Abstract
Description
以上、発明の好ましい実施形態について説明したが、発明は上述した実施形態に何ら制限されることなく、以下に例示するように種々変形して実施することが可能である。各実施形態で具体的に組合せが可能であることを明示している部分同士の組合せばかりではなく、特に組合せに支障が生じなければ、明示してなくとも実施形態同士を部分的に組み合せることも可能である。
Claims (9)
- 内燃機関(10)の排気に含まれるNOxを還元触媒上で浄化するNOx浄化装置(15)が排気通路(10ex)に備えられた燃焼システムに設けられ、前記排気通路のうち前記還元触媒の上流側へ還元剤を添加する還元剤添加装置において、
燃料を供給する燃料供給装置(33)と、
前記燃料供給装置から供給された燃料を酸素と反応させることに伴い水素を生成させる水素生成触媒を有した触媒装置(41)と、
前記還元触媒が所定温度(T2)以上である場合には、前記触媒装置による水素生成を停止させつつ、前記燃料供給装置から供給された燃料を前記還元剤として前記排気通路へ添加する高温時制御手段(S16)と、
前記還元触媒が前記所定温度未満である場合には、前記触媒装置により水素を生成させて前記排気通路へ添加しつつ、前記燃料供給装置から供給された燃料を前記還元剤として前記排気通路へ添加する低温時制御手段(S15)と、
を備えることを特徴とする還元剤添加装置。 - 前記燃料供給装置から供給された燃料を燃焼させて前記水素生成触媒を温度上昇させる燃焼装置(42)と、
前記還元触媒が前記所定温度未満であり、かつ、前記水素生成触媒が活性化温度(T3)未満である場合に、前記燃焼装置を作動させる暖機制御手段(S43)と、
を備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の還元剤添加装置。 - 前記暖機制御手段により前記燃焼装置を作動させる場合には、当量比が1未満である燃料リーンの状態で、燃料と空気の混合気を前記燃焼装置へ供給することを特徴とする請求項2に記載の還元剤添加装置。
- 前記燃焼装置へ燃料を供給する通路に設けられ、前記燃焼装置による燃焼が前記通路の上流側へ伝播することを防止する逆火防止装置(43)を備えることを特徴とする請求項2または3に記載の還元剤添加装置。
- 前記触媒装置により水素を生成させる場合には、当量比が1より大きい燃料リッチの状態で、燃料と空気の混合気を前記触媒装置へ供給することを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれか1つに記載の還元剤添加装置。
- 空気中の酸素を放電により電離させる電極(21)を有し、その電離させた酸素により、前記燃料供給装置から供給された燃料を酸化させて高活性物質に改質する放電リアクタ(20)を備え、
前記排気通路へ添加する燃料および前記触媒装置へ供給する燃料には、前記放電リアクタにより改質された燃料が用いられることを特徴とする請求項1〜5のいずれか1つに記載の還元剤添加装置。 - 前記高温時制御手段により、前記放電リアクタで改質された燃料を前記排気通路へ添加する場合には、当量比が1未満である燃料リーンの状態で、燃料と空気の混合気を前記放電リアクタへ供給することを特徴とする請求項6に記載の還元剤添加装置。
- 前記燃料供給装置からの燃料供給を停止させることで、前記放電リアクタにより電離された酸素からオゾンを生成させ、そのオゾンを前記排気通路へ添加するオゾン生成制御手段(S13)を備え、
前記還元触媒が活性化温度未満である場合には、前記低温時制御手段による水素および燃料の添加を停止させつつ、前記オゾン生成制御手段によるオゾンの添加を行うことを特徴とする請求項7に記載の還元剤添加装置。 - 前記燃料供給装置から供給された燃料を、前記触媒装置を経由して前記還元剤として前記排気通路へ導く触媒通路部材(52)と、
前記燃料供給装置から供給された燃料を、前記触媒装置をバイパスして前記還元剤として前記排気通路へ導くバイパス通路部材(51)と、
前記触媒通路部材および前記バイパス通路部材による各々の通路の開閉状態を切り替える切替弁(50)と、
前記高温時制御手段による制御時には、前記触媒通路部材による通路を閉弁させるとともに前記バイパス通路部材による通路を開弁させ、前記低温時制御手段による制御時には、前記触媒通路部材による通路を開弁させるよう、前記切替弁の作動を制御する切替弁制御手段(S30、S42、S52)と、
を備えることを特徴とする請求項1〜8のいずれか1つに記載の還元剤添加装置。
