Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a gas detection device having a MEMS type metal oxide semiconductor gas sensor. In particular, the present invention relates to correction of a variation in characteristics of a gas sensor due to a medium and high humidity environment.
Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2013-61227 discloses a MEMS type metal oxide semiconductor gas sensor in which a gas sensitive layer such as SnO 2 is covered with a selective combustion layer such as Pd—Al 2 O 3 . The gas sensor is periodically heated to around 500 ° C., which is the detection temperature of methane, and kept at room temperature for other periods. Such a gas sensor can be used for a battery-driven gas alarm device or the like.
Patent Document 2 (Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2007-279061) states that when a MEMS type metal oxide semiconductor gas sensor experiences a high temperature and high humidity atmosphere continuously for about 30 days, the resistance value in CO may increase. .
Patent Document 3 (Japanese Examined Patent Publication No. 61-6933) discloses performing zero point correction on the output of a gas sensor.
When the zero point correction to the gas sensor is performed as in
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION An object of the present invention is to accurately correct the influence of a resistance value variation caused by experiencing a medium / high humidity atmosphere by correcting the gas detection level while confirming that the medium / high humidity atmosphere is present.

In the present invention, the alarm level is increased based on both an increase in the resistance value of the metal oxide semiconductor in the air and that the ambient humidity is not low. For this reason, when the resistance value of the metal oxide semiconductor increases due to humidity, the alarm level can be accurately increased. The sensor output may be a resistance value of a metal oxide semiconductor or a voltage to the load resistance itself. Similarly, the alarm level may be a resistance value of a metal oxide semiconductor, a voltage to a load resistance, or the like. In the present invention, the alarm level is shown to increase as the resistance value increases and decrease as the resistance value decreases. Humidity is relative humidity, the humidity experienced by metal oxide semiconductors. In the present invention, since the metal oxide semiconductor is always kept at room temperature and is intermittently heated for a short time, it is not relative humidity but relative humidity that affects the metal oxide semiconductor. The boundary between the low humidity and the medium / high humidity may be determined as appropriate. For example, a humidity of less than 50% is low humidity, 50% or more, less than 80% is medium humidity, and 80% or more is high humidity. Note that an increase in alarm level may be allowed only at high humidity.
Preferably, the humidity discrimination means discriminates that the humidity is not low because the time constant at which the resistance value of the metal oxide semiconductor decreases when the temperature of the metal oxide semiconductor is raised from room temperature is a predetermined time or more. Is configured to do.
When the temperature of the metal oxide semiconductor is raised from room temperature or the like to the gas detection temperature, the resistance value of the metal oxide semiconductor decreases. The time constant at which the resistance value decreases is affected by the surrounding humidity, and the time constant increases as the humidity increases. 6 shows the waveform of the resistance value when the temperature is raised from room temperature to 250 ° C., FIG. 7 shows the waveform of the resistance value when the temperature is raised from room temperature to 500 ° C. As the time constant increases. When the humidity is low, in addition to the time constant being shortened, there is a phenomenon in which the resistance value increases again after showing the minimum value, and this phenomenon is not seen at high humidity, and this phenomenon is seen at medium humidity. Not or weaken. Therefore, it can be confirmed whether the humidity is low or not from the presence or absence of the minimum resistance value and the rate of increase thereafter. However, since the minimum resistance value occurs even in other gases such as ethanol, it is not preferable to determine whether or not the humidity is low based on the presence or absence of the minimum value without using a time constant.
Preferably, the gas detection device includes a humidity sensor that detects ambient humidity. The humidity sensor may be one in which a moisture sensitive film is provided on a Si chip of a MEMS metal oxide semiconductor gas sensor. In this way, by adding a humidity sensor, it is possible to determine whether the surrounding atmosphere is low humidity or medium high humidity.
Alternatively, preferably, the gas detection device includes a calendar including a timer for determining the season. That is, when the season is determined by the timer, the rainy season to summer is a high humidity season, the Pacific side is autumn to spring the dry season (low humidity season), the Japan Sea side is autumn and spring is the low humidity season, etc. Can estimate low humidity or not.
Particularly preferably, a memory for storing an initial value of the alarm level is provided, and the resistance value of the metal oxide semiconductor in the air is increased. The alarm level generation unit is configured to keep the alarm level at or above the initial value when it is decreasing.
If the alarm level is less than the initial value, there is a possibility of missing the detection target gas. Therefore, by keeping the alarm level at or above the initial value, it is not necessary to make a correction so as to miss the detection target gas. Note that storing the initial value of the alarm level includes storing the value that can be converted to the alarm level, such as the initial value R0 of the reference value in the embodiment, in addition to storing the initial value itself.
In the following, an optimum embodiment for carrying out the present invention will be shown.
1 to 9 show an embodiment. FIG. 1 shows a gas detection device, where E1 is a power source battery, which may be a primary battery or a secondary battery, T1 and T2 are switches such as transistors, S is a MEMS metal oxide semiconductor gas sensor, RL is a load resistance, μ1 is a microcomputer.
FIG. 2 shows a MEMS metal oxide semiconductor gas sensor S (hereinafter referred to as gas sensor S) with the housing and the like omitted. F is a filter made of fibrous activated carbon, granular activated carbon, silica gel, zeolite, etc., and adsorbs miscellaneous gas such as ethanol, poison gas such as siloxane, and adsorbs or absorbs water vapor, around the metal oxide semiconductor. Relieves humidity fluctuations. The filter F may carry an oxidation catalyst such as Pt, oxidize miscellaneous gas, and decompose poisonous gas.
FIG. 3 shows a microcomputer μ1, and 12 is a heater drive that controls the switch T1 to supply power to the
The reference
When the resistance value Rair in air is larger than the reference value RSTD, the reference value RSTD is increased. The old reference value RSTDo and constant K (K is positive, for example, about 0.1 to 0.5), and the new reference value RSTDn is (Rair-RSTDo) · K + RSTDo. It is preferable to follow the delay while increasing the value Rair. As a result, the influence of temporary fluctuation of the resistance value Rair in the air can be reduced. The increase in the resistance value of the metal oxide semiconductor at medium and high humidity proceeds, for example, with a time constant of one month or more, but by selecting the value of K, the rate of updating the reference value can be increased. It is possible to match the increase in the resistance value of the semiconductor, and to reduce the influence of temporary resistance value fluctuations.
The
The
Instead of determining the humidity by the
The operation of the gas detection device is, for example, in a cycle of 30 seconds, and power is applied to the heater for 100 msec, the temperature is raised to the detection temperature of methane, and the others are left at room temperature. Note that the temperature may be raised to a humidity detection temperature (for example, 150 to 300 ° C.) before the temperature is raised to the methane detection temperature. The humidity detection temperature may be raised only when sampling the resistance value in the air, for example, or it may be raised once a day. The humidity is discriminated based on the detected methane temperature, and about 250 ° C. The temperature rise to (humidity detection temperature) may be omitted. The Vc drive 14 adds the detection voltage Vc when reading the output VRL of the gas sensor.
FIG. 4 shows an initial setting of the gas detection device. In
FIG. 5 to FIG. 9 show the correction of the alarm level Rb, and the gas detection device is initially set. In step 11, the resistance value Rair in the air is sampled, and in
FIG. 6 shows a resistance waveform when the temperature of the metal oxide semiconductor is raised from room temperature to 250 ° C., and FIG. 7 shows a waveform of the resistance value when the temperature of the metal oxide semiconductor is raised from room temperature to 500 ° C. Show. In any of the figures, the lower the humidity, the shorter the time constant at which the resistance value decreases, and an undershoot of the resistance value is observed. Note that the type of the metal oxide semiconductor is SnO 2 — (Pt—Pd).
Therefore, it is preferable to confirm the low humidity by the degree of undershoot, that is, the depth of the minimum value of resistance, the increase rate of resistance from the minimum value, and the like (step 13). Steps 11 to 13 need not be performed in a 30-second cycle, and the frequency of executing
FIG. 8 shows the influence of humidity on the resistance value of a metal oxide semiconductor. It responds reversibly to humidity in the short term, and when the humidity increases, the resistance value of the metal oxide semiconductor decreases, and when it increases, the resistance value decreases. However, when the high humidity state continues for a long time, the resistance value of the metal oxide semiconductor increases.
Compare the current reference value RSTD and the resistance value Rair in the sampled air (step 14). If Rair> K1 · RSTD (K1 is a constant greater than 1), increase the reference value RSTD,
If Rair <K2 · RSTD (K2 is a positive constant less than 1), decrease the reference value RSTD,
When Rair is an intermediate resistance value, the reference value RSTD is not changed (
In the embodiment, the following effects can be obtained.
1) The resistance drift of metal oxide semiconductors at medium and high humidity can be corrected.
2) Since it is determined and corrected that the humidity is not low, there is no correction even if the resistance drifts for any reason in low humidity.
3) A humidity sensor is not required, and it can be determined that the humidity is not low by using the signal of the MEMS metal oxide semiconductor gas sensor.
4) Since correction is performed on the side that corrects the increase in resistance value, it may cause false detection, but it does not cause detection gas to be missed.
