Description
The present invention realizes stabilization of the DC output of the power supply by feeding back the DC output of the power supply generated by rectifying the output of the resonator to the carrier wave that drives the resonator.
As a power source that generates a voltage using a resonator, for example, there is a power source that generates a DC high voltage using a piezoelectric transformer as a resonator. When the output voltage is stabilized using the frequency dependence of resonance, the output voltage is fed back to the frequency of the carrier wave that drives the resonator. The frequency of the carrier that achieves a given output voltage will vary over a wide range depending on the load, especially for light loads that correspond to frequencies that are far from the resonant frequency.
Patent Document 1 aims to provide a simple circuit configuration of an efficient direct current high voltage power supply device that provides a stabilized high voltage, and the direct current high voltage power supply is not an ordinary electromagnetic transformer, By adopting high voltage generation means using a piezoelectric transformer, the efficiency is improved, and the frequency dependence of the resonance characteristics of the piezoelectric transformer is used to stabilize the high voltage, thereby simplifying the circuit and reducing the number of parts. Solve the problem by measuring the decrease.
Patent Document 2 relates to a DC high-voltage power supply device, and for feedback that stabilizes the output voltage of the device, by implementing feedback with little delay independent of feedback with a large delay accompanying the generation of a high voltage, Improves voltage stabilization accuracy and speeds up response.

Patent Document 5 is a PCT international application based on Patent Documents 3 and 4.
Patent Document 6 relates to a stabilized DC voltage power supply. In stabilization using the frequency dependence and amplitude dependence of resonance in a resonator, feedback of an output voltage error to the frequency of a carrier wave driving the resonator is disclosed. And the circuit constants of the power supply with the output voltage error feedback to the amplitude of the carrier wave driving the resonator.
Patent Document 7 is an extension of Patent Document 2, and is based on the inventions of Patent Documents 3, 4, 5, and 6. Specific feedback to the frequency and amplitude of the output voltage carrier is given.
Patent Document 8 is a corresponding patent application that has been transferred to Japan in Patent Document 6.
For example, in a voltage source, when the error between the output voltage and the reference voltage is fed back to the frequency and amplitude of the carrier wave that drives the resonator, the error is small in the steady state of feedback, and therefore the carrier wave amplitude is also approximately constant. become. For this reason, it is difficult to limit the range in which the frequency of the carrier wave that changes according to the load changes to a certain range where the efficiency of the resonator is good. Efficiency is improved by realizing stable feedback that can limit the frequency of the carrier wave to a certain range regardless of the load.
When the output voltage is stabilized, the output current is fed back to the carrier wave amplitude, and when the output current is stabilized, the output voltage is fed back to the carrier wave amplitude to cause a change in the output current or output voltage. The range in which the frequency of the carrier wave changes is limited. Since the voltage source and the current source have a dual relationship, the voltage source will be specifically described below.
The output from the resonator driven by a carrier having an approximately constant amplitude is an alternating current, and the frequency of the alternating current matches the frequency of the carrier, but the amplitude of the alternating current exhibits resonance characteristics with respect to the frequency of the carrier. Therefore, the DC voltage generated by the AC rectification output from the resonator depends on the frequency of the carrier wave. That is, the DC voltage increases as the frequency of the carrier wave approaches the resonance frequency of the resonator, and decreases as it moves away.
The amplitude of the alternating current output from the resonator is approximately proportional to the amplitude of the carrier wave. For this reason, the DC voltage generated by the output AC rectification depends on the frequency and amplitude of the carrier wave. The relationship between the frequency and amplitude of a carrier wave that realizes a constant DC voltage is determined when one is determined.
For example, as a practical feedback that is easy to stabilize, when the error between the output voltage and the reference voltage is fed back to the carrier frequency by a transfer function with a pole at the origin, the error is Consider the case where you have not been returned to. In this case, the amplitude is approximately unchanged, so the amplitude remains at its initial value. In the feedback steady state, the output voltage and the reference voltage are approximately equal, and the frequency of the carrier wave driving the resonator, that is, the driving frequency, depends on the amplitude and the load, that is, the output current.
Furthermore, when the error is fed back to the amplitude by a transfer function with no poles at the origin, the output voltage and the reference voltage are approximately equal in the steady state of the feedback, so the error is approximately zero, and the error amplitude Return to is void. That is, in the steady state, the amplitude is equal to the initial value. In the steady state, the carrier amplitude is equal to the initial value regardless of the load or output current.
In the steady state, the amplitude of the carrier wave is approximately equal to the initial value regardless of the output current of the power supply, so the frequency of the carrier wave changes according to the output current. That is, the frequency approaches the resonance frequency when the output current increases, and leaves when the output current decreases.
Driving the resonator with a carrier wave having a frequency far from the resonance frequency reduces the efficiency. In order to keep the efficiency of the resonator within a certain range regardless of the output current, it is necessary to limit the frequency of the carrier wave to a certain range. By stably feeding back the output current to the amplitude of the carrier wave, the range in which the drive frequency changes caused by the change in the output current is limited.

The virtual voltage generation circuit includes a driver circuit, a virtual resonance circuit, and a virtual rectification smoothing circuit. Similar to the resonant circuit, the virtual resonant circuit receives a frequency-modulated carrier wave as input, and outputs the envelope instead of the amplitude-modulated carrier wave. The virtual rectifying / smoothing circuit receives this envelope as an input, acts as a first-order lag filter with respect to the envelope, and outputs a result equivalent to the output of the rectifying / smoothing circuit.

Stable by feeding back the error between the reference voltage and the output voltage generated by rectifying and smoothing from the amplitude-modulated carrier wave output from the resonant circuit to which the frequency-modulated carrier wave is input. In the stabilized DC power supply, the feedback with a large delay for returning the output voltage error to the frequency of the carrier wave input to the resonance circuit and the feedback with a small delay for feeding back the output voltage to the amplitude of the carrier wave are simultaneously implemented. , To suppress the rapid change of the frequency of the carrier wave and improve the frequency response of the output voltage.

In order to analyze the power source in which the error between the output voltage and the reference voltage is fed back to the amplitude of the carrier wave along with the frequency of the carrier wave, in Patent Document 6, an equivalent power source in which the error of the output voltage is fed back to the amplitude is introduced.
When these predictions are correct, considering the equilibrium state, the amplitude of the carrier wave increases for a heavy load with a large output current, and decreases for a light load. That is, it is possible to realize an appropriate relationship between the frequency and the amplitude, in which the amplitude of the carrier wave increases at a frequency close to the resonance frequency and decreases at a remote frequency.
It is shown below that these predictions are correct not only when the output current J varies independently of the output voltage z, but also when the dependence of the output current J on the output voltage z is considered to be approximately independent. As a result, it can be seen that the stability of the differential equation system in which the output current is fed back to the amplitude can be reduced to the stability of the differential equation system consisting of Equations 22-25. Furthermore, by converting the output current with an appropriate function f (・), the frequency of the carrier wave can be kept approximately constant, so a constant that stabilizes the differential equation system in which the output current is fed back to the amplitude can be selected. Consider a load connected to a voltage source. Although the load has two terminals, the current flowing through the load depends on the state of the load as well as the input impedance of the load. That is, the load includes a load current source that generates a load current. The current generated by the load current source depends only on the internal state of the load, and does not depend on the voltage applied to the load. That is, the current flowing through the load consists of a portion that depends on the applied voltage and a portion that does not depend on the applied voltage.

For example, in normal differential equation system equations 22 to 25 that describe voltage sources, a variable that appears as a time derivative on the left side of each equation is called an independent variable of the differential equation system, and a variable that is not an independent variable is called a free variable. The independent variables of this differential equation system are p, q, z, and φ. Further, when μ, ν, δ, r r , r i , E, A, B, and G are constants, this differential equation system does not include free variables.

The differential equation system A and the differential equation system B are selected by selecting the differential equation system B having I as an independent variable, which does not include the independent variable of the differential equation system A as a free variable, relative to the differential equation system A having the variable I as a free variable. Stable return
Since it can be assumed that the differential equation system 116-118 describing the load current I is stable without loss of generality, the eigenpolynomial derived from the variational differential equation system equation 135 is stable, and thus the combined differential equation. The stability of the system results in the stability of the eigen polynomial derived from the variational differential equation system equation 134. That is, if the variable I is a free variable of the differential equation system equations 112 to 115, the stability of the differential equation system equations 112 to 115 results in the stability of the variational differential equation system equation 134.
The stability of the differential equation system results in the eigenpolynomial of the variational differential equation system. In the differential equation system equations 79 to 82, the load current I is a free variable. The eigenpolynomial of the variational differential equation system obtained by expanding this differential equation system in the vicinity of the equilibrium point is the eigenpolynomial of the variational differential equation system 22-25 of the differential equation system equation when A L is a constant. Has already been shown to be obtained by replacing w with w eff e . It is shown below that the same situation exists when A L is not a constant. In this sense, the stability of the differential equation system equations 79 to 82 results in the stability of the differential equation system equations 22 to 25.
A L is not a constant
In the differential system equations 79-83, characteristic polynomial where A L is the input impedance Z is resistive in the standard model of the load shown in constant or FIG. 2 is shown in Equation 108. Here, as shown in FIG. 3, an eigen polynomial is obtained when the input impedance Z is a parallel combination of resistance and capacitance. This gives a perspective on the general polynomial of the general case where A L is not a constant.

When formula 163 is rewritten using formula 170 and formula 172, the proper polynomial m (h) is as follows.
A model that explains the sign of L
G≫|KAL|
For example, when A L is a positive real number, when the sign of G-KA L changes from positive to negative, this feedback changes from negative feedback to positive feedback. That is, when G-KA L is negative, when the output voltage becomes lower than the reference voltage, feedback works in the direction of further lowering. In order for feedback to stabilize the output voltage, G-KA L must be positive. In order to stabilize the output voltage, it is necessary to apply a large feedback to a slight change in the output voltage, and thus G-KA L increases. That is, G >> | KA L | for the purpose of stabilizing the output voltage. G >> | KA L |, and further from the viewpoint of stabilizing the output voltage, KA L decreases the stability. That makes it possible to handle the KA L as noise. Figure 5 shows the feedback with KA L regarded as noise.
G >> | KA L |
When the output current is fed back to the amplitude of the carrier wave, the minimum and maximum values of the carrier wave amplitude are chosen to correspond approximately to the minimum and maximum values of the load current. On the other hand, in order to stabilize the output voltage, G needs to give a large feedback to a slight change in the output voltage. Therefore, even when the output voltage and the output current are fed back to the amplitude of the carrier wave, G >> | KA L | Of the feedback to the amplitude of the output current, A L z can be treated as noise.
Change in output current is noise

For example, in the differential equation system equations 76 to 78, the stability of the differential equation system in which the equation 182 is replaced with the equation 183 results in the stability of the differential equation system in which the equation 183 is replaced with the following 186.

When the output voltage is fed back to the carrier frequency and the output current is not fed back with the carrier amplitude, the amplitude of the carrier driving the resonant circuit is approximately constant. Therefore, when the load is heavy, the frequency of the carrier wave approaches the resonance frequency, and when the load is light, the frequency of the carrier wave moves away from the resonance frequency. That is, the frequency of the carrier wave varies greatly depending on the load. By changing the amplitude of the carrier wave according to the load, that is, by feeding back the output current to the amplitude, driving with a large amplitude carrier wave when the load is heavy, and driving with a small amplitude carrier wave when the load is light The range in which the frequency of the carrier wave changes can be narrowed, and the frequency can be kept approximately constant.
Root of equation m (h) = 0
A necessary and sufficient condition for the feedback to be stable near the equilibrium point is that the real part of all roots of the eigenpolynomial is negative. Here, it is shown that a stable parameter can be selected when the circuit is easy to implement and the eigenpolynomial has at least two negative real roots.
グラフy=f1(h)について考える。グラフy=f1(h)の第1項と第2項のグラフを図6において点線で示す。y=f1(h)の第一項は、すくなくとも原点からh=-1/μまでの区間で負となる下に凸なhに関する4次式である。第二項は少なくとも原点からh=-H/Gまたは h=-(δ2+φ2)/δまでの区間で負となるhに関する3次式である。Gが小さく、H/G>δ+φ/δの場合には、原点からh=-(δ2+φ2)/δの区間で負となる。これから正の数hzが存在して、グラフy=f1(h) は、φによらず原点からh=-hzまでの区間で負となることが分かる。また第一項は4次式であり、第二項は3次式であることから、y=f1(h)は下に凸であることが分かる。 Consider the graph y = f 1 (h). A graph of the first term and the second term of the graph y = f 1 (h) is indicated by a dotted line in FIG. The first term of y = f 1 (h) is a quartic expression relating to h, which is negative and convex in the interval from the origin to h = −1 / μ. The second term is a cubic expression relating to h that is negative in at least an interval from the origin to h = −H / G or h = − (δ 2 + φ 2 ) / δ. When G is small and H / G> δ + φ / δ, it becomes negative in the section of h = − (δ 2 + φ 2 ) / δ from the origin. From this, it can be seen that there is a positive number h z and the graph y = f 1 (h) is negative in the interval from the origin to h = −h z regardless of φ. Since the first term is a quartic equation and the second term is a cubic equation, it can be seen that y = f 1 (h) is convex downward.

The output impedance of the ideal voltage source is 0, and the output impedance of the ideal current source is infinite. Generally, the output impedance of the voltage source is low and the output impedance of the current source is high. The power supply is often expressed as a power supply in which output impedance is coupled in series with an ideal voltage source, which can be mutually converted with a power supply in which output impedance is coupled in parallel with an ideal current source. The output from the diode bridge that rectifies the output of the piezoelectric transformer can be considered as a DC voltage source or a DC current source.
When the error amplifier output, that is, the error between the output voltage and the reference voltage is fed back to the carrier frequency, Patent Documents 1 and 3 indicate that the frequency modulation circuit has a transfer function in which poles are arranged in the vicinity of the origin. Contributes to stabilization. In order to return the error to the frequency of the carrier wave, it is necessary to compensate for the delay caused by the voltage generation circuit and the delay caused by the piezoelectric transformer. Thus, the frequency modulation circuit converts the error through a transfer function having a zero point that compensates for this delay and a pole located at the origin.

The amplitude modulation circuit stabilizes the output voltage by feeding back the error amplifier output, that is, the error between the output voltage and the reference voltage, to the amplitude of the carrier wave. In order to return the error to the amplitude, it is necessary to compensate for the delay by the piezoelectric transformer and the rectifying / smoothing circuit. The error is transformed through a transfer function with a zero that compensates for the pole produced by the delay and fed back to the carrier amplitude.

Since the amplitude modulation circuit does not include the result with a large delay included in the transfer function of the frequency modulation circuit, the feedback to the amplitude is a feedback with a small delay compared to the feedback to the frequency. The error can be fed back to the output voltage with a short delay. For this reason, the differential of the error can be effectively used for feedback to the amplitude of the carrier wave.

The driver circuit includes a full bridge that operates in a phase shift mode and a gate pulse generation circuit that generates gate pulses for turning on and off the four switches that form the full bridge. A full bridge is configured by connecting two sets of half bridges in which two switches that are turned on and off in series by mutually complementary gate pulses are connected in series. In the phase shift mode operation, the phase difference between the gate pulses of the two half bridges constituting the full bridge is controlled by an external signal.
The gate pulses that turn on and off the two half bridges have the same frequency, which is twice the frequency of the carrier. The frequency input of the gate pulse generation circuit controls the frequency of this gate pulse. In the phase shift mode, the phase difference between the complementary gate pulse for turning on / off one half bridge and the complementary gate pulse for turning on / off the other half bridge controls the amplitude of the carrier wave. The amplitude input of the gate pulse generation circuit controls the phase difference between the gate pulses.

The gate pulse generation circuit generates four gate pulses each having a frequency output from the frequency modulation circuit and a phase difference between the gate pulses output from the amplitude modulation circuit and the current detector.
Piezoelectric transformer
Piezoelectric transformers utilize the piezoelectric effect of previously polarized piezoelectric elements. When an external force is applied to the piezoelectric element and deformed, a voltage is generated. Conversely, when a voltage is applied, a stress is generated and deformed. Piezoelectric transformers use this effect to convert electrical vibrations to mechanical vibrations on the primary side and transmit them to the secondary side, and return them to electrical vibrations on the secondary side, so that the primary side to the secondary side Transmit electrical energy to The piezoelectric transformer includes a resonance circuit inside. For this reason, unlike a normal electromagnetic transformer, the piezoelectric transformer exhibits sharp frequency characteristics and large load dependence. If the ratio of the input voltage and the output voltage of the piezoelectric transformer is defined as a boost ratio, the piezoelectric transformer exhibits a large boost ratio near the resonance frequency.
The piezoelectric transformer used for the voltage source is a step-down piezoelectric transformer having a small output impedance. That is, a carrier wave whose amplitude is reduced is outputted from the secondary side from the carrier wave inputted to the primary side. The frequency of the high-frequency alternating current that drives the piezoelectric transformer is selected to be higher than the resonance frequency of the piezoelectric transformer. Therefore, when the output voltage is higher than the reference voltage, the frequency is increased to move away from the resonance frequency, and in the opposite case, the frequency is decreased to approach the resonance frequency.
Rectifier smoothing circuit

The use of the simulation circuit of FIG. 14 shows that the feedback thus configured is stable. The simulation results for the output currents of 1 mA, 1.5 mA, and 2 mA are shown in FIGS. In each figure, the horizontal axis is the time axis, the vertical axis 1 is the input that controls the phase difference between the gate pulses that controls the amplitude of the carrier wave (ABM19: IN1), and the vertical axis 2 is the voltage control that controls the frequency of the carrier wave. The time course of each is shown with the input of the oscillator (ABM26: IN) and the vertical axis 3 as the output current, that is, the input of the error amplifier (ABM31: IN1).
Frequency change due to output current
As can be seen from Figures 16, 17, and 18, the carrier frequency varies approximately with the output of the voltage detector so that the carrier frequency is approximately constant for output currents ranging from 1 mA to 2 mA. You can see that it is kept.
The present invention relates to a change in load by feeding back an output generated by rectifying a high-frequency alternating current output from a resonant circuit driven by a carrier wave that is a high-frequency alternating current to the frequency and amplitude of the carrier wave driving the resonant circuit. The range in which the frequency of the carrier wave accompanying the change can be limited. When such feedback is not prepared, the resonance circuit is driven at a frequency close to the resonance frequency when the load is heavy, and is driven at a frequency away from the resonance frequency when the load is light. The characteristics of the resonance circuit, for example, the rate of change of the output with respect to the change of the frequency of the carrier wave varies greatly depending on the frequency. This makes it difficult to design a feedback circuit that stabilizes the output generated from the resonant circuit. By limiting the range in which the carrier frequency changes as the load changes, the characteristics of the resonant circuit can be considered to be approximately constant, which facilitates the design of the feedback circuit and the output characteristics. Make it easy to estimate.
