Abstract

Claims (12)
- 放射電磁エネルギーの点光源と、
前記放射電磁エネルギーの経路に沿って配置されている垂直中心軸を有し、前記放射電磁エネルギーを受け出力面に均等に分配する全反射(TIR)レンズを備え、前記TIRレンズを出る前記放射電磁エネルギーは実質的にコリメートされ、前記垂直中心軸に平行な垂直光路を規定し、さらに、
前記TIRレンズの前記出力面から前記放射電磁エネルギーを受け、前記垂直光路に対して所定の第一角度に前記放射電磁エネルギーを拡散する第一拡散体を備えているバックライト装置。 - 前記放射電磁エネルギーの経路に沿って前記TIRレンズと前記第一拡散体の間に配置されている第二拡散体を備え、前記第二拡散体を出る前記放射電磁エネルギーは前記垂直光路に対する第二角度を規定し、前記第二角度は前記第一角度よりも小さい請求項1のバックライト装置。
- 前記TIRレンズと前記第一拡散体の間に配置されている液晶ディスプレイ(LCD)素子を備えている請求項1のバックライト装置。
- 前記点光源は発光ダイオード(LED)を備えている請求項1のバックライト装置。
- 前記点光源は、前記放射電磁エネルギーを前記TIRレンズ中に拡散する拡散体光学部品を備えている請求項1のバックライト装置。
- 前記点光源は、
前記放射電磁エネルギーを反射する前記TIRレンズ下に配置されている反射体と、
反射された前記放射電磁エネルギーを受け前記放射電磁エネルギーを前記TIRレンズ中に拡散する前記反射体の上方に配置されている拡散体光学部品を備えている請求項1のバックライト装置。 - 前記TIRレンズの下方に配置されている複数の開口が形成されている第一白色拡散体と、
垂直方向に前記第一白色拡散体の下方に配置されている第二白色拡散体を備え、
前記第一および第二白色拡散体はそれらの間に、前記点光源から放射された前記放射電磁エネルギーを混合する光学キャビティを規定し、
前記第二白色拡散体によって反射された前記放射電磁エネルギーは、前記複数の開口を介して受けられ、前記TIRレンズ中に拡散される請求項1のバックライト装置。 - 前記点光源と前記TIRレンズの間の光路に沿って前記点光源からの前記放射電磁エネルギーを前記TIRレンズへ透過する逸脱体レンズを備えている請求項1のバックライト装置。
- 前記第一拡散体はホログラフィー拡散体である請求項1のバックライト装置。
- 前記TIRレンズは多角形形状をしている請求項1のバックライト装置。
- 前記TIRレンズは四角形状をしている請求項10のバックライト。
- 前記TIRレンズ拡散体は六角形形状をしている請求項10のバックライト。
