Abstract
【解決手段】CAVLC符号化部22は、動画像データがブロック単位毎に直交変換及び量子化された変換・量子化係数を取得し、level部符号化モード制御部39でテーブルA41、テーブルB42、又はテーブルA41とテーブルB42の混在のどの符号化モードで可変長符号化を行うか判定し、判定結果をlevel_prefix部40に出力する。テーブルB42は、所定の値以上のlevel_prefixに固定長のBit Stringが割り当てられている。level_prefix部40は、判定結果に基づく符号化モードでlevel_prefixの符号化動作を行い、出力制御部26に出力する。

また、前記可変長符号化手段は、可変長符号化を行った前記符号化モードを格納したビットストリームを出力してもよい。
また、前記可変長符号化手段は、複数のピクチャ単位に作用する情報を格納する部分に前記符号化モードを格納してもよい。
ISO/MPEGは、International Organization for Standardization/Moving Picture Experts Groupの略式表記である。また、ITU−T/VCEGは、International Telecommunication Union-Telecommunication standardization sector/Video Coding Experts Groupの略式表記である。
図12に示すように、CAVLC復号化部73は、Sliceデータ復号化部81と、MBヘッダ復号化部82と、MB予測復号化部83と、residual制御部84と、coef_token部85と、trailing_one_sign_flag部86と、total_zeros部87と、run_before部88と、level復号化モード制御部89と、level_prefix部90と、テーブルA41と、テーブルB42と、level_suffix部93とを備える。
また、前記可変長符号化手段は、可変長符号化を行った前記符号化モードを格納したビットストリームを出力してもよい。
また、前記可変長符号化手段は、複数のピクチャ単位に作用する情報を格納する部分に前記符号化モードを格納してもよい。
また、前記可変長符号化手段は、前記所定閾値以上と該所定閾値未満のレベルを符号化したときの先頭ビットを異ならせてもよい。
また、前記可変長符号化手段は、前記レベルに一定値を加算して固定長のビット量としてもよい。
また、前記可変長符号化手段は、前記所定閾値を前記小領域毎に変更してもよい。

Claims (3)
- 動画像データの小領域毎に直交変換及び量子化された変換量子化係数を可変長符号化する可変長符号化手段を備える動画像符号化装置において、
前記可変長符号化手段は、前記変換量子化係数を可変長符号化する複数の符号化モードを有し、前記複数の符号化モードのいずれかにより可変長符号化を行い、
前記複数の符号化モードのいずれか一つは、前記変換量子化係数の所定閾値以上のレベルを固定長で符号化することを特徴とする動画像符号化装置。 - 前記可変長符号化手段は、
可変長符号化を行った前記符号化モードを格納したビットストリームを出力することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の動画像符号化装置。 - 前記可変長符号化手段は、
複数のピクチャ単位に作用する情報を格納する部分に前記符号化モードを格納することを特徴とする請求項2に記載の動画像符号化装置。
