Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a printing apparatus that reprints a received and held print job, a printing apparatus control method, and a program.
There is a user request to print another part of the same document after printing one document. In response to this request, there is a reprint function for printing the document in accordance with a reprint (hereinafter referred to as “reprint”) instruction by panel operation of the image forming apparatus without retransmitting print data from the data processing apparatus (for example, patent Reference 1).
In a normal printing process, the printing apparatus saves the print data transmitted from the data processing apparatus in a storage device inside the printing apparatus, and deletes the saved print data after the printing process is completed. However, the printing apparatus having the reprint function does not delete the print data even after the printing process is completed, and continues to save until the storage device is full. As a result, the user can print the image once printed by the reprint instruction by the panel operation of the printing apparatus without retransmitting the print data from the data processing apparatus.
When this reprint function is used, the printing apparatus automatically saves the received print job in a reprint storage unit in the storage device. For this reason, when the storage unit for reprinting becomes full, one of the jobs in the storage unit must be deleted in order to free up an area for storing a print job to be received next.
Here, in the case of Patent Document 1, when a print job is received, the printing apparatus deletes the job having the oldest stored date and time information from the jobs stored in the reprint storage area and stores the next job. The area is secured.
However, according to Patent Document 1, even when a plurality of pieces of print data having the same contents are stored, the oldest print job is deleted. Therefore, for example, when print data having the same content is received and printed a plurality of times, the same print data is stored in the reprint storage area. Accordingly, there is a high possibility that print data that the user desires to reprint does not remain in the reprint storage unit.
The present invention has been made to solve the above problems. An object of the present invention is to provide a mechanism for preventing a plurality of print data having the same contents from remaining in a storage unit for reprinting.
The printing apparatus of the present invention that achieves the above object has the following configuration.
A printing apparatus that reprints a print job received from a data processing apparatus and held in a holding unit, the setting unit setting a reprint mode for executing reprinting of the print job, and the reprint mode being set A determination unit that determines whether a print job that overlaps the received print job is held in the holding unit as a saved print job each time a print job is received from the data processing apparatus An erasing unit for erasing the duplicate print job held in the holding unit when the judging unit determines that the duplicate print job is held in the holding unit as the stored print job; It is characterized by providing.
According to the present invention, it is possible to prevent a plurality of print data having the same contents from remaining in the storage unit for reprinting.

(Description of printer system configuration)

Thus, according to the setting state of the erasure reservation information for the stored print job held in the
According to the present embodiment, the same print job in the reprint saved print job can be erased at an early timing capable of being erased. In addition, since it is possible to delete duplicate print jobs and leave many non-overlapping jobs in the
In addition, since the print job stored redundantly is not displayed in the job list for reprinting, it is possible to provide a job list intuitively understandable to the user.
[Second Embodiment]
In the first embodiment, the example in which the owner name and the job name are used as the conditions for determining that the jobs overlap in S202 of FIG. 7 has been described. That is, if the print job owner name is the same as the job name, the print job held in the

[Third Embodiment]
In the first embodiment, a description will be given of a case where the
Further, in S201 of FIG. 7, a criterion for erasing the print job with the oldest final print time is used. However, the stored print job with the erasure reservation has priority over the print job with the oldest final print time. You may control to erase.
