Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a see-through printed material that is transparent when viewed from one main surface side and from which a target image is viewed when viewed from the other main surface side, and a technique for creating a see-through printed material.
In recent years, see-through printed materials that have transparency when viewed from one main surface side and images are viewed when viewed from the other main surface side have been used for advertising and decoration purposes, for example. When creating a see-through printed matter, a so-called see-through film is prepared in which a plurality of small holes are regularly arranged on a base material in which a white sheet and a black sheet are laminated, and the white sheet of the see-through film is prepared. Images for advertisement and decoration are printed on top. The see-through printed matter is attached to a window glass of a building or a passenger car with the white sheet facing outward. When the see-through printed matter is viewed from the bright outside, the image on the white sheet is visually recognized, and when viewed from the dark interior (black sheet side), the external scenery is visually recognized through a plurality of small holes.
In
By the way, in manufacture of a see-through film, since it is necessary to form a some small hole in the base material which laminated | stacked the white sheet and the black sheet, it is difficult to manufacture a see-through film at low cost. Therefore, the cost for producing a see-through printed material using the see-through film also increases. Moreover, in the method of

Next, an operation in which the
FIG. 5 is a diagram illustrating a part of the
In FIG. 5, the same threshold value “255” as the maximum gradation level of the original image data is assigned to a plurality of elements surrounded by a
When a plurality of
Here, halftoning of the
In actual operation, the pixel value of one pixel of the
In the present embodiment, in the
In the
During the first main scan of the
As described above, in the
In the second main scan of the
In the third main scan of the
In the present embodiment, ink ejection control is performed on one of the
When the black ink image, the white ink image, and the color ink image are sequentially formed on one swath by three consecutive main scans of the
When the formation of the black ink layer, the white ink layer, and the color ink layer is completed, the main scanning and the sub scanning of the
Next, a method for generating the
In practice, a basic matrix for the black ink layer, a basic matrix for the white ink layer, and a basic matrix for the color ink layer (basic matrix for C, M, K, and Y) are prepared. Then, by applying the
FIG. 10 is a cross-sectional view of a see-through printed
When the see-through printed
As described above, in the see-through printed
As described above, in the
By the way, in the production of a see-through film, since the film is perforated when forming a hole for fluoroscopy, unnecessary materials are generated, and if a defect occurs in the perforation process, it is difficult to reuse the film. It becomes. Further, in general printing on a see-through film, ink is applied to the hole portion, so that the ink is wasted.
On the other hand, in the above-described method for creating a see-through printed matter, since a hole for fluoroscopy is formed without perforating the
In the
In the above operation example, all the pixel values in the original image data of the black ink layer and the white ink layer are “255” (although the density is 100%), the pixel value of the original image data is, for example, It may be a value corresponding to a concentration of 60 to 80%. Even in this case, since the ink ejected on the
In the
In the see-through printed
Next, another example of the ink jet printer will be described. FIG. 12 is a block diagram showing a functional configuration of another example of the
In the
Subsequently, halftone image data is generated by comparing the original image data of each ink layer stored in the
In the
As described above, in the
By the way, in the above operation example, the sizes (diameters) of the holes are made equal in the black ink layer, the white ink layer, and the color ink layer. However, depending on the ink ejection position accuracy in the
Next, a description will be given of a preferable method for creating a see-through printed matter in which an unintended white region is not visually recognized even when the hole formation position is slightly shifted for each ink layer. Here, a mask matrix different from that of the black ink layer and the color ink layer is prepared for the white ink layer. In the mask matrix for the white ink layer, an area corresponding to a pause pixel group (that is, a value of “1”) is prepared. The set of elements) is larger than the mask matrix for the black ink layer and the color ink layer. The center position of the area corresponding to the pause pixel group is the same in all mask matrices.
When the threshold matrix is generated from the basic matrix using the mask matrix and the halftone image data is generated using the threshold matrix, the center position of the rest pixel group is the other ink in the halftone image data for the white ink layer. Although it is the same as the halftone image data for the layer, the size (number of pixels) of the pause pixel group is slightly larger than the halftone image data for the other ink layers. Therefore, in the white ink layer formed according to the halftone image data, the edge of each hole is formed at a position slightly away from the edge of the corresponding hole of the other ink layer. Thereby, even when the formation position of the hole is slightly shifted for each ink layer, when the see-through printed material is viewed from the black ink layer side, a part of the white ink layer is visually recognized in the vicinity of the hole. In addition, when viewed from the color ink layer side, an unintended white region in the vicinity of the hole is prevented from being visually recognized, and deterioration of the quality of the see-through printed matter is prevented. Of course, halftone image data (halftone image data not including a pause pixel group) generated from the basic matrix may be corrected using the mask matrix, and an ink layer may be formed according to the corrected halftone image data. .
Since the difference in size of the hole between the white ink layer and the color ink layer is slight, in this case, the color ink is substantially only in the region where the white ink exists in the white ink layer. It can be considered that the color ink layer is formed by being applied. When there is no problem even if an unintended white region exists near the hole when observed from the color ink layer side, the same mask matrix is used for the color ink layer and the white ink layer. May be.
In the above operation example, the black, white, and color ink images are stacked by switching the
The discharge port included in the range A3 by the
Further, as shown in FIG. 14, heads 31a, 32a, and 33a in which only the discharge ports that are the operation discharge ports are formed may be provided in the head unit 3a. Also in the head unit 3a in FIG. 14, as in the
Furthermore, when there is no problem in the quality of the see-through printed matter even if the black ink and the white ink are applied in a single main scan, the quality is shown in FIG. As described above, the
In the head unit, heads that discharge white ink are provided on both sides in the main scanning direction of the head that discharges black ink, these heads are arranged on the subsequent side of sub-scanning, and the heads that discharge color ink are arranged on the preceding side By doing so, the see-through printed
Further, in the
Furthermore, in multiple main scans of the head unit, the head unit is not relatively moved in the sub-scanning direction, and a plurality of discharge ports of each head pass through the same position multiple times, so-called overprinting is performed, The density of each ink layer may be increased. In this case, the number of times of overcoating may be different for each ink layer.
Actually, even if overcoating is performed in the formation of the color ink layer, there is a certain limit to the increase in density due to the presence of a plurality of holes, so that an image (especially ruled lines, characters, etc.) displayed in the color ink layer ) (Which can also be regarded as expressive power) may be weaker than normal printing. For example, in the display of a trademark or the like, a decrease in visibility may not be allowed. In such a case, the transparency is ensured only in a part of the target area on the recording surface of the
Specifically, the
As described above, in the see-through printed matter, it is only necessary to set the see-through transparent region to be uniformly distributed in the target region where the see-through property on the
FIG. 16 is a diagram showing a configuration of a
The printing plates used in the
As described above, in the
In the
As described above, in the see-through printed matter produced by the above method, if the white ink layer is located between the black ink layer and the color ink layer, the
Although the embodiments of the present invention have been described above, the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments, and various modifications can be made.
In the second embodiment, since the color ink layer is formed by the ink jet third printing
In the
In the original image data, by changing the value of the pixel corresponding to the transmissive area on the
In the generation of halftone image data, AM (Amplitude Modulated) screening that changes the size of the halftone dots according to the change in gradation level around the regularly arranged dot centers, or a constant arrangement of irregularly arranged FM (Frequency Modulated) screening, which changes the number of halftone dots in size according to the change in gradation level, or the size of halftone dots in accordance with the change in gradation level around irregularly arranged dot centers Various methods such as a screening method to be changed can be used. In addition, as in the first embodiment, when using ultraviolet curable ink and curing the ink immediately after being discharged by irradiation of ultraviolet light from the
The
The size of the element of the transmission area (that is, the area corresponding to one hole) and the density of the element are appropriately determined according to various conditions such as the assumed observation distance and the brightness of the place where the see-through printed material is installed. However, under general conditions, the area ratio of the transmissive region (the area ratio of the pores in the ink layer) is preferably 30% to 90% (more preferably 45% to 75%). In the see-through printed matter produced without punching the
The shape of each element in the transmission region (the shape of the hole in the ink layer when viewed along the normal line of the
From the viewpoint of ensuring the minimum function of a see-through printed material that is transparent when viewed from one main surface side and the image is viewed when viewed from the other main surface side, instead of white ink, Other light colors (that is, light colors such as cream and light blue) may be used, and other dark colors (that is, dark colors such as gray and brown) are used instead of black ink. May be. Further, the
In addition, when the see-through printed material is provided on a window glass of a building or a passenger car, if the internal visibility from the outside is reduced (or the light shielding property inside is increased), the transparency from the inside to the outside is secured. The black ink may be applied to the transmission regions on the
As described above, in the creation of see-through printed matter, the dark ink layer, the light ink layer, and the color ink layer are light-transmitting so that the light ink layer is located between the dark ink layer and the color ink layer. Further, a plurality of fluoroscopic hole portions (the ink may be present at a low concentration as described above) are uniformly distributed at the same position of these ink layers. It is important to be provided.
In the see-through printed
In addition, an ink layer made of, for example, silver ink may be formed between the black ink layer and the white ink layer. In this case, the ink layer assists the impermeability in the white ink layer, and the color ink layer When viewed from the side, the black ink layer can be prevented from being recognized through the white ink layer.
In the
In each head of the
The configurations in the above-described embodiments and modifications may be combined as appropriate as long as they do not contradict each other.
