周囲壁6には、その各四面にフォークリフトのフォークを挿入するためのフォーク挿入孔9が形成されている。周囲壁6のパーティングライン7は、ブロー成形時に型締めされた部分に形成されてバリ(図示せず)を生じるので、パーティングライン7に沿って互いの溶着面積を拡大するように外方に向けた凸条8はバリを所要の突出長さ分を残して切除することにより形成される。
パレットを構成する中空二重壁構造体2には、フォーク挿入孔9に隣接して上面壁4および下面壁5を一体につなぐリブ10を複数形成してある。このリブ10は上面壁4側および下面壁5側からそれぞれ中空部3の方向に突出させて互いに溶着一体化しているが、上面壁4側または下面壁5側からそれぞれ突出させて対向する壁と溶着一体化した態様とすることもできる。リブ10はフォーク挿入孔9に隣接して形成するほか、中空二重壁構造体2の中央部にも複数形成して全体の補強と剛性を向上させている。
また、前記フォーク挿入孔9の開口端はその周囲を外方に向けた凸条により囲まれた縁取り部11を形成して補強されている。この縁取り部11を形成する凸条はパーティングライン7に沿って形成された凸条8と同高であるが、必ずしもそうでなくても構わない。
