Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grommet capable of improving waterproofness.SOLUTION: In a grommet 1, an inner wall 15 is disposed and formed inside a cylindrical outer wall 8 at an inner member 2 and on a distortion side of a wire harness 4, and an abutting position between the inner wall 15 and the wire harness 4 is set at a position making a direction of action/reaction force generally parallel to a panel member 6. Therefore, even if a distortion is generated on the wire harness 4, the wire harness 4 abuts on the inner wall 15, and force for tilting an outer member 3 is prevented from acting on the inner member 2.

Description

The present invention relates to a grommet including an inner member and an outer member.

The grommet prevents contact between the opening and the wire harness (linear member) when the wire harness is inserted into the opening of the panel member, and further prevents moisture from entering the panel member. Used (see, for example, Patent Document 1 below). Hereinafter, the configuration and structure of a conventional grommet will be described.

4 and 5, the grommet 101 includes an inner member 102 made of a hard material and an outer member 103 made of a soft material. The grommet 101 is attached to the panel member 104 in a watertight (liquid tight) manner with the outer member 103 integrated with the outer side of the inner member 102.

The inner member 102 includes a cylindrical outer wall 105 formed in a cylindrical shape, a plurality of lock portions 108 formed on the one end 106 side and outside of the cylindrical outer wall 105 and hooked on the opening 107 of the panel member 104, and a cylindrical shape Engaging portions 110 and 111 are formed on the other end 109 side of the outer wall 105 and engage with the outer member 103.

The outer member 103 is arranged so as to correspond to the other end 109 side of the cylindrical outer wall 105 and includes wire harness insertion portions 114 and 115 through which the wire harnesses 112 and 113 are inserted, and engagement portions 110 and 111 of the cylindrical outer wall 105.

4 and 5, the grommet 101 is bent as shown by an arrow P in FIG. 4, and the bent wire harness 112 is, for example, one end of the cylindrical outer wall 105 at a position where the lock portion 108 is not formed. When it contacts 106, it has the following problems. That is, in the contact portion, the direction of the force applied by the wire harness 112 is the direction indicated by the arrow Q, so that one end 106 of the cylindrical outer wall 105 is pushed in the direction of the arrow Q. There is a problem in that the inclination and the contact pressure between the panel member 104 and the seal portion 118 are lowered, and moisture enters.

This invention is made | formed in view of an above-described situation, and makes it a subject to provide the grommet which can aim at the improvement of waterproofness.

That is, since it is an inner wall further having a curved surface portion, it is possible to prevent damage even if the linear member is bent and comes into contact.

It is sectional drawing which shows the grommet of this invention. It is a top view of a grommet. It is sectional drawing which shows the state of a grommet when a wire harness bends. It is a grommet of a prior art example, and is sectional drawing which shows a state when a wire harness bends. It is a top view of the grommet of a prior art example.

The grommet includes an inner member made of a hard material and an outer member made of a soft material. The inner member has a cylindrical outer wall, and is formed by arranging an inner wall on the inner side of the cylindrical outer wall and on the bending side of the linear member. The abutting position of the inner wall is set to a position where the direction of the action and reaction is substantially parallel to the panel member.

Hereinafter, embodiments will be described with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional view showing a grommet of the present invention. 2 is a plan view of the grommet, and FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view showing a state of the grommet when the wire harness is bent.

In the following description, specific shapes, materials, numerical values, directions, and the like are examples for facilitating the understanding of the present invention, and can be appropriately changed according to use, purpose, specifications, and the like. To do.

1 and 2, the grommet 1 includes an inner member 2 made of a hard material and an outer member 3 attached to the outside of the inner member 2. The outer member 3 is made of a soft material. The grommet 1 prevents contact between the opening 7 and the wire harnesses 4, 5 when the wire harnesses 4, 5, which are examples of linear members, are inserted into the openings 7 of the panel member 6. Used to prevent moisture from entering the member 6. First, each member will be described.

The inner member 2 is made of a hard material as described above. Specifically, it is made of a resin molded product that is rigid with respect to the outer member 3 and has insulating properties in this embodiment. In addition, the inner member 2 may be called an inner grommet. Such an inner member 2 has a cylindrical outer wall 8.

The cylindrical outer wall 8 is a portion that forms the outer wall of the inner member 2 and is formed in a substantially cylindrical shape. The cylindrical outer wall 8 is formed to have a size sufficient to allow the wire harnesses 4 and 5 to pass therethrough so that one end 9 and the other end 10 are opened.

In addition, although the cylindrical outer wall 8 of a present Example has the taper-shaped thick part 11, for example, thickness is formed unevenly, it shall not be specifically limited to this.

A flange portion 12 and a plurality of lock portions 13 are formed at one end 9 of the cylindrical outer wall 8. The flange portion 12 is formed as an annular portion parallel to the panel member 6. The flange portion 12 is used as, for example, a pressing surface when the inner member 2 is pushed into the outer member 3 and attached.

In the present embodiment, three lock portions 13 are formed at intervals of 120 degrees. The lock part 13 is formed in an arm-shaped locking part having flexibility. Specifically, the base end portion is coupled to the outside at the one end 9 and is formed in a cantilevered arm shape that gradually opens outward toward the distal end portion. A locking portion 14 that is hooked on the opening 7 of the panel member 6 is formed at the tip. The locking portion 14 is formed in a step shape.

The cylindrical outer wall 8 has an inner wall 15 disposed on the inner side. Specifically, the inner wall 15 is disposed and formed inside the one end 9 of the cylindrical outer wall 8. Further, the inner wall 15 is disposed and formed so as to be positioned on the bending side of the wire harness 4. The inner wall 15 is formed as a portion that contacts when the wire harness 4 is bent. The inner wall 15 is formed as a feature of the present invention.

The inner wall 15 is arranged and formed at a position that connects two lock portions 13 among the three lock portions 13. The inner wall 15 is formed in a bridge shape. In addition, the inner wall 15 is formed in a straight shape.

Since the inner wall 15 is disposed at a position that connects the lock portions 13 to each other as described above and is formed in a bridge shape, it can also be referred to as a “bridge portion”. As can be seen from the drawing, the inner wall 15 is not a part for partitioning the wire harnesses 4 and 5.

An abutting position that abuts when the wire harness 4 is bent is set on the inner wall 15. This contact position is set as follows. That is, the direction of the force applied by the wire harness 4 is set at a position where the arrow Q (see FIG. 3) is provided. Specifically, the direction in which the force is applied is set to a position that is substantially parallel to the panel member 6.

The inner wall 15 will be described in more detail. The inner wall 15 has a guide portion 16 and a curved surface portion 17. The guide portion 16 is disposed at the contact position that contacts when the wire harness 4 is bent. The guide portion 16 is formed so as to extend in a substantially vertical direction with respect to the panel member 6. Moreover, the guide part 16 is formed so that the wire harness 4 or the wire harness 4 in the bent state can be guided.

The guide portion 16 may be formed so as to extend to the other end 10 side of the cylindrical outer wall 8 (in this case, the inner wall 15 is not a bridge shape but a wall shape, It is not necessary to be particular about the shape of the bridge, which is more effective than the wall shape in terms of material cost, for example).

The curved surface portion 17 is formed as a portion continuous with the guide portion 16. Further, the curved surface portion 17 is formed so that this cross section has an arc as when a circle is ¼ (this is an example, and a tapered shape may be used, for example). Furthermore, the curved surface portion 17 is formed so that the outer surface of the wire harness 4 can be prevented from being damaged even when the curved surface portion 17 comes into contact with the wire harness 4 when it is bent.

An engaging portion 18 is formed at the other end 10 of the cylindrical outer wall 8. The engaging portion 18 is formed as a portion that engages with the outer member 3. The engaging portion 18 is formed as an annular portion parallel to the panel member 6. That is, it is formed into a flange shape.

The outer member 3 is made of a soft material as described above. In this embodiment, it is made of a molded product of rubber or elastomer having insulating properties. In addition, the outer member 3 may be called an outer grommet. Such an outer member 3 has a base portion 19 that engages with the outside of the inner member 2 and an outer edge portion 20 that is integrally formed with the base portion 19.

The base portion 19 is formed as a portion that covers the other end 10 side of the cylindrical outer wall 8. In such a base portion 19, wire harness insertion portions 21 and 22 (linear member insertion portions) are formed as portions through which the wire harnesses 4 and 5 are inserted. Further, the base portion 19 is formed with an engaged portion 23 with which the engaging portion 18 of the cylindrical outer wall 8 is engaged.

The wire harness insertion parts 21 and 22 are formed in a cylindrical shape. The inner surfaces of the wire harness insertion portions 21 and 22 are formed so as to be in close contact with the outer surfaces of the wire harnesses 4 and 5. The engaged portion 23 is disposed and formed inside the base portion 19. The engaged portion 23 is formed according to the shape of the engaging portion 18 of the cylindrical outer wall 8. Specifically, it is formed in a shape having an annular groove portion 24 and a flange surface contacted portion 25.

The outer edge portion 20 is disposed and formed on the lock portion 13 side of the inner member 2. Further, the outer edge portion 20 is formed as an annular portion that is continuous with the outer edge of the base portion 19. In such an outer edge portion 20, seal portions 26 and 27 that are brought into contact with the panel member 6 to be in a watertight (liquid tight) state and contact portions 28 that are in contact with the outer surface of the cylindrical outer wall 8 are formed. .

The outer edge portion 20 of the present embodiment has seal portions 26 and 27 as a waterproof portion having a double structure, and further has a contact portion 28 as an auxiliary function portion for waterproofing. The seal portions 26, 27, etc. are not limited to the illustrated shapes and numbers. The seal part 26 has a plurality of lips (reference numerals omitted).

Next, the operation of the inner wall 15 which is a characteristic part of the present invention will be described based on the above configuration and structure.

In FIG. 1, when the grommet 1 is attached to the opening 7 of the panel member 6 by a known method, for example, the wire harness 4 is inserted into the opening 7 in a non-contact state. In the state where the grommet 1 is attached, the intrusion of moisture into the panel member 6 is prevented.

In FIG. 3, for example, when an external force is applied to the wire harness 4 and bending in the direction of arrow P occurs, the wire harness 4 comes into contact with the inner wall 15 and the bending is restricted. The acting direction of the force from the wire harness 4 to the inner wall 15 at the time of contact is the arrow Q direction. Therefore, the wire harness 4 does not apply a force that causes the outer member 3 to be inclined with respect to the inner member 2.

As described above with reference to FIGS. 1 to 3, according to the grommet 1 according to the present invention, the contact pressure between the seal portion 26 of the outer member 3 and the panel member 6 can be favorably maintained. Thus, there is an effect that the waterproof property can be improved.

Moreover, according to the grommet 1 which concerns on this invention, since the inner wall 15 is arrange | positioned and formed in the position which connects the locking parts 13 provided in the bending side of the wire harness 4, the state of this inner wall 15 can be stabilized. There is an effect that can be done.

Moreover, according to the grommet 1 which concerns on this invention, since the inner wall 15 is formed in the shape used as bridge shape, there exists an effect that waterproofness can be aimed at by minimum structure addition.

Moreover, according to the grommet 1 which concerns on this invention, since it is the inner wall 15 which has the guide part 16, there exists an effect that the wire harness 4 of the bent state can be guided, for example.

Moreover, according to the grommet 1 which concerns on this invention, since it is the inner wall 15 which has the curved-surface part 17, there exists an effect that damage can be prevented even if the wire harness 4 bends and contacts, for example.

It goes without saying that the present invention can be variously modified without departing from the spirit of the present invention.
