Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an engine brake system and an engine brake control method.
As described in Patent Document 1 below, an exhaust brake that is an auxiliary brake is generally used in a brake system for a vehicle (in particular, a large vehicle) equipped with an engine. This exhaust brake increases the pressure of the exhaust by restricting the exhaust brake valve provided in the exhaust passage, and as a result, increases the engine braking force.
While the vehicle is decelerating, fuel injection by the engine is not performed, so the temperature of the exhaust gas that is post-processed by the post-processing device decreases. When the temperature of the exhaust gas decreases, the function of the aftertreatment device also decreases. Therefore, as a measure to suppress the temperature drop of the exhaust, in order to reduce the amount of fresh air flowing into the engine, the EGR valve provided in the recirculation passage for returning the exhaust to the engine is opened during the operation of the exhaust brake, and the exhaust Is recirculated to the engine.
However, if the EGR valve is opened during the operation of the exhaust brake, the exhaust gas is recirculated to the engine, and the flow rate of the exhaust gas flowing to the aftertreatment device is reduced. As a result, the engine braking force may be reduced.
Accordingly, the present invention has been made in view of these points, and an object thereof is to suppress a decrease in exhaust gas temperature while ensuring a braking force of an engine brake.
In a first aspect of the present invention, an exhaust passage through which engine exhaust flows is provided so as to be openable and closable, a pressure regulating valve capable of adjusting the pressure of the exhaust, and a branch from the exhaust passage to return the exhaust to the engine. A flow rate adjusting valve that adjusts a flow rate of exhaust gas that is recirculated to the engine, and a heating element that is provided upstream of a post-treatment device that performs post-treatment of the exhaust gas in the exhaust passage. When the deceleration request is received, the pressure adjustment valve is closed to increase the pressure of the exhaust gas, and the flow rate adjustment valve is closed to not recirculate the exhaust gas to the engine. An engine brake system comprising: a control unit that performs brake control for warming up the engine.
According to such an engine brake system, by closing the pressure regulating valve and increasing the exhaust pressure, the pump loss of the engine increases, so the braking force of the engine brake increases. Further, by closing the flow rate adjustment valve, the exhaust does not return from the return passage to the engine, so that the exhaust pressure can be prevented from decreasing. Furthermore, when the exhaust gas is warmed by the heating element when the flow rate adjustment valve is closed, the temperature drop of the exhaust gas flowing through the post-processing device can be suppressed.
The engine brake system further includes a vehicle speed detection unit that detects a vehicle speed and a generator that generates electric power to be supplied to the heating element, and the control unit detects the vehicle speed after performing the brake control. When it is detected by the unit that the vehicle speed has not decreased, the power generation amount of the generator may be increased.
The engine brake system further includes a temperature detection unit that detects a temperature of the exhaust gas, and a generator that generates electric power to be supplied to the heating element, and the control unit performs the brake control. When the temperature detection unit detects that the temperature of the exhaust gas has decreased, the power generation amount of the generator may be increased.
The deceleration request includes a first deceleration request and a second deceleration request having a greater degree of deceleration than the first deceleration request, and when the control unit receives the first deceleration request, When brake control is performed and the second deceleration request is received, the brake control may be performed and the transmission gear ratio may be switched to increase the engine speed.
In the second aspect of the present invention, the step of determining whether or not there is a deceleration request for the vehicle, and if it is determined that the deceleration request is present, the pressure adjustment valve provided in the exhaust passage through which engine exhaust flows is closed. The exhaust pressure is increased, and the flow rate adjusting valve provided in the recirculation passage that branches off from the exhaust passage and recirculates the exhaust gas to the engine is closed to not recirculate the exhaust gas to the engine. And a brake control step of causing the heating element provided on the upstream side of the aftertreatment device for performing the aftertreatment of the exhaust to warm the exhaust, to provide a method for controlling the engine brake.
ADVANTAGE OF THE INVENTION According to this invention, there exists an effect that the temperature fall of exhaust gas can be suppressed, ensuring the braking force of an engine brake.
<Engine brake system configuration>
A configuration of an engine brake system S according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIG.
FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram illustrating an example of a configuration of an engine brake system S according to an embodiment.
The engine brake system S is mounted on the vehicle. For example, the engine brake system S is mounted on a large vehicle such as a bus or a truck. The engine brake system S performs engine brake control using an exhaust brake, which is an auxiliary brake, and increases the braking force. As shown in FIG. 1, the engine brake system S includes an
Here, the
The intake manifold 11 is a manifold connected to the
The
The
排気通路30には、上流側から下流側へ向かって、過給機50のタービン51、圧力調整弁31、排気ヒータ32、C−DPF(Catalyzed Diesel Particulate Filter)33及びSCR(Selective Catalytic Reduction)34が設けられている。
The
The
The
The
The C-DPF 33 collects PM in the exhaust gas in the pores and surfaces of the partition walls. The
The
The
The supercharger 50 is a device that supercharges intake air taken into the
Here, the
The
The
The
The
(Engine brake control)
If the driver determines that there is a deceleration request by turning on the
As engine brake control, the
By closing the
The
The

<Operation example of engine brake system>
An operation example of the engine brake system S during engine brake control will be described with reference to FIGS. 2 and 3.
2 and 3 are flowcharts for explaining an operation example of the engine brake system S when engine brake control is performed. The engine brake control is realized by the CPU of the
First, the
Next, the
If it is determined in step S104 that there is a deceleration request (Yes), the
When it is determined in step S106 that the deceleration request is the first deceleration request (the
Next, the
On the other hand, when it is determined in step S110 that the vehicle speed is decreasing (Yes), the
If the exhaust temperature has not decreased in step S112 (No), the
If it is determined in step S106 that the deceleration request is the second deceleration request (the
Next, the
If it is determined in step S206 that the vehicle speed is decreasing (Yes), the
