Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a failure analysis support device, a failure analysis support method, and a program.
Information processing systems in companies and data centers are complex and large-scale. As a result, when a failure occurs in those information processing systems, it is difficult to analyze the failure. The failure analysis is, for example, an operation for identifying the type, the range of influence, the seriousness, or the cause of the failure that has occurred. The cause of the failure is, for example, an operation for specifying whether the failure is caused by a hardware failure or a software bug.
As a technique for analyzing a failure, there is generally a technology that uses a knowledge database that stores past failure cases. Specifically, the system administrator searches the knowledge database and examines past cases corresponding to the failure that has occurred.
Here, a method for analyzing a failure of an information processing system is disclosed in
When a failure occurs in the information processing system, a plurality of event messages indicating the occurrence of the event are generated. Here, in the information processing system, the number of occurrences of the same failure is small. In addition, due to a change in the state of the information processing system, external load fluctuation, and the like, the observed event message pattern varies even for the same failure. However, in the method of comparing the pattern of the past event message and the pattern of the event message recorded when the failure occurs, such a variation in the message pattern is not considered. Therefore, with such a method, it is difficult to search past cases corresponding to the occurred failure without omission.
For example, in the method described in
The present invention has been made in consideration of such points, and an object of the present invention is to provide a technology that makes it possible to search past failure cases corresponding to event patterns without omission.

<Event pattern classification
The event pattern classification
There are various events handled by the failure
As described above, the plurality of events indicated by the event pattern are ordered. There are various rules for this ordering. For example, events are arranged in the order in which they occurred. In addition, for example, events may be arranged in the order of importance of events.
For example, the event pattern classification information is information in which an event pattern recorded when a failure has occurred in the past is associated with a failure type determined by analyzing the failure. The failure
However, the information indicated by the event pattern classification information is not limited to information that has actually occurred in the past. For example, the event pattern classification information may be information in which a failure type is associated with an event pattern that is predicted to occur when a failure of that failure type occurs.
There are various methods by which the event pattern classification
FIG. 2 is a diagram illustrating a configuration example of event pattern classification information. In FIG. 2, the event pattern classification information is shown as an event pattern classification information table 100. The event pattern classification information table 100 includes an
For example, the first record of the event pattern classification information table 100 associates the event pattern “A, a, B, Z, L” with the failure type AAA0001.
<Candidate event
The candidate event
<Comparison pattern
The comparison pattern
The comparison pattern
As a result, the comparison pattern represents a plurality of event patterns that may occur when a failure corresponding to the first failure type occurs. Specifically, the comparison pattern represents a plurality of event patterns in which each event included in the event or candidate event group to which the rank is assigned is arranged for each rank. The number of the plurality of event patterns shown in the comparison pattern is larger than the number of the plurality of event patterns shown by the event pattern classification information that is the source.
Furthermore, the comparison pattern
FIG. 3 is a diagram illustrating a configuration example of comparison pattern information. In FIG. 3, the comparison pattern information is represented as a comparison pattern information table 200. The comparison pattern information table 200 has a
<具体例>
<Specific example>
Hereinafter, the operation of the failure
FIG. 4 is a diagram conceptually illustrating a method for generating candidate event groups. The candidate event
In this case,
FIG. 5 is a diagram conceptually illustrating a comparison pattern generation method.
The comparison pattern
On the other hand, the comparison pattern
結果として、比較パターン情報生成部2060は、「(A,a)、(A,a)、B、Z、(L,P)」という比較パターンを生成する。
As a result, the comparison pattern
In the comparison pattern “(A, a), (A, a), B, Z, (L, P)”, the first event is A or a, the second event is A or a, The third event represents B, the fourth event is Z, and the fifth event is L or P. As described above, the comparison pattern generated by the comparison pattern
The comparison pattern can be used to determine the failure type of the event from the event pattern acquired when the failure occurs. For example, it is assumed that this event pattern completely or partially matches a certain comparison pattern. In this case, this event pattern is presumed to be an event pattern indicating that a failure corresponding to the failure type associated with this comparison pattern has occurred. For example, it is assumed that an event pattern “A, A, B, Z, L” is acquired when a failure occurs. This pattern matches the comparison pattern described above. Therefore, it can be inferred that the type of failure that has occurred is AAA0001.

<Action and effect>
Even if a plurality of failures are of the same type, the events that occur when those failures occur are not necessarily the same. The comparison pattern generated by the failure
Here, the comparison pattern can be used for comparison with an event pattern acquired when a failure occurs. For example, when this event pattern completely or partially matches a certain comparison pattern, it can be inferred that this event pattern indicates a failure corresponding to the failure type associated with this comparison pattern. Here, as described above, the comparison pattern generated by the failure

Here, FIG. 9 is an example in which the
The
Note that the above evaluation function for adding similarity according to the degree of coincidence is an example, and other evaluation functions may be defined separately. Alternatively, the user may directly input other functions using an input device (not shown).
<Dissimilar
The dissimilar
For example, the dissimilar
The operation of the dissimilar
First, among the combinations shown in FIG. 9, the first to sixth lines represent the combinations of events included in the

The event related
The related information associated with the event is, for example, a component in which the event has occurred. The component indicates, for example, software or hardware. For example, when a component related to an event indicates hardware, this indicates that the event is an event generated by hardware. Further, for example, the component indicates the computer in which the event has occurred, and the type and name of hardware or software included in the computer. In addition, for example, the constituent element may indicate an element constituting the information processing system in which the event has occurred. For example, when a certain information processing system has a plurality of computer groups, the components of the system indicate these computer groups. In addition, for example, the component represents a software layer in which an event has occurred. The software layer is, for example, a software hierarchy such as an OS (Operating System) layer, a middleware layer, or an application layer.

Here, the node is a computer. Further, this record indicates that the group “Node” belongs to the configuration type “HW (Hardware)”.
In addition, for example, the record in the fourth row of the configuration information table 500 indicates that the elements Node1 and Node2 belong to a subgroup AP (Application) Layer. At the same time, this record indicates that the group called System Layer belongs to the configuration type called HW.
In addition, the record on the 11th line of the configuration information table 500 indicates that the elements AP001 and AP002 belong to the subgroup MW0001. At the same time, this record indicates that the group MW belongs to the configuration type SW (Software).

Here, the priority corresponding to the relationship of related information is, for example, the importance of the relationship of related information. <Failure
The failure
For example, in the specific example described in the sixth embodiment, the failure
Further, the failure
<Process flow>
FIG. 26 is a flowchart illustrating a flow in which the failure analysis support apparatus according to the seventh embodiment outputs a failure case. In FIG. 26, the processes in steps S602 to S606 are the same as the processes in steps S602 to S606 shown in FIG.
In step S702, the failure
In step S704, the failure
<Action and effect>
According to this embodiment, based on a failure type determined to correspond to the event pattern to be inspected, a failure case corresponding to the failure type is output. Therefore, by using the failure
Here, the failure
As mentioned above, although embodiment and modification of this invention were described with reference to drawings, these are illustrations of this invention, the combination of the said embodiment and modification, and various structures other than the said embodiment and modification Can also be adopted.
Furthermore, the present invention can be applied not only to analysis analysis support for information processing systems but also to analysis support for various incidents. Specifically, the incident type is made to correspond to the failure type described above, and the event pattern related to the incident is made to correspond to the event pattern described above. By doing so, the present invention is an apparatus that determines the type of an incident based on the pattern of events related to the incident, and outputs past incident cases corresponding to that type. By doing this, it is possible to search past incident cases corresponding to the event pattern related to the incident without omission.
