Abstract
Description
本発明は、液体中に含まれている固体粒子を分離するための固液分離装置に関するもので、特に、液体との密度差がないか又は小さい固体粒子の分離に有効な固液分離装置に関するものである。 The present invention relates to a solid-liquid separation device for separating solid particles contained in a liquid, and more particularly, to a solid-liquid separation device effective for separation of solid particles that have no density difference from a liquid or are small. Is.
細胞や、藻類、その他の微生物を培養して、医薬品、燃料やその他の有用物質を生産する場合は、前記有用物質の回収処理を開始する際、培養された細胞や微生物等を、水中(培養液中)より分離する前処理が必要とされる。 When cells, algae, and other microorganisms are cultured to produce pharmaceuticals, fuels, and other useful substances, the cells and microorganisms that are cultured in water (culture A pre-treatment that separates from the liquid) is required.
Further, as a method for performing desalination treatment of seawater desalination treatment or shale gas accompanying water, there are a reverse osmosis membrane method and a forward osmosis membrane method. When carrying out such a reverse osmosis membrane method or forward osmosis membrane method, it is possible to separate and remove solid particles such as sand, clay and colloid contained in water as a pretreatment before the membrane treatment. Desired. Furthermore, in the case of desalination treatment such as seawater desalination or shale gas accompanying water, solid particles such as algae and other microorganisms, carcasses and metabolites contained in the water are also separated by pretreatment. It is desirable to remove it.
更には、湖沼の浄化を目的として、水から藻類等の微生物を分離することも行われている。 Furthermore, for the purpose of purifying lakes and marshes, microorganisms such as algae are separated from water.
When solid-liquid separation is performed, a solid-liquid separation technique using a density difference between solid particles to be separated and a liquid serving as a dispersion medium is widely and generally performed. That is, when the density of solid particles is larger than the density of liquid, sedimentation separation is performed. On the other hand, when the density of the solid particles is smaller than the density of the liquid, levitation separation is performed. Further, when the density difference between the solid particles and the liquid is relatively small, centrifugal separation that promotes sedimentation and floating of the solid particles based on the same solid-liquid density difference as described above by using centrifugal force is performed. Widely done.
しかし、培養された細胞や微生物等、及び、水中に含まれている砂、粘土、コロイド、藻類やその他の微生物と、その死骸や代謝物は、粒径が小さく、更には、分散媒である培養液や水との密度差がないか又は該密度差が小さい粒子となっている場合がある。 However, cultured cells and microorganisms, and sand, clay, colloids, algae and other microorganisms contained in water, and their dead bodies and metabolites have a small particle size, and are also a dispersion medium. There is a case where there is no difference in density from the culture solution or water or the particles have a small density difference.
そのために、このような固体粒子は、沈降分離や浮上分離や遠心分離のような固液密度差を利用した従来の一般的な固液分離手法では、液体から分離させることが困難である。以降、本明細書において、液体との密度差が小さい固体粒子とは、固体粒子の密度と、液体の密度に、通常の遠心分離では固液分離が困難になる程度の密度差しかない場合の固体粒子を意味するものである。 For this reason, it is difficult to separate such solid particles from a liquid by a conventional general solid-liquid separation method using solid-liquid density differences such as sedimentation separation, flotation separation, and centrifugation. Hereinafter, in this specification, the solid particles having a small density difference from the liquid are solids in which the density of the solid particles and the density of the liquid are different from each other by a density that makes solid-liquid separation difficult by normal centrifugation. It means a particle.
ところで、剪断速度勾配を有する液体の流れの中に存在する固体粒子には、該固体粒子と液体との密度差の有無にかかわらず、サフマン揚力が作用することが知られている。 By the way, it is known that Suffman lift acts on solid particles present in a liquid flow having a shear rate gradient regardless of the density difference between the solid particles and the liquid.
In addition, a method for separating particles in a liquid on the basis of a certain separated particle diameter using Suffman lift has been proposed. This is because when a liquid permeation flow is formed in a permeable membrane, a liquid flow having a shear rate gradient in a direction along the membrane surface is generated on the upstream surface side of the membrane, and the separation particle size is reduced. The Suffman lift (shear lift) acting on the particles having a particle size corresponding to is equal to the permeate flow velocity of the membrane. According to such a method, particles having a particle size equal to or larger than the separation particle size are held on the upstream surface side of the membrane by the action of the Suffman lift, and thus have a particle size smaller than the separation particle size permeating the membrane. It is said that it can be separated from particles (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
ところが、特許文献1に示された手法は、液体中の粒子を粒径に応じて分離するための手法に過ぎず、液体との密度差がないか又は小さい固体粒子についての固液分離処理を行うものではない。
However, the technique disclosed in
更に、特許文献1には、透過性を有する膜のファウリング(目詰まり)に対する対策は何ら示されていない。
Furthermore,
そこで、本発明は、液体との密度差がないか又は小さい固体粒子を液体から分離させるための固液分離処理を、膜のファウリングを防止しながら長期に亘り安定して実施することができる固液分離装置を提供しようとするものである。 Therefore, the present invention can stably carry out a solid-liquid separation process for separating solid particles having no density difference from the liquid or small solids from the liquid over a long period of time while preventing fouling of the membrane. An object of the present invention is to provide a solid-liquid separator.

A cylindrical container, a rotating container having an end wall closing the lower end of the rotating cylindrical wall, the fixed cylindrical wall, an annular liquid filling space formed between the rotating cylindrical walls, and the liquid filling A stock solution inlet for supplying a stock solution containing particles provided at one end side in the axial direction of the space, a particle concentrate outlet provided near the outer periphery on the other end side in the axial direction of the liquid filling space, and the fixed cylindrical wall A clarified liquid recovery pipe having an upstream end connected to the inside thereof, and a differential pressure generating means for generating a differential pressure inside and outside of the fixed cylindrical wall so that the inner pressure is lower than the pressure of the outer liquid filling space And a rotation driving device that rotates the rotating container, and the rotation By rotating the rotating cylindrical wall of the vessel, a circumferential flow field having a shear rate gradient in which the flow rate gradually increases from the inner peripheral side toward the outer peripheral side is formed in the stock solution in the liquid filling space, The clarified liquid is concentrated near the outer periphery by the Suffman lift acting in the flow field and collected from the particle concentrate outlet, and the clarified liquid from which the particles are clarified is the fixed cylindrical wall. The fouling detection means for detecting the fouling situation in the porous filter medium of the fixed cylindrical wall, and the rotation drive based on the input from the fouling detection means A solid-liquid separator having a configuration including a control device that controls the reversal of the rotating container by the device.

According to the present invention, the following excellent effects are exhibited.
(1) In the solid-liquid separation device of the present invention, even if the particle has a small particle size or the solid-liquid density difference with the liquid of the dispersion medium or is a small particle, the stock solution containing the particle is continuously A solid-liquid separation treatment can separate and collect the particle concentrate containing the concentrated particles and the clarified liquid that has been clarified with respect to the particles. Therefore, the solid-liquid separation device of the present invention includes cultured cells, microorganisms, etc., and solid particles such as sand, clay, colloids, algae and other microorganisms contained in water, and dead bodies and metabolites thereof. A solid-liquid separation process for separating the liquid from a liquid such as a culture solution or water can be performed.
(2) Furthermore, the solid-liquid separator of the present invention reverses the direction of the circumferential flow field having a shear rate gradient generated in the liquid-filled space when fouling of the porous filter medium of the fixed cylindrical wall proceeds. Thus, since fouling can be removed (washed), the solid-liquid separation process can be performed stably over a long period of time.
以下、本発明を実施するための形態を図面を参照して説明する。 Hereinafter, embodiments for carrying out the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
図1及び図2は本発明の固液分離装置の実施の一形態を示すものである。 1 and 2 show an embodiment of the solid-liquid separation device of the present invention.
すなわち、本発明の固液分離装置は、図1及び図2に符号1で示すもので、上下方向に延びる円筒形状とした固定円筒壁2を備える。該固定円筒壁2は、周壁に備えた多孔質濾材を通して、後述する粒子(固体粒子)4を含む原液3より分離させる清澄液5を、該周壁の内外方向に透過させることができるようにしてある。なお、図示する便宜上、図1及び図2では粒子4のサイズを拡大して示してある(後述する図3も同様)。
That is, the solid-liquid separation device of the present invention is indicated by
When the porous filter medium is a material having strength and rigidity that can maintain the shape of the fixed
The outer side of the fixed
前記回転容器6の駆動軸9は、双方向回転が可能な回転駆動装置11に接続してある。これにより、該回転駆動装置11を運転させて前記駆動軸9と一体に前記回転容器6を周方向の一方向又は他方向へ回転駆動させると、前記液体充填空間10では、前記回転円筒壁7が、対向する固定円筒壁2に対して前記周方向の一方向又は他方向に連続的に相対移動する構成とされている。
The
For this reason, when the rotating
Similarly, when the rotating
Therefore, in the solid-
As shown in FIG. 1, the lower end portion, which is one end portion in the axial direction of the
A cylindrical
Thus, the upper end portion of the
In addition, when the
前記閉塞板14には、前記原液供給管12が上下方向に通して取り付けてある。更に、前記閉塞板14には、前記固定円筒壁2の内側より清澄液5を抜き出して回収するための清澄液回収管17の上流側端部が、上下方向に通して取り付けてある。前記閉塞板14における前記原液供給管12と清澄液回収管17の取付け部は、気密を保持させてある。
The undiluted
前記清澄液回収管17は、前記固定円筒壁2の内側の圧力が、外側の前記液体充填空間10の圧力よりも低くなるように該固定円筒壁2の内外に差圧を発生させるための差圧発生手段としてのポンプ18を備えている。
The clarified
In operation, the
前記固定円筒壁2の内側に取り出された清澄液5は、その後、前記清澄液回収管17へ吸引される。
The clarified liquid 5 taken out to the inside of the fixed
Therefore, the liquid suction amount from the clarified
前記流路仕切壁13及び固定円筒壁2が取り付けられている閉塞板14は、後述する外部固定容器19に図示しない支持材を介して支持させるか、あるいは、図示しない支持構造に支持させることで、位置が固定されている。これにより、前記固定円筒壁2と前記流路仕切壁13と閉塞板14は、前記回転容器6の回転に干渉する虞のない状態で、該回転容器6に対する相対位置を保持できる構成とされている。
The blocking
Outside the
The bottom of the external fixed
Furthermore, the solid-
本発明の固液分離装置1は、更に、前記ファウリング検出手段としての差圧計22より入力される前記差圧の計測結果を基に、前記回転容器6の回転駆動装置11の反転運転を制御する制御装置23を備えた構成としてある。
The solid-
次に、以上の構成を有する本発明の固液分離装置1を用いて行う固液分離処理の内容を説明すると共に、前記制御装置23の機能について説明する。
Next, the content of the solid-liquid separation process performed using the solid-
本発明の固液分離装置1を使用して固液分離処理を行う場合は、予め、回転容器6の内部、すなわち、液体充填空間10及び固定円筒壁2の内側に、液体、たとえば、前記原液3において粒子4の分散媒となっている液体を、回転円筒壁7の上端と一致するレベルまで貯留させておく。
When solid-liquid separation processing is performed using the solid-
この状態で、前記回転駆動装置11により、前記回転容器6の周方向の一方向、たとえば、図2における矢印r1方向への回転駆動を開始させる。これにより、前記液体充填空間10内の液体には、前記した内外周方向に剪断速度勾配g1を有する流れ場が、周方向の全域に亘り形成される。
In this state, the
その後、前記液体充填空間10には、原液供給管12を通して導かれる原液3を、原液入口12aから該液体充填空間10の下端部へ、連続的に供給させる。更に、清澄液回収管17では、ポンプ18の運転開始により、固定円筒壁2の内側の液体の連続的な吸引を開始する。
Thereafter, the
Thereby, in the

On the other hand, in the
前記固定円筒壁2の内側に取り出された清澄液5は、その後、前記清澄液回収管17を通して回収される。
The clarified liquid 5 taken out to the inside of the fixed
以上により、原液3に含まれていた粒子4を濃縮した粒子濃縮液16と、該粒子4についての清澄化が図られた清澄液5とを分離して回収する固液分離処理が行われる。

ところで、前記本発明の固液分離装置1では、前記固液分離処理を継続して行うと、前記清澄液5生成のための濾過処理を連続して行う固定円筒壁2の多孔質濾材に、ファウリングが生じる。
By the way, in the solid-
この際、前記固定円筒壁2では、前記多孔質濾材のファウリングが進行するにしたがって、前記固定円筒壁2の外側から内側へ液体を通過させるときの抵抗が次第に増加する。このため、前記多孔質濾材におけるファウリングの状況、すなわち、濾過性能の低下の状況は、前記差圧計22により計測される該固定円筒壁2の外側(液体通過方向上流側)と内側(液体通過方向下流側)との差圧を指標として判断することができる。
At this time, in the fixed
特に、一般に製品として販売されている濾過膜では、該濾過膜のファウリングの進行による濾過性能の低下に関して、性能回復が必要となる場合の該濾過膜の上流側と下流側の差圧について、メーカーが該濾過膜の特性の一つとして公表していることが多い。 In particular, in the filtration membrane generally sold as a product, regarding the reduction in filtration performance due to the progress of fouling of the filtration membrane, regarding the differential pressure between the upstream side and the downstream side of the filtration membrane when performance recovery is required, Manufacturers often publish as one of the characteristics of the filtration membrane.
そこで、前記制御装置23には、前記固定円筒壁2で用いられている多孔質濾材に関して、ファウリングの進行に伴う性能低下によって性能回復が必要とされる状態となるときの判断基準となる前記差圧について、或る設定値(閾値)を予め設定可能とする。
Therefore, the
更に、前記制御装置23は、前記判断基準となる或る設定値が予め設定された状態で、前記差圧計22より前記差圧の計測結果が入力されると、該差圧の計測結果と前記或る設定値とを比較する処理を行う。この比較の結果、前記差圧の計測結果が、前記或る設定値未満である場合は、前記制御装置23は、前記回転駆動装置11に対し、前記回転容器6をその時点での回転方向を保持した状態で回転を継続させる指令を与える。
Furthermore, when the measurement result of the differential pressure is input from the
On the other hand, when fouling in the porous filter medium of the fixed
As a result, the rotation direction of the
したがって、前記液体充填空間10では、原液3に含まれている粒子4に対して、図2に矢印fで示す方向(内周から外周に向かう方向)のサフマン揚力を、常に作用させたまま、該液体充填空間10内における前記原液3の周方向の流れ場の方向を反転させることができる。
Therefore, in the
これにより、前記液体充填空間10内では、前記原液3に含まれる粒子4の外周寄りへの濃縮を行いながら、原液3の周方向の流れ場の方向を反転させることにより、前記固定円筒壁2の多孔質濾材における該液体充填空間10に露出されている表面について、ファウリングが除去(洗浄)される。
Thus, in the
このようにして、前記ファウリングの洗浄が行われた固定円筒壁2の多孔質濾材では、濾過性能の性能回復が図られる。又、これに伴い、前記差圧計22では、前記固定円筒壁2の内外の差圧の計測結果の値が低下する。
Thus, in the porous filter medium of the fixed
なお、固定円筒壁2の多孔質濾材についてのファウリングの除去処理に伴って生じる粒子状物質は、前記サフマン揚力の作用により前記液体充填空間10内で外周寄りに移動させて、前記原液3中の粒子4の粒子濃縮液16と一緒に回収することができる。
In addition, the particulate matter generated in association with the fouling removal process for the porous filter medium of the fixed
その後、前記制御装置23は、前記回転容器6の回転方向が反転させられた条件の下で、前記したと同様に、前記差圧計22より入力される差圧の計測結果と、前記或る設定値とを比較して、差圧の計測結果が前記或る設定値未満である間は、前記回転容器6の回転方向を保持させ、一方、前記差圧の計測結果が、前記或る設定値に達すると、前記回転容器6の回転方向を反転させてから回転数を復帰させる指令を、前記回転駆動装置11に対して与える。
Thereafter, under the condition that the rotation direction of the
このように、本発明の固液分離装置1によれば、粒径が小さい粒子4、あるいは、分散媒の液体との固液密度差がないか又は小さい粒子4であっても、該粒子4を含む原液3を連続的に固液分離処理して、濃縮された粒子4を含む粒子濃縮液16と、該粒子4についての清澄化が図られた清澄液5とを分離して回収することができる。
As described above, according to the solid-
したがって、本発明の固液分離装置1は、培養された細胞や微生物等、及び、水中に含まれている砂、粘土、コロイド、藻類やその他の微生物と、その死骸や代謝物のような固体粒子を培養液や水などの液体から分離させるための固液分離処理を、実施することができる。
Therefore, the solid-
更に、本発明の固液分離装置1では、固定円筒壁2の多孔質濾材のファウリングが進行すると、液体充填空間10にて発生させる剪断速度勾配g1,g2を有する周方向の流れ場の方向を反転させることで、ファウリングの除去(洗浄)を行うことができるため、前記固液分離処理を、長期に亘り安定して実施することができる。
Further, in the solid-
Furthermore, in the
Furthermore, in the solid-
更に、本発明の固液分離装置1は、培養された細胞や微生物等の培養液からの分離回収を行う際、使用後の器具類の再滅菌の手間を省くためには、該本発明の固液分離装置1における前記回転駆動装置11及び制御装置23以外の各構成部材を、樹脂等の使い捨て可能な材料製としてもよい。
Furthermore, the solid-
次に、図3は本発明の実施の他の形態として、図1及び図2の実施の形態の固液分離装置1の応用例を示すものである。
Next, FIG. 3 shows an application example of the solid-
すなわち、本実施の形態の固液分離装置は、図3に符号1Aで示すもので、図1及び図2に示した固液分離装置1と同様の構成において、液体充填空間10の下端側に原液3の原液入口12aを設け、上端側に粒子濃縮液16の粒子濃縮液出口15を設けた構成に代えて、液体充填空間10の軸心方向一端部(上端側)を、原液3の入口側とし、軸心方向他端側(下端側)を、粒子濃縮液16の出口側とした構成としたものである。
That is, the solid-liquid separation device of the present embodiment is denoted by
本実施の形態にて、回転円筒壁7を備えた回転容器6と、その回転駆動装置11は、図1及び図2に示したものと同様の構成としてある。
In the present embodiment, the
前記回転円筒壁7の内側には、固定円筒壁2が同心状に配置してある。該固定円筒壁2は、図1及び図2の実施の形態における固定円筒壁2と同様に、多孔質濾材を備えた構成としてある。更に、該固定円筒壁2の上端部は、閉塞板14aにより気密に閉塞させてある。
A fixed
前記固定円筒壁2の外周面と、前記回転円筒壁7の内周面との間には、図1及び図2に示したと同様に、上下方向に延びる環状の液体充填空間10が形成してある。
An annular
前記液体充填空間10の軸心方向の一端部(上端部)には、前記固定円筒壁2と回転円筒壁7との間の開口部である原液入口24を設け、該原液入口24の上方に、図1及び図2に示したと同様の原液供給管12の下流側端部を配置させてある。これにより、前記液体充填空間10では、前記原液供給管12を通して導かれる原液3が、前記原液入口24より連続的に供給される。
A
At the other end portion (lower end portion) of the
When the
前記閉塞板14aには、前記粒子濃縮液回収管25が上下方向に貫通させて取り付けてある。更に、該閉塞板14aには、図1及び図2に示したと同様のポンプ18を備えた清澄液回収管17の上流側端部が、上下方向に貫通させて取り付けてある。前記閉塞板14aに対する前記粒子濃縮液回収管25と清澄液回収管17の取付け部は、気密を保持させてある。
The particle
なお、本実施の形態の固液分離装置1Aは、前記したように、粒子濃縮液16を、液体充填空間10の下端部より粒子濃縮液回収管25へ直接抜き出して回収するようにしてあることから、外部固定容器19は省略した構成としてある。
In addition, as described above, the solid-
その他の構成は図1及び図2に示したものと同様であり、同一のものには同一の符号が付してある。 Other configurations are the same as those shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, and the same components are denoted by the same reference numerals.
以上の構成としてある本実施の形態の固液分離装置1Aによれば、回転容器6の回転駆動により、回転円筒壁7と固定円筒壁2との間に形成される液体充填空間10に、内周側から外周側に向けて流速が次第に増加する剪断速度勾配を有する原液3の周方向の流れ場を形成できる。
According to the solid-
更に、前記回転容器6の回転駆動装置11を制御して、前記回転容器6の回転方向を反転させることにより、前記液体充填空間10内に形成させる原液3の流れ場の周方向の向きを、反転させることができる。
Further, by controlling the
したがって、本実施の形態の固液分離装置1Aによっても、図1及び図2に示した実施の形態の場合と同様に固液分離処理を行うことができる。よって、本実施の形態の固液分離装置1Aは、図1及び図2に示した実施の形態と同様の効果を得ることができる。
Therefore, also with the solid-
次いで、図4は本発明の実施の更に他の形態を示すもので、図3の実施の形態の固液分離装置1Aの応用例として、固定円筒壁2の内外に差圧を発生させるための差圧発生手段の別の例を示すものである。
Next, FIG. 4 shows still another embodiment of the present invention. As an application example of the solid-
すなわち、本実施の形態の固液分離装置は、図4に符号1Bで示すもので、図3に示した固液分離装置1Aと同様の構成において、液体充填空間10の上端部に、外部に開放された原液入口24を設ける構成に代えて、液体充填空間10の上端側を閉塞させると共に、該液体充填空間10の上端側に、原液供給管12を接続し、該原液供給管12に、差圧発生手段として原液3を圧送する形式のポンプ27を備える構成としたものである。
That is, the solid-liquid separation device of the present embodiment is indicated by
At the upper end side of the
前記液体充填空間10の上端側を覆う前記閉塞板14aの外周寄り部分には、原液供給管12の下流側端部が、前記液体充填空間10に開口するよう上下方向に貫通させて取り付けてある。前記閉塞板14aにおける前記原液供給管12の取付け部は、気密を保持させてある。本実施の形態の固液分離装置1Bでは、前記原液供給管12の下流側端部の前記液体充填空間10への開口を、原液入口28とする。
A downstream end portion of the stock
前記ポンプ27は、その運転で、原液供給管12を通して圧送する原液3を、前記原液入口28より前記液体充填空間10へ供給する。これにより、前記液体充填空間10の圧力が高くなるため、前記固定円筒壁2の内外には、前記固定円筒壁2の内側の圧力が、相対的に固定円筒壁2外側の前記液体充填空間10の圧力よりも低くなる差圧が発生する。
In operation, the
Further, in the solid-
その他の構成は図3に示したものと同様であり、同一のものには同一の符号が付してある。 Other configurations are the same as those shown in FIG. 3, and the same components are denoted by the same reference numerals.
以上の構成としてある本実施の形態の固液分離装置1Bによれば、図3に示した実施の形態と同様に使用して、同様の効果を得ることができる。
According to the solid-
In each of the above-described embodiments, the configuration in which the
In view of the fact that the amount of the liquid recovered as the clarified
更に、図1及び図2の実施の形態、図3の実施の形態では、液体充填空間10が外部に開放されている点に鑑みて、差圧計22として、固定円筒壁2の内側の圧力と、大気圧との差圧を計測する圧力計を用いるようにしてもよい。
Furthermore, in the embodiment of FIGS. 1 and 2 and the embodiment of FIG. 3, in view of the fact that the
又、本発明は前記実施の形態のみに限定されるものではなく、各実施の形態では、液体充填空間10の断面積や軸心方向寸法は、所望する原液3の処理量や固液分離効率に応じて適宜変更してよい。
In addition, the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments. In each embodiment, the cross-sectional area and the axial direction dimension of the
