Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to optical fiber winding and holding, and more particularly, to a reel for optical fiber winding and holding, an optical fiber wound body in which an optical fiber is wound around the reel, and a winding method thereof.
The optical fiber is usually prepared for use while being wound around a reel. When the optical fiber is manufactured, the entire length thereof is wound around a bobbin, and a length suitable for use is drawn from the bobbin and wound on a reel. The reel is rotated by a winder to wind the optical fiber. Therefore, the optical fiber receives tension due to the rotation of the reel during winding, but it is not preferable for the characteristics of the optical fiber to be held on the reel with the tension. The optical fiber characteristics cannot be measured and inspected correctly under conditions. Therefore, Patent Document 1 discloses a reel that can be wound and held on the reel in a loose state by removing the tension of the optical fiber after being wound on the reel.
The reel disclosed in Patent Document 1 has a short cylindrical body portion on which an outer peripheral surface around which an optical fiber is wound is formed, and radially outward from the body portion at both axial ends of the body portion. It has a pair of flanges that project and form an annular plate shape. A pin-like member insertion hole is formed as a small hole in the flange at a radial position close to the outer peripheral surface at one place in the circumferential direction.
In order to wind the optical fiber around the reel disclosed in Patent Document 1, prior to winding, the pin-shaped member is fitted into the pin-shaped member insertion hole of the reel. By inserting the pin-like member, the pin-like member is positioned so as to extend in the axial direction in the vicinity of the outer peripheral surface of the reel body, and a protrusion is formed on the outer peripheral surface at one place in the circumferential direction. It will be in the state.
When the optical fiber is wound around a reel in which such a pin-shaped member is inserted, the optical fiber is in close contact with the cylindrical outer peripheral surface except the position of the pin-shaped member in the circumferential direction to form a wound layer. At the position of the pin-shaped member, the pin-shaped member is wound up by the diameter of the pin-shaped member. Although the tension at the time of winding remains in the optical fiber at the end of winding, it is raised at the position of the pin-like member, so the length of one round of fiber is longer than one round of the outer peripheral surface. Yes.
After the winding is completed, the pin-shaped member is extracted. As a result, the optical fiber has an extra length that is longer than one round of the outer circumferential surface, and the winding on the outer circumferential surface becomes loose and released from the tension.
Such a reel for winding an optical fiber has a relatively small diameter because it is sufficient to wind an optical fiber having a length suitable for use. On the other hand, many reels are produced. Therefore, it is required that the reel can be manufactured at low cost. In general, synthetic resin is integrally molded for this purpose.
When a cylindrical product is made by integral molding of synthetic resin, especially when a hole for a shaft is formed in the reel, the molding die is divided in the axial direction.
However, in the reel of Patent Document 1, annular plate-like flanges are provided on both side ends of the cylindrical body, and such a reel is made only by the mold divided in the axial direction. I can't. In Patent Document 1, there is a description that the reel is composed of an injection-molded product formed of a thermoplastic resin. For this purpose, the reel is positioned on the outer surface side of the flange in the axial direction and is contacted and separated in the axial direction. In addition to the mold divided in such a manner, a mold having a semi-cylindrical surface divided so as to be in contact with and away from the inner surface side of the flange, that is, the body portion located between both flanges in the diametrical direction is also included. This necessitates complicated molds and molding processes, and the reel is expensive. In addition, when a mold that is divided in the diameter direction is used, there is a possibility that a molding burr may appear on the outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical portion of the reel at the contact portion between the molds, and the roundness may not be ensured.
Further, in Patent Document 1, a pin-shaped member is fitted into the reel before winding the optical fiber to form a protruding portion at one location on the outer peripheral surface of the reel, and the pin-shaped member is extracted after winding. Thus, an extra length is given to the wound optical fiber, and as a result, an optical fiber winding body free from tension is obtained. However, the characteristics of optical fibers are likely to change or deteriorate due to deformation as well as stress. Therefore, even if the optical fiber wound on the reel according to Patent Document 1 is released from the tension, the contact portion with the pin-like member is locally deformed with a large degree of deformation by the small-diameter pin-like member. Thus, the influence tends to remain even after the pin-shaped member is extracted. Such local deformation remains unfavorably affecting the characteristics of the optical fiber.
In view of such circumstances, the present invention provides a reel that can be easily manufactured at a low cost only with a die divided in the axial direction, and without causing local deformation on the reel. It is an object of the present invention to provide an optical fiber wound body wound without a wire and a winding method.
According to the present invention, the above-described problems are solved by a reel for winding an optical fiber according to the following first invention, an optical fiber wound body according to the second invention, and an optical fiber winding method according to the third invention. Is done.
<First invention>
The reel for winding an optical fiber according to the first invention is provided at a cylindrical portion where a cylindrical outer peripheral surface for winding and holding the optical fiber is formed, and at both side end positions in the axial direction of the cylindrical portion. And a flange portion.
In such a reel, in the first invention, the flange portion includes a flange piece extending radially outward from the outer circumferential surface of the cylinder at a plurality of positions in the circumferential direction, and a notch portion between adjacent flange pieces in the circumferential direction. It is formed, and the flange piece at one side end position is located within the circumferential range of the notch portion at the other side end position.
In 1st invention, the flange piece in one side end position is located in the circumferential direction range of the notch part in the other side end position. Accordingly, after the mold is arranged in the axial direction toward the other side end position at the position that becomes the other side end position and the flange piece at the one side end position is molded, the mold is Then, it can be extracted in the direction of the one side end position in the axial direction through the cutout portion of the other side end position positioned corresponding to the flange piece. That is, the flange piece at the other side end position does not become an obstacle to the extraction of the mold. Therefore, in the present invention, the reel can be formed only by a mold that contacts and separates in the axial direction, and a conventional mold that contacts and separates in the diametrical direction is not necessary when forming the flange portion. With only a small number of dies, the reel can be easily formed without complicating the arrangement of the dies. In addition, in the present invention, as described above, a mold that contacts and separates in the diametrical direction is not necessary, so that molding burr cannot be formed on the cylindrical outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical portion that forms the winding surface, and the roundness is accurate It becomes.
In the first invention, the reel also has an annular disc portion extending radially inward from the inner diameter of the cylindrical portion, and a cylindrical inner shaft portion extending in the axial direction from the inner diameter of the annular disc portion. Is preferred. By providing the inner shaft portion in this manner, when the optical fiber is wound around the reel, one end on the winding start end side of the optical fiber is wound and supported on the inner shaft portion. It becomes possible.
In the first invention, the inner shaft portion of the reel is provided with a restriction projection protruding radially outward on the outer peripheral surface of the inner shaft portion, and the annular disk portion faces the restriction projection in the axial direction. It is preferable that a hole penetrating in the axial direction is formed at the position. By providing the restriction protrusion in this manner, the optical fiber wound around the inner shaft portion can be prevented from coming off in the axial direction by the restriction by the restriction protrusion. Further, the restriction projection is formed by placing a mold in the axial direction from the annular disk portion side, and after the formation of the restriction projection, the mold is pulled out in the axial direction through the hole, The regulation protrusion can be formed.
In the first invention, the cylindrical portion of the reel is preferably formed such that a groove portion that opens in the axial direction at the side end penetrates the cylindrical portion in the radial direction within a circumferential range where the notch portion is formed. . By forming such a groove portion, the end portion of the optical fiber can be introduced from the outer peripheral surface of the cylinder toward the inner shaft portion through the groove portion, and the end portion of the optical fiber can be accommodated in the cylindrical portion.
In the first invention, the annular disk portion of the reel is preferably provided with a locking hole for fitting engagement of a drive pin for rotating the reel when the optical fiber is wound. By forming the locking hole, the drive pin provided on the rotation driving member that rotationally drives the reel for winding the optical fiber is fitted and engaged with the locking hole of the reel, so that the reel is driven to rotate. Can be made.
In the first invention, the reel is preferably formed of an antistatic material (a material having antistatic properties) or an antistatic material layer is provided on the surface of the reel. For example, when a photoelectric conversion connector containing a semiconductor such as a photoelectric conversion element is connected to the end of the optical fiber, the reel is formed of an antistatic material, or an antistatic material layer is applied to the surface of the reel. Thus, the semiconductor of the photoelectric conversion connector can be prevented from being charged and the semiconductor can be protected.
The reel is divided and joined into two half-reel bodies on a plane perpendicular to the axial direction, and the flange piece of one half-reel body is located in the circumferential range of the notch part of the other half-reel body. Preferably it is. Thus, by constituting one reel by joining two half-reel bodies, the degree of freedom of the shape of the reel related to molding can be increased.
The two half-reel bodies have a symmetrical shape with respect to a plane perpendicular to the axial direction, and the flange piece of one half-reel body is coupled to the notch of the other half-reel body at a position corresponding to the circumferential direction. Preferably it is. By making the two half-reel bodies symmetrical with respect to the plane perpendicular to the axial direction, the two half-reel bodies can be formed in the same shape with one type of mold, Compared with the case where the reel bodies have different shapes, the number of molds for forming the half reel body can be reduced and the molds can be miniaturized.
<Second invention>
An optical fiber wound body according to a second invention includes a cylindrical portion formed with a cylindrical outer peripheral surface for winding and holding an optical fiber, and flange portions provided at both side end positions in the axial direction of the cylindrical portion. An optical fiber is wound around a reel having
In such an optical fiber wound body, in the second invention, a flange portion extends radially outward from the outer circumferential surface of the cylinder at a plurality of positions in the circumferential direction, and a notch between adjacent flange pieces in the circumferential direction. The flange piece at one side end position is located within the circumferential range of the notch at the other side end position, and has an arc-shaped cross section in a plane perpendicular to the axial direction. None The claw portion of the jig having a claw portion extending in the axial direction is externally fitted in the axial direction from the cutout portion to the cylindrical outer peripheral surface at a circumferential position corresponding to the cutout portion, and on the cylindrical outer peripheral surface. After the optical fiber is wound around the outer peripheral surface of the claw portion, the claw portion is pulled out in the axial direction, and the wound optical fiber remains on the outer peripheral surface of the cylinder.
The optical fiber wound body according to the second aspect of the present invention is the optical fiber winding body in which the optical fiber is nipped in the axial direction so that the claw portion of the jig is located on the cylindrical outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical portion of the reel through the notch portion. After the winding, the claw portion is pulled out in the axial direction and the jig is removed, so that the wound optical fiber is wound by the amount that the claw portion is pulled out. Uniformly loose in direction, tension is released, and no local deformation occurs in the optical fiber. Therefore, since no undesirable influence is exerted on the characteristics of the optical fiber, it is possible to correctly measure and inspect the characteristics of the optical fiber under the winding condition.
In the second invention, a connector (for example, an optical connector or a photoelectric conversion connector) is connected to each of the winding start end and winding end of the optical fiber, and the connector connected to the winding start end is accommodated in the cylindrical portion. It is good to be.
<Third invention>
An optical fiber winding method according to a third aspect of the present invention includes a cylindrical portion formed with a cylindrical outer peripheral surface for winding and holding an optical fiber, and flange portions provided at both side end positions in the axial direction of the cylindrical portion. An optical fiber is wound around a reel having
In such an optical fiber winding method, in the third invention, a flange portion extends radially outward from the outer circumferential surface of the cylinder at a plurality of positions in the circumferential direction, and a notch between adjacent flange pieces in the circumferential direction. After the optical fiber is wound around the outer peripheral surface of the claw portion, the claw portion is pulled out in the axial direction, and the wound optical fiber is left on the outer peripheral surface of the cylinder.
As described above, according to the present invention, with respect to the reel, the flange portion is formed by flange pieces provided at a plurality of positions in the circumferential direction on both side ends in the axial direction and notches between the flange pieces, The flange piece at the side end position is located in the circumferential range of the notch at the other side end position. Therefore, when molding a reel using a mold, the mold can be pulled out from the notch in the axial direction after molding, so that it is possible to use a small number of molds and complex mold placement. This makes it possible to easily form a reel without having to. In the present invention, the optical fiber winding method and the wound body are arranged in a state where the claw portion of the jig is positioned on the cylindrical outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical portion of the reel from the notch portion. Since the fiber is wound around the claw portion on the cylindrical portion, and after the winding, the claw portion is pulled out and the jig is removed, so that the wound optical fiber is circumferentially removed by the amount that the claw portion is pulled out. Uniformly loosens, tension is released, and no local deformation occurs in the optical fiber. Therefore, since no undesirable influence is exerted on the characteristics of the optical fiber, it is possible to correctly measure and inspect the characteristics of the optical fiber under the winding condition.
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
<First embodiment>
The reel 1 according to this embodiment is configured to wind and hold an optical fiber F (see FIG. 4). In this embodiment, the optical fiber F is a cable in which a coated optical fiber core wire is covered with an electrical insulating material, and after being wound around the reel 1, photoelectric conversion connectors (FIG. 4) are provided at both ends thereof. The connectors C1, C2) are attached. The form of the optical fiber F is not limited to this, and coating or coating is not essential, and the connector may not be attached. Further, the connectors C1 and C2 may be optical connectors instead of the photoelectric conversion connectors.
The reel 1 is formed by molding by forming an electrical insulating material such as synthetic resin so that the entire reel forms one member. As shown in FIG. 1, the reel 1 includes a
The
The
The
The
The
The
The
The reel 1 having such a configuration is manufactured by integrally molding with an electrical insulating material using two molds (not shown) divided so as to be in contact with and separated from each other in the axial direction of the reel 1. Specifically, the two molds are placed in contact with each other in the axial direction, and after the molten electrical insulating material is injected and solidified between the molds, the two molds are moved in the axial direction. By pulling out so as to be separated from each other, the entire reel 1 is integrally formed as one member.
In the present embodiment, as described above, the
Therefore, in the present embodiment, the reel 1 can be formed only by a mold that contacts and separates in the axial direction, and a mold that contacts and separates in the diametrical direction as in the related art becomes unnecessary. With this mold, the reel can be easily formed without complicating the mold arrangement. Further, in the present embodiment, a die that contacts and separates in the radial direction of the reel is not required, so that a molding burr cannot be formed on the cylindrical outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical portion that forms the winding surface, and the roundness is accurate. Become.
Next, a
The
The plurality of
The diameter of the mounting
The plurality of drive pins 24 are positioned corresponding to the locking holes 14 </ b> A of the reel 1, and when the reel 1 is attached to the
Next, an operation for winding and holding the optical fiber F around the reel 1 will be described. First, the operator inserts the mounting
Next, an operator pulls out one end portion of the optical fiber F wound around the bobbin as a start end side, and inserts it into one of the plurality of
Next, the reel 1 attached to the
When the length of the optical fiber F wound around the
Next, after cutting the optical fiber F, the reel 1 around which the optical fiber F is wound is removed from the
After removing the reel 1 from the
<Second embodiment>
The entire reel 1 according to the first embodiment is formed as a single member, but the reel according to the second embodiment is formed by combining two members divided in the axial direction. Different from form. The form of winding the optical fiber around the reel according to this embodiment is the same as in the first embodiment, and the optical fiber is wound by rotating the reel with the jig attached to the jig having the claw portion.

Thus, in this embodiment, since two half reel bodies were joined together and one reel was completed, the freedom degree of the shape of a reel can be increased.
