Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a plastic label and a manufacturing method thereof.
Examples of the plastic label attached to an adherend such as a container include a shrink label, a stretch label, a tack label, a wound label, and an in-mold label. These labels include, for example, a color ink layer for displaying product names, designs, precautions, etc., and a colorless transparent ink layer for imparting functions such as scratch resistance, slipperiness, and adhesiveness. Provided on a substrate.
As disclosed in Patent Document 1, the alignment of the ink layer on the label base material is performed using a printing register mark, a color contact mark, or a mark called a register mark (hereinafter referred to as a register mark). For example, when a plurality of types of printing ink are used, a plurality of register marks are formed corresponding to each ink. The position of the register mark is determined by irradiating light of a predetermined wavelength onto the area where the mark on the label base material is formed, and the light reflection angle, reflected light quantity, transmitted light quantity between the part where the mark is formed and the part where the mark is not formed. Detected by reading the difference.
FIG. 8 shows
Each of the
By the way, the register mark corresponding to the colorless transparent ink layer is detected using ultraviolet rays because it is difficult to detect with visible light. However, the difference between the refractive index and the transmittance with respect to ultraviolet rays is small between the mark and the label substrate, and therefore, the amount of ultraviolet rays detected by the light receiving element hardly changes depending on the presence or absence of the register mark. For example, only a weak pulse can be generated. Therefore, it may not be easy to detect the register mark. In addition, when the label substrate is made of a polylactic acid resin, detection of such a mark is particularly difficult.
As mentioned above, it is difficult to detect the register mark corresponding to the colorless transparent ink layer. For example, the colorless transparent ink layer is formed over the entire area of the label base material without using the register mark. Has been formed with possible correspondence.
That is, an object of the present invention is to provide a technique for easily detecting a register mark corresponding to a colorless transparent ink layer. Thereby, a colorless and transparent ink layer can be formed in an appropriate position with an arbitrary pattern.
In the method for producing a plastic label according to the present invention, a colorless transparent ink layer is partially formed on a label substrate using an ink containing an ultraviolet absorber, and at the same time a register mark having the same composition as the ink layer is formed. A first step of irradiating the register mark with ultraviolet rays, detecting the ultraviolet rays that are partially absorbed by the ultraviolet absorbent contained in the mark and reducing the amount of ultraviolet rays; A second step of acquiring positional information of the colorless and transparent ink layer.
According to the above configuration, since the ultraviolet light applied to the register mark is absorbed by the ultraviolet absorber, the register mark corresponding to the colorless transparent ink layer can be easily detected. That is, the amount of ultraviolet rays detected by the light receiving element changes depending on the presence or absence of the register mark. In addition, since an ultraviolet absorber does not absorb visible light, the colorless transparency of a colorless transparent ink layer is not impaired. Thereby, a colorless transparent ink layer can be formed so that it may become an appropriate position.
In the first step, it is preferable that the absorption rate of the ultraviolet rays by the register mark is set to 5% or more. In the first step, it is preferable that the ultraviolet absorber is contained in an amount of 1.5% by weight to 30% by weight with respect to the total weight of the colorless and transparent ink layer. According to this configuration, the register mark can be easily detected, and the colorless and transparent ink layer can be printed with high accuracy.
In the first step, the register mark can be formed thicker than the colorless and transparent ink layer. According to this configuration, even when the thickness of the colorless and transparent ink layer is thin or the content of the ultraviolet absorber is limited, only the register mark is formed thick so that the mark can be easily detected.
The label base material used in the production method of the present invention is composed of, for example, a polylactic acid resin as a main component. The production method of the present invention is particularly useful when a label substrate made of a polylactic acid resin, which is difficult to detect a register mark, is used.
The plastic label according to the present invention comprises a label substrate and a colorless transparent ink layer partially formed on the label substrate, and the colorless and transparent ink layer is 1.5 to 30 with respect to the entire layer. It is characterized by containing an ultraviolet absorber in weight%. Further, it is preferable that the label base material is composed of a polylactic acid resin as a main component, and the colorless and transparent ink layer is composed mainly of an acrylic resin.
According to the present invention, the register mark corresponding to the colorless and transparent ink layer can be easily detected. Thereby, alignment of a colorless and transparent ink layer becomes easy and it becomes possible to form a colorless and transparent ink layer by arbitrary patterns.

The color ink layers 12 and 13 constitute a design print layer for displaying product names, illustrations, usage precautions, and the like (hereinafter referred to as “design”). The color ink layers 12 and 13 can be formed in an arbitrary pattern according to the design. Further, depending on the design, three or more color ink layers may be formed, or one layer may be formed. In the example shown in FIG. 1, the

Among these, those which absorb a long wavelength region (UV-A) of ultraviolet rays having a wavelength of 315 to 400 nm (hereinafter sometimes referred to as “UV light”) are suitable, and for example, a benzotriazole ultraviolet absorber is preferred. . Examples of the commercially available products include benzotriazole ultraviolet absorbers (TINUVIN; registered trademark) manufactured by BASF.

A manufacturing method of the
FIG. 3 shows a first step in which a colorless
In the manufacturing process of the
Specifically, first, the
In the process of forming the
The
Note that the register mark is formed simultaneously with the ink layer, not only when it is strictly the same, but also in a state in which the positional relationship between the register mark and the ink layer (a plurality or a single label portion 20) is maintained. There may be some time lag as far as possible. When there is plate making such as gravure printing or flexographic printing, for example, an ink layer formed by one plate making (for example, during one rotation of plate making) and a corresponding register mark are formed simultaneously. It can be regarded as a thing.
The
Subsequently, the
Subsequently, a colorless and
The colorless and
As shown in FIG. 5A, the

First, the register marks 24 and 22 are detected by irradiating the
As shown in FIG. 6, the UV light emitted from the
The
Since the
If the interval between the pulses caused by the register marks 24 and 22 is the same as the target interval, it means that the formation position of the colorless and
Finally, the long
The shape of the register mark is not limited to the triangular shape in plan view illustrated in FIG. 3, and as illustrated in FIG. 7, T-shaped (a) in plan view, substantially L-shaped (b) in plan view, and cross in plan view The mold (c) may be used. Each mark consists of two elongated rectangular mark portions in plan view, and the longitudinal directions of the mark portions are orthogonal to each other. In this case, one mark portion is used for detection of printing deviation in the MD direction, and the other mark portion is used for detection of printing deviation in the TD direction.

A PLA-based shrink film (Made by Mitsubishi Plastics, Pravio, thickness 35 μm) is used as the long substrate, and two kinds of color ink layers are formed on a part of the substrate as shown in FIG. 1 by a gravure printing machine. Then, a colorless transparent ink layer and corresponding register marks were formed at the same time to obtain a label 1 (long body).
The two types of color ink layers are color inks having different pigments (PS-985, manufactured by Sakata Ink Co., Ltd.), and the colorless transparent ink layer is an acrylic transparent whose main component of the binder resin is an acrylic resin. A long ink using an ink (manufactured by Sakata Ink, PS-985 after-label varnish, solid content: 18.3% by weight) added with a benzotriazole ultraviolet absorber (BASF, TINUVIN234) The ink was applied with a gravure printing machine (printing speed; 300 m / min) while being transported in the longitudinal direction, and dried. The color ink layer of the plate making used, the cell group corresponding to the colorless transparent ink layer, and the cell group corresponding to the register mark were engraved plate 70 L / cm and angle 0.
The addition amount of the ultraviolet absorber was adjusted to 2.5% by weight with respect to the total weight of the colorless and transparent ink layer. The thickness of the register mark was substantially the same as the thickness of the colorless and transparent ink layer, and was 0.3 μm.
For label 1, the following measurement methods were used to evaluate the UV light cut rate of the register mark and the alignment accuracy. The evaluation results are shown in Table 1.
[UV light (365 nm) cut rate]
The cut rate of UV light with a wavelength of 365 nm ( referred to as CR365 ) of the register mark (marked as R) corresponding to the colorless and transparent ink layer is based on a spectrophotometer (manufactured by Shimadzu Corporation, UV-2450). The UV light transmittance of the portion where the mark R on the material was formed was measured and obtained from the following equation.
C R365 (%) = 100−transmittance of the portion where the mark R is formed on the substrate−C B365
C B365 is the UV light cut rate (%) of the base material, and was determined from the UV light transmittance of the base material (portion where each ink layer was not formed) (C B365 = 100−transmission of the base material) rate).
As a result, the UV light cut rate of the mark R was 7.6%.
