one aspect, the touch sensor capable of detecting bending according to the present invention is a touch sensor capable of detecting bending that can be bent in a bending region, and has a translucent base material and a detection region of the surface of the base material. And a transparent electrode having translucency, and a bending detection sensor which is provided on the surface in the bending region and detects the bending.
According to the touch sensor capable of detecting bending according to an aspect of the present invention, the bending detection sensor is not a hinge portion of a display device capable of detecting bending, for example, but a base material of the touch sensor capable of detecting bending. It is provided on the surface. Therefore, the bending detection sensor directly detects the deformation of the base material caused by the bending of the touch sensor capable of detecting the bending. Thereby, it is not necessary to provide a configuration for detecting and detecting the degree of bending of the touch sensor outside the touch sensor. Therefore, it is easy to reduce the size of the device including the touch sensor. Further, since the detection / detection mechanism is located in the touch sensor that is the detection / detection target, the deformation of the base material caused by the bending of the touch sensor can be detected with higher accuracy. In other words, it is possible to increase the presence / absence of bending of the touch sensor, the angle of bending of the touch sensor, and the detection gain of the direction of bending of the touch sensor.
In the touch sensor capable of detecting bending according to the present invention, the bending detection sensor may be provided in an area outside the detection area. According to this, the area outside the detection area is, for example, a frame-shaped decoration area formed outside the detection area. Generally, since the decoration area has a light shielding property, the lower side (back side) of the decoration area cannot be seen from the surface of the touch sensor capable of detecting bending. For this reason, it is possible to suppress the bending detection sensor and the wiring connected to the bending detection sensor from being visually recognized.
The touch sensor capable of detecting bending according to the present invention is provided on the surface in the outer region, is electrically connected to the transparent electrode, and is provided in the outer region. The sensor wiring electrically connected to the detection sensor, and in the outer region, provided between the bending detection sensor, the sensor wiring, and the electrode wiring, and formed of an insulating material. And an insulating layer.
According to this, since the electrode wiring, the insulating layer, the bending detection sensor and the sensor wiring are stacked on each other in the outer region of the detection region, the area of the outer region of the detection region is reduced and detection is performed. The area of the region can be increased. Thereby, enlargement of the detection area (display area) and narrowing of the frame can be realized.
In the touch sensor capable of detecting bending according to the present invention, the bending detection sensor may have a portion provided in the detection area. According to this, the bending detection sensor can cross the detection region. Therefore, to increase the detection gain in bending detection, such as the presence or absence of bending of the touch sensor capable of detecting bending, the angle of bending of the touch sensor capable of detecting bending, and the direction of bending of the touch sensor capable of detecting bending. Can do. Further, when the bending detection sensor crosses the detection area, the bending detection sensor is hardly provided in the area outside the detection area, so that the area outside the detection area can be eliminated (less frame) ). Thereby, enlargement of the detection area (display area) and narrowing of the frame can be realized.
In the touch sensor capable of detecting bending according to the present invention, the bending detection sensor includes a resistor whose resistance value is changed by deformation based on the bending, and the bending detection is performed based on a change in the resistance value of the resistor. It may be possible. According to this, it is possible to more easily detect folding such as folding by bonding the bending detection sensor to the surface of the base material, for example.
In the touch sensor capable of detecting bending according to the present invention, the bending detection sensor includes a first electrode provided on one side as viewed from the bending axis and a first electrode provided on the other side as viewed from the axis. And the bending may be detected based on a change in capacitance between the first electrode and the second electrode. According to this, the first electrode and the second electrode can be formed in the same process as the transparent electrode. Therefore, the bending detection sensor can be more easily formed on the surface of the base material.
In one aspect, the display device capable of detecting bending according to the present invention is provided with flexibility between the first housing, the second housing, the first housing, and the second housing. And a touch sensor provided on the display unit and capable of detecting any one of the above-described bendings.
According to the display device capable of detecting bending according to one embodiment of the present invention, the bending detection sensor is provided on the surface of the base material of the touch sensor capable of detecting bending. Therefore, the bending detection sensor directly detects the deformation of the base material caused by the bending of the touch sensor capable of detecting the bending. Thereby, the deformation | transformation of the base material which arises by bending of the touch sensor in which bending detection is possible can be detected with a higher precision. In other words, the presence / absence of bending of the touch sensor capable of detecting bending, the angle of bending of the touch sensor capable of detecting bending, and the detection gain of the direction of bending of the touch sensor capable of detecting bending can be increased.
The display device capable of detecting bending according to the present invention may further include a hinge portion that connects the first housing and the second housing so as to be openable and closable. According to this, the bending detection sensor is provided not on the hinge part but on the surface of the base material of the touch sensor capable of detecting bending. Therefore, the structure of the hinge part is simplified compared to the case where the angle sensor is provided in the hinge part. In addition, when an angle sensor is provided in the hinge part, in order to increase the measurement accuracy of the angle sensor, it may be required to increase the shape accuracy of a part related to the rotation (rotating part) in the hinge part. is there. On the other hand, in the display device capable of detecting bending according to the present invention in which the angle sensor is not provided in the hinge portion, the bending detection sensor is directly provided in the touch sensor in which the bending occurs. Regardless of the shape accuracy of the rotating component, the deformation of the base material caused by the bending of the touch sensor can be detected with higher accuracy.
According to the present invention, it is easy to downsize a device (display device) including a touch sensor, and it is possible to detect a deformation of the touch sensor caused by bending with high accuracy, and a touch sensor capable of detecting bending and a fold. A display device capable of detecting a song can be provided.

As shown by arrows A3 and A4 shown in FIG. 2, the

The other part of the plurality of
One of the plurality of
As shown in FIG. 2A, the
Further, a bending
As shown in FIG. 3, in the
The bending
In the
In the
Alternatively, the
When the bend-

As shown in FIG. 4A and FIG. 5, the insulating
As the bending

In the
As shown in FIG. 7, the
A strain gauge is used as the bending
The bending

FIG. 8A is a schematic plan view of the
In the
The
In the
When the bend-

In addition, although this embodiment and its application example were demonstrated above, this invention is not limited to these examples. For example, those in which the person skilled in the art appropriately added, deleted, or changed the design of the above-described embodiments or application examples thereof, or combinations of the features of the embodiments as appropriate are also included in the present invention.
