The ink jet recording method is a printing method in which printing is performed by causing a droplet of an ink composition to fly and adhere to a recording medium such as paper. This method has a feature that a high-resolution and high-quality image can be printed at a high speed with a relatively inexpensive apparatus.

Needless to say, the color developability and color reproducibility of the ink-jet printed material are important, and various studies have been made so far to improve the color developability and color reproducibility. For example, Patent Documents 1 and 2 propose that an image expressing good color reproducibility can be formed by using an ink set in which special color inks are combined in addition to process inks.

However, in these printing systems, an ink jet head for special colors is additionally required, resulting in an increase in apparatus size and cost. Therefore, it is preferable that the above problem can be solved by using only process colors without using special color inks.

Of the process colors, yellow is involved in the development of red, which is a mixed color with magenta, and green, which is a mixed color with cyan, and plays an important role in the development and expansion of the color reproducibility. Conventionally, in an inkjet yellow ink, C.I. I. Pigment
Yellow 74, 120 and 150 were used as yellow pigments. On the other hand, in Patent Document 4, C.I. I. There are reports on inkjet yellow inks using Pigment Yellow 180, 185 and the like.

However, each of the pigments has a problem that it is inferior in color developability. Therefore, when these pigments are used, it is necessary to increase the pigment concentration in the ink, but at the same time, the amount of solid components in the ink is increased, so that the viscosity of the ink also increases. On the other hand, in order to develop the characteristics of inkjet ink, that is, to maintain and improve ink ejection performance and printing characteristics, it is necessary to keep the viscosity of the ink within a suitable range. The amount of ingredients that affect the characteristics of the must be reduced.

The present invention has been intensively studied to provide a water-based ink that has good color developability, clear image quality with few white spots on the substrate, and excellent ethanol resistance, and has stable continuous ejection performance. As a result, C.I. I. Pigment Yellow 14 pigment, and
The present invention was found by finding that the above problems can be solved by including a binder resin having an acid value of 100 or less and a weight average molecular weight of 30000 or less and setting the surface tension of the ink to 20 to 35 mN / m. It is a thing.

The reason why excellent ethanol resistance and continuous discharge properties can be obtained by including the above-mentioned acid value and molecular weight binder resin is not clear, but if the acid value is large, the binder resin easily dissolves in ethanol, so ethanol resistance is obtained. In addition, when the weight average molecular weight is large, it is considered that the pigment dispersion is easily broken and the continuous discharge property is deteriorated.

The reason why the above-described surface tension is set to obtain a clear image quality with continuous dischargeability and less white spots on the substrate is not clear, but the following may be considered. If the surface tension of the ink-jet ink is not 20 mN / m or more, the ejection property is deteriorated, and the continuous ejection property is remarkably deteriorated. On the other hand, when it exceeds 35 mN / m, it becomes difficult for the dots to spread on the base material, and the print quality deteriorates. Therefore, it is considered that the surface tension needs to be 20 mN / m or more and 35 mN / m or less.

The preferred blending amount of t Yellow 14 is 2 to 5% by weight with respect to the total amount of ink. If it is less than 2% by weight, the printing density is slightly inferior, and if it exceeds 5% by weight, the continuous ejection property is deteriorated.

On the other hand, C.I. I. By including a pigment having poor solvent resistance such as Pigment Yellow 74 and a solvent having high hydrophobicity, continuous discharge properties are deteriorated. The reason is not clear, but it is believed that a pigment having poor solvent resistance in a hydrophobic solvent repeatedly dissolves and precipitates, resulting in dispersion destruction of the pigment. Moreover, even if a hydrophobic solvent is not used, the ink coating film has an adverse effect that the coating film is peeled off by wiping with ethanol.

(Binder resin)
As the binder resin, a resin having a hydrophobic component and a hydrophilic component in a certain balance is designed and used. In this case, the hydrophilic component is ionic, and more preferably anionic. In particular, those that are rendered water-soluble by neutralizing anionic substances with a volatile base component are preferred. The binder resin of the present invention is a resin having a carboxyl group or a sulfonic acid group as an acidic group and having an acid value of 100 or less. An acid value of 50 or less can be particularly preferably used. When the acid value exceeds 100, since the binder resin is easily dissolved in ethanol, sufficient ethanol resistance cannot be obtained. In addition, the dispersion of the pigment is easily destroyed, and the continuous discharge property is also deteriorated.

(Surfactant)
In the ink for ink jet recording of the present invention, a surfactant can be used for the purpose of adjusting the surface tension and ensuring the wettability on the low absorption substrate. As surfactant, acetylene type,
Various materials are known for various applications such as silicon, acrylic and fluorine. From the viewpoint of securing a surface tension of ink of 20 mN / m or more and obtaining excellent continuous ejection during high-speed printing. It is particularly preferable to use an acrylic or silicon surfactant. When a fluorosurfactant is used, the surface tension calculated by the measurement method described above tends to decrease, and the continuous ejection stability may be impaired when printing at high speed. On the other hand, if the surface tension exceeds 35 mN / m, the wettability to the substrate is poor, white streaks are generated, and clear image quality cannot be obtained. The surfactant content is 0.05 to 5% by weight based on the total weight of the ink.
Is preferred. If it exceeds 5% by weight, the surface tension of the ink is lowered, and the continuous ejection stability when printing at high speed is deteriorated.

(Color reproducibility of printed matter)
The color chart part of the printed matter for evaluation obtained in Examples 18 to 26 and Comparative Examples 10 to 12,
Color measurement was performed using a spectrophotometer (i1 Pro manufactured by X-rite), and a color reproduction region in the L * a * b * color space was plotted and evaluated. However, the measurement conditions were a light source D50, a 2-degree field of view, and measurement optics of 45 ° / 0 °. Specified by Japan Color for Printing 2007
The evaluation was performed in comparison with the color reproduction region in the L * a * b * color space. The evaluation criteria are as follows, and 、 and ○ evaluations are practical areas.
A: Greatly exceeds the red reproduction region or blue reproduction region of Japan Color 2007.
○: Slightly exceeds the red color reproduction region or blue color reproduction region of Japan Color 2007.
×: Equivalent to the red reproduction region and the blue reproduction region of Japan Color 2007.
