前記紙幣搬送装置は、紙幣の紙面が垂直の姿勢で送れる紙幣通路を内部に形成した密閉のダクトを前記各紙幣投入装置に近接した位置を経て前記紙幣保管室の位置まで配設し、ダクトの左右側壁位置から内部中央に向けて突出するように設けられたガイドによって案内されて紙幣通路に沿って前記紙幣保管室まで下流に向って及び紙幣保管室から最遠の紙幣投入装置までの上流に向って移動でき且つ紙幣通路に置かれた紙幣を下流への移動途中で捕捉できるキャリアを紙幣通路内に配置し、
又、前記紙幣投入装置から送出される紙幣を受け入れて紙幣を一時待機して所要の時点でダクト側壁の狭い縦長の開口を介してダクト内の紙幣通路までその紙面が垂直状態となるように送り込む紙幣挿入装置を備え、
