図1に示すように、本実施形態のころ外周面測定治具1は、ころ2を押し込む為の空洞1Aが設けられており、前記ころを押し込む部分であるころ接触部1Bが円筒状の弾性体からなる。弾性体の材料としては、弾性変形のし易さや、強度や、ころが傷付かない適度な硬さや、耐久性や、入手性等から、ポリエチレン、ポリウレタン、ポリプロピレン等が好ましい。また、ころ接触部1Bの入口部1B1の内径寸法dは、前記ころの端面2Bの外径D1と同じ寸法か、D1より大きくすることが好ましい。そうすると、ころ2を、ころ外周面測定治具1に押し込み易く出来る。また、前記内径寸法dは、前記ころ2の最大外径部2Cの外径D2と同じ寸法か、D2より小さくすることが好ましい。そうすると、測定時に、前記入口部3Aの内周面の少なくとも一部が、弾性変形しつつ、ころの外周面に接触するので、ころ軸受用のころの外周面を円周方向に測定する際、簡単にころの着脱及びセンタリングが出来る。また、ころ外周面測定治具1は、アーバー3に固定され、アーバー3は、図示しない回転装置に取り付けられる。ころ外周面測定治具1は、空洞の奥の面1Cに、ねじ4の頭が位置する様に、アーバー3に対して、ねじ止め固定されることが好ましい。ねじ止め固定は、ころ外周面測定治具1を、アーバー3に強固にかつ交換容易に固定出来る。また、空洞の奥の面1Cに、ねじ4の頭が位置する様にすれば、ころ2が、空洞の奥の面1Cに吸着して取り外し難くなることを防止出来る。また、ころ外周面測定治具1のアーバー3に対する固定方法は、接着剤を用いても良いし、アーバー3の端面3Aを凹状にし、ころ測定治具1のアーバー側の外周面1Dに対して、しまりばめにしても良い。アーバー3の端面3Aを凹状にして、ころ外周面測定治具1のアーバー側の外周面1Dをしまりばめにした場合は、ころ外周面測定治具1の交換をより容易かつ迅速に行うことが出来る。また、ころの端面2Bが、空洞の奥の面1Cに直接接触する場合は、空洞の奥の面の粗さを粗くすることにより、ころの端面2Bが、空洞の奥の面1Cに吸着して取り外し難くなることを抑制出来る。図2は、図1のころ2を、アーバー3に取付けた状態の図である。ころ外周面測定治具1のアーバー3に対する固定は、接着剤を用いている。ころ2の取り付け後、図示しない回転装置を回転させて、アーバー3や、ころ外周面測定治具1や、ころ2を回転させつつ、測定子5を、ころの外周面2Aに接触させることにより、図示しない測定装置により外周面の真円度やウェービネスを測定することが出来る。
