Description

The present invention relates to a discharge lamp lighting device for lighting a discharge lamp used for, for example, a vehicle headlamp.

The electronic parts constituting the discharge lamp lighting device are assembled in a housing in order to protect from the external environment. This casing is made of a metal material such as aluminum because it is necessary to perform noise shielding as an EMC countermeasure. However, at least one surface of the housing is opened for convenience of the process of assembling the electronic component. Therefore, after assembling the electronic component, the opening of the housing is covered with a metal cover, the cover and the housing are electrically connected, and noise shielding is performed (see Patent Document 1).

Japanese Patent No. 3598857

A specific structure of the conventional discharge lamp lighting device P1 is shown in FIGS. FIG. 5 is a plan view of a conventional discharge lamp lighting device P1. 6 is a side cross-sectional view taken along the line AA in FIG.

The discharge lamp lighting device P1 is an electronic component P5, P7, P9, P11, P13 that controls the lighting of the discharge lamp P3 mounted on the upper side, and a resin case that holds the electronic components P7, P9, P11, P13. A member P15, a metal casing P17 having an upper surface opened and housing the case member P15 therein, and a metallic cover member P19 covering the opening of the casing P17 from above are provided. A terminal P21 is arranged inside the case member P15, and the electronic components P5, P7, P9, P11, and P13 are connected to each other by the terminal P21.

The cover member P19 is fixed to the housing P17 at one end by a screw P23. Further, the cover member P19 has a substantially GND-shaped cross-sectional shape at the opposite end, and is provided with a cover GND contact P25 that can be elastically deformed. The cover GND contact P25 is connected to the case member P15 and the housing. It is inserted into the gap P27 with the body P17. Since the width of the gap P27 is narrower than the original width (in a state where it is not elastically deformed) of the cover GND contact P25, the cover GND contact P25 is compressed and deformed in the lateral direction in the gap P27, and the repulsive force Pressed against the inner surface of P17. As a result, the cover member P19 is electrically connected to the housing P17 at both ends thereof (the side fixed by the screw P23 and the cover GND contact P25 side), and has a function of noise shielding.

However, in the conventional discharge lamp lighting device P1, the cover GND contact P25 may change over time or corrode in a high-temperature environment, and the conductivity with the housing P17 may decrease. Further, since the cover member P19 and the case member P15 are separate and the screw P23 is necessary for fixing the cover member P19, the number of parts and the number of assembling steps are increased.

The present invention has been made in view of the above points, and an object of the present invention is to provide a discharge lamp lighting device that is highly reliable with respect to the electrical conductivity between the cover member and the housing, and that requires fewer parts and less assembly steps. .

The discharge lamp lighting device according to the present invention includes an electronic component that performs lighting control of the discharge lamp, a case member that holds at least a part of the electronic component, and at least one surface that is open, and the conductive member that houses the case member therein. And a conductive cover member that covers the one surface of the casing. The cover member is formed integrally with the case member, and a protruding portion protruding outward is formed on the outer periphery of the cover member, and a tip of the protruding portion is in pressure contact with the inner surface of the casing.

In the discharge lamp lighting device of the present invention, the cover member covers the opening of the housing and is electrically connected (grounded) to the housing via the protruding portion. Therefore, noise shielding at the opening of the housing can be performed by the cover member.

In addition, the cover member ensures electrical conductivity between the cover member and the housing by pressing the projecting portion against the housing, or by joining the projecting portion and the housing that are press-contacted by, for example, welding. To do. For this reason, the electrical conductivity does not deteriorate due to aging or corrosion in a high temperature environment. As a result, reliability related to conductivity is increased.

In the discharge lamp lighting device of the present invention, the cover member is formed integrally with the case member. Moreover, the protrusion part which ensures the electroconductivity between a cover member and a housing | casing is a part of cover member. Therefore, for example, the process of assembling the cover member to the case member and the process of separately assembling a member for ensuring conductivity (for example, the screw P23 in FIGS. 5 and 6) are not required, and the number of parts can be reduced.

Further, in the discharge lamp lighting device of the present invention, since the projecting portion ensures electrical conductivity by being pressed against the housing, the dimensional accuracy of the projecting portion is not necessarily high.
In the discharge lamp lighting device of the present invention, the cover member can be formed integrally with the case member by, for example, insert molding. Examples of the protrusion include a rod-shaped member having a tapered tip. Since the tip of the projecting portion is tapered, the projecting portion can be press-fitted into the housing and the connection between them can be ensured. Examples of the shape of the cover member include a rectangular shape (rectangular plate shape). In this case, for example, protrusions can be formed on each of the four sides of the rectangle.

Embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
1. Configuration of Discharge Lamp Lighting Device 1 The configuration of the discharge lamp lighting device 1 will be described with reference to FIGS. FIG. 1 is a plan view of the discharge lamp lighting device 1. FIG. 2 is a side sectional view taken along the line AA in FIG. FIG. 3 is a plan view showing the vicinity of a later-described protrusion 19b (region B in FIG. 1) in the discharge lamp lighting device 1. FIG.

The discharge lamp lighting device 1 includes electronic parts 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 that perform lighting control of the discharge lamp 3, a case member 15 that holds the electronic parts 7, 9, 11, 13, and an upper surface that is open. A metal (aluminum) casing 17 that houses the case member 15 therein and a metallic cover member 19 that covers an opening in the casing 17 are provided.

The discharge lamp 3 is attached to the upper side of the discharge lamp lighting device 1 integrally therewith.
The electronic component 5 is a module IC and is disposed between the bottom plate of the housing 17 and the case member 15.

The case member 15 is a box-shaped member made of resin, and is cut out only in the part that houses the electronic components 7, 9, 11, and 13, and the other part is filled with resin. A brass terminal 21 is embedded in the case member 15. The electronic components 5, 7, 9, 11, and 13 are connected to each other by the terminal 21.

The cover member 19 is made of metal (aluminum). The shape of the cover member 19 includes a main body portion 19a that is a rectangular plate, and a rod-shaped protruding portion 19b provided on the outer peripheral end surface of the main body portion 19a. Two protrusions 19b are provided on each of the four sides of the main body 19a and protrude outward. As shown in FIG. 3, the tip of the protrusion 19b has a tapered shape. More specifically, the change rate of the diameter at the tip of the protruding portion 19b becomes smaller as it approaches the tip. Therefore, as shown in FIG. 3, when the vicinity of the tip of the protruding portion 19b is viewed from the side surface, the curved surface is convex outward.

The cover member 19 is formed integrally with the case member 15 by insert molding. That is, of the cover member 19, the entire main body 19 a and the base of the protrusion 19 b are embedded in the case member 15, and the tip of the protrusion 19 b extends outward from the side surface of the case member 15. It protrudes. As shown in FIG. 2, the position of the cover member 19 in the vertical direction is above the electronic components 7, 9, 11, and 13. The terminal 21 is also formed integrally with the case member 15 by insert molding.

When the case member 15 is accommodated in the housing 17, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the main body 19 a of the cover member 19 is located above the electronic components 5, 7, 9, 11, 13. 17 openings are covered. Further, the protruding portion 19 b of the cover member 19 is in pressure contact with the inner surface of the side surface 17 a of the housing 17. The terminal 21 also protrudes outward from the side surface of the case member 15, and the tip of the terminal 21 is in pressure contact with the inner surface of the side surface 17 a of the housing 17.

2. Schematic electrical configuration of the discharge lamp lighting device 1 The electrical schematic configuration of the discharge lamp lighting device 1 is shown in FIG. In the discharge lamp lighting device 1, the electronic components 5, 7, 9, 11, and 13 include the DC / DC converter 101, the H bridge 103, the starter circuit 105, the control circuit 107, the filter circuit 109, and the protection circuit shown in FIG. 111 is configured.

The DC / DC converter 101 boosts the power supply voltage. The H bridge 103 converts the boosted voltage into an AC rectangular wave, and turns on the discharge lamp 3. The starter circuit 105 generates a high voltage required at the start of lighting, forms an arc of the discharge lamp 3, and then shifts to stable lighting. The control circuit 107 performs optimum power control for stable lighting of the discharge lamp 3. The filter circuit 109 and the protection circuit 111 perform noise # removal from the power supply voltage and protection against reverse power connection and surge.

3. Effects of the discharge lamp lighting device 1 (1) The cover member 19 covers the opening of the housing 17 and is electrically connected (grounded) to the housing 17 via the protruding portion 19b. The housing 17 is grounded to the GND of the electronic components 5, 7, 9, 11, and 13 through the terminal 21. Therefore, noise shielding at the opening of the housing 17 can be performed by the cover member 19.
(2) The cover member 19 ensures electrical conductivity between the cover member 19 and the housing 17 by pressing the protruding portion 19 b against the housing 17. For this reason, the electrical conductivity does not deteriorate due to aging or corrosion in a high temperature environment. As a result, reliability related to conductivity is increased.
(3) The cover member 19 is formed integrally with the case member 15. Further, the protruding portion 19 b that secures conductivity between the cover member 19 and the housing 17 is a part of the cover member 19. Therefore, the process of assembling the cover member 19 to the case member 15 and the process of assembling a member for ensuring conductivity are not required, and the number of parts can be reduced.
(4) Since the projecting portion 19b ensures electrical conductivity by being pressed against the housing 17, the dimensional accuracy of the projecting portion 19b may not necessarily be high.

In addition, this invention is not limited to the said embodiment at all, and it cannot be overemphasized that it can implement with a various aspect in the range which does not deviate from this invention.
For example, the protrusion 19b and the housing 17 may be welded in a state in which the tip of the protrusion 19b is in pressure contact with the inside of the housing 17. In this case, the force which presses the protrusion part 19b against the housing | casing 17 may be small.

Moreover, the method of integrating the cover member 19 and the case member 15 is not limited to insert molding. For example, the cover member 19 may be bonded to the upper surface of the case member 15.
Moreover, the protrusion part 19b is not limited to a rod-shaped member. For example, it can be a plate-like member protruding outward from the outer peripheral end face of the main body 19a.

Moreover, in the said embodiment, although the number of the protrusion parts 19b in each edge | side of the cover member 19 is two, it is not limited to this. The number of protrusions 19b on each side can be any one of 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7,. Moreover, the number of the protrusion parts 19b in each side is not necessarily equal. For example, the number of protrusions 19b on the long side can be increased, and the number of protrusions 19b on the short side can be reduced.
