Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a novel polar group-containing allyl monomer copolymer and a method for producing the same.
Polymerization of a monomer having an allyl group is difficult as compared with a vinyl monomer, and its polymer is hardly known. The main reason is that when an allyl group-containing monomer is radically polymerized, the degenerative chain transfer to the monomer suppresses the polymer growth reaction, and only oligomers with a low degree of polymerization are obtained (Chem. Rev. ., 58, 807 (1958) (Non-Patent Document 1)).
JP-A-58-49792 (Patent Document 1) discloses ethylene / allyl acetate copolymers and ethylene / allyl acetate / vinyl acetate terpolymers as hydrocarbon oil compositions. The synthesis method is a radical polymerization method, which is a low molecular weight substance having an intrinsic viscosity of about 0.12 dl / g.
J. Am. Chem. J. Am. Chem. Soc., 133, 1232 (2011) (Non-Patent Document 2) describes copolymers of ethylene and allyl compounds such as allyl alcohol, allyl acetate, allylamine, and allyl chloride. However, their molecular weight (Mn) is less than 7,000, and the molecular weight is small for use as a polymer compound.
An object of the present invention is to provide a high-molecular-weight, high-rigidity polar group-containing allyl copolymer having a novel structure, which has been considered difficult to synthesize in other polymerization modes such as radical polymerization, and a method for producing the same. It is in.

(D) It has a carbon-carbon double bond at least at one end of the main chain.
(E) The molar ratios n, m, and k of the monomer units represented by general formula (1), general formula (2), and general formula (3) are as follows:
The polymer of the present invention is represented by the monomer units represented by the general formula (1) and the general formula (2), and further represented by the general formula (1), the general formula (2), and the general formula (3) as necessary. It has a structure in which a linear copolymer with very few branches composed of monomer units other than the monomer unit is crosslinked with the monomer unit represented by the general formula (3).
First, in the copolymer having a crosslinked structure of the present invention, a portion excluding the monomer unit represented by the general formula (3), that is, the monomer unit represented by the general formula (1) and the general formula (2). The copolymer will be described.
In the present invention, the term “branch” means a group having 2 or more carbon atoms, and is a side chain derived from a monomer (corresponding to R 1 in the general formula (1) and —CH 2 in the general formula (2)). -Corresponding to -R 2 ) and the monomer units represented by the general formula (3) do not count as branches. For example, when 1-butene is copolymerized as an olefin compound, the ethyl group is a side chain, but this is not branched. The same applies to the case where monomer units other than the monomer units represented by general formula (1), general formula (2), and general formula (3) are included.
Unsaturated double bonds can be confirmed by NMR analysis of the copolymer. The terminal unsaturated bond is highly reactive and can be modified with a functional group, formed into a block copolymer, converted into a star polymer, and the like, so the copolymer of the present invention is extremely useful.
According to the method for producing a polar group-containing allyl monomer copolymer having a crosslinked structure according to the present invention, the polar group-containing allyl monomer copolymer having a number average molecular weight Mn in terms of polystyrene of 7,000 or more and 1,000,000 or less. Coalescence can be obtained. Such a copolymer can be subjected to various molding methods. The number average molecular weight Mn is more preferably from 7000 to 500,000, and even more preferably from 10,000 to 300,000, from the balance between moldability and strength.
The content of the monomer unit represented by the general formula (3) (mol% = {k / (m + n + k)} × 100) is preferably 0.1 mol% or more and 10 mol% or less. By the monomer unit represented by the general formula (3), the monomer unit represented by the general formula (1) and the general formula (2), and if necessary, the general formula (1), the general formula (2), and the general formula ( The molecular weight is further increased by cross-linking a very little branched linear copolymer comprising monomer units other than the monomer unit shown in 3). When there are too few monomer units shown by General formula (3), the effect which increases molecular weight will be small. If the amount is too large, the cross-linking becomes complicated (network structure), and the effect of increasing the molecular weight relative to the amount added becomes small. In this respect, 0.2 to 5.0 mol% is more preferable. When there are a plurality of types of monomer units represented by the general formula (3), the total value of these monomer units is k.
The content of the monomer unit represented by the general formula (2) (mol% = {m / (m + n + k)} × 100) is preferably 0.1% mol or more and 50 mol% or less. The content of the monomer unit represented by the general formula (2) is more preferably 0.5 to 15.0 mol%, and preferably 1.0 to 10.0 mol from the viewpoint of melt viscosity and molding conditions similar to those of polyethylene. % Is more preferable. When a plurality of types of monomer units represented by the general formula (2) are present, the total value of these monomer units is m.
Moreover, the 4th monomer unit may be contained other than the compound monomer unit shown by General formula (1), General formula (2), and General formula (3). Specific examples of the fourth monomer unit include monomer units derived from acrylic acid, acrylic acid ester, methacrylic acid ester, acrylonitrile, vinyl acetate, styrene, vinyl ether and the like. Furthermore, a monomer unit formed by inserting only one of the two carbon-carbon double bonds of the hydrocarbon compound represented by the general formula (6), that is, the general formula (7)
A monomer unit represented by may be present. In this case, “k + r” is read as k.
When all the monomer units represented by the general formula (2) are saponified, m 2 = 0. The ratio between m 1 and m 2 can be adjusted by the degree of saponification. In the saponification reaction of the copolymer of the present invention, the copolymer is dissolved or dispersed in a solvent in the same manner as the saponification reaction of polyvinyl acetate or ethylene / vinyl acetate copolymer, and in the presence of water or alcohol, It can be performed by treatment with acid or alkali.
The copolymer can be formed into a pellet shape, a film shape, a sheet shape, or the like under the same conditions as those of a normal thermoplastic resin.
The obtained copolymer can be made into a product by a molding method such as injection molding, extrusion molding or film molding. Alternatively, it can be used as a modifier for surface properties such as adhesion and printability, a compatibilizer between nonpolar polyolefin and other highly polar resins, and a dispersant such as pigment by adding to polyolefin. Alternatively, it can be used as a paint, ink, adhesive, binder, plasticizer, lubricant, lubricating oil, surfactant, and the like.
