Abstract
【解決手段】画像表示装置2Aは、(1) 複数の単位画素組21が2次元配列され、これら複数の単位画素組21それぞれが複数個の部分画素22を含む表示パネル20と、(2) 周期的に並列配置された複数個の単位レンズ11を含み、単位画素組21に対応して単位レンズ11が設けられており、表示パネル20を物体面として該物体面上の画像を像面上に結像するレンズ部10と、(3) レンズ部10と表示パネル20との間に設けられ厚さが可変である空気層33と、(4)空気層33の厚さを調整する調整手段41と、を備える。

Claims (6)
- 互いに垂直な第1方向および第2方向の双方に平行な面上に複数の単位画素組が2次元配列され、前記複数の単位画素組それぞれが前記第2方向に沿って配列された複数個の部分画素を含む表示パネルと、
各々前記第1方向に延在し共通の構成を有し前記第2方向に周期的に並列配置された複数個の単位レンズを含み、前記第2方向について前記単位画素組に対応して前記単位レンズが設けられており、前記表示パネルを物体面として該物体面上の画像を像面上に結像するレンズ部と、
前記レンズ部と前記表示パネルとの間に設けられ厚さ又は屈折率が可変である可変層と、
前記可変層の厚さ又は屈折率を調整する調整手段と、
を備えることを特徴とする画像表示装置。 - 前記可変層が空気層であって、前記調整手段が該空気層の厚さを調整する、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の画像表示装置。
- 前記可変層が流体層であって、前記調整手段が該流体層の厚さ又は屈折率を調整する、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の画像表示装置。
- 前記可変層が、前記表示パネル側の第1層と前記レンズ部側の第2層とに挟まれ、前記第1層,前記第2層および形状可変部材により閉空間を構成しており、その閉空間内に流体が充填されている、ことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の画像表示装置。
- 観測位置までの距離を測定する測距センサを更に備え、
前記調整手段が前記測距センサによる距離測定結果に基づいて前記可変層の厚さ又は屈折率を調整する、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の画像表示装置。 - 前記レンズ部および前記可変層を含むM個の層が前記表示パネル上に存在し、
前記M個の層のうちの第mの層の厚さtmおよび屈折率nm、前記レンズ部から観測位置までの距離L1、前記表示パネルにおける前記第2方向に沿った前記部分画素の幅Wg、ならびに、前記像面における前記第2方向に沿った前記部分画素の像の幅Weの間に、WgL1=WeΣ(tm/nm) なる関係が成り立つように、前記調整手段が前記可変層の厚さ又は屈折率を調整する、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の画像表示装置(ただし、Mは2以上の整数、mは1以上M以下の各整数)。
