Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an electronic endoscope system, a processor device for an electronic endoscope, and a blood vessel information acquisition method for acquiring information related to blood vessels from an image captured by an electronic endoscope and imaging the acquired information.
In the medical field in recent years, many diagnoses and treatments using an electronic endoscope have been performed. The electronic endoscope includes an elongated insertion portion that is inserted into the body cavity of a subject, and an imaging device such as a CCD is built in the distal end of the insertion portion. Further, the electronic endoscope is connected to the light source device, and the light emitted from the light source device is irradiated to the inside of the body cavity from the distal end of the insertion portion. In this manner, the subject tissue in the body cavity is imaged by the imaging device at the distal end of the insertion portion in a state where light is irradiated inside the body cavity. An image obtained by imaging is displayed on a monitor after various processing is performed by a processor device connected to the electronic endoscope. Therefore, by using an electronic endoscope, an image in the body cavity of the subject can be confirmed in real time, so that diagnosis and the like can be performed reliably.
A white light source such as a xenon lamp capable of emitting white broadband light having a wavelength ranging from a blue region to a red region is used for the light source device. By using white broadband light for irradiation in the body cavity, the entire subject tissue can be grasped from the captured image. However, although it is possible to roughly grasp the entire subject tissue from the captured image obtained when the broadband light is irradiated, an uneven structure such as a fine blood vessel, a deep blood vessel, a pit pattern (gland opening structure), a depression or a bump It may be difficult to observe the subject tissue such as clearly. It is known that such a subject tissue can be clearly observed by irradiating narrow band light whose wavelength is limited to a specific region. In addition, it is known that various types of information related to a subject tissue such as oxygen saturation in blood vessels can be obtained from image data when narrow band light is irradiated.
For example, in
In recent years, there has been a demand for diagnosis and the like while simultaneously grasping both the blood vessel depth and the oxygen saturation. However, it is not easy to obtain both information on the blood vessel depth and information on the oxygen saturation at the same time due to various factors such as the absorbance of hemoglobin in the blood vessel changes significantly depending on the wavelength (see FIG. 3).
For example, as disclosed in
The present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and is an electronic endoscope system capable of simultaneously obtaining both information relating to blood vessel depth and information relating to oxygen saturation and imaging the two pieces of information. An object of the present invention is to provide a processor device for an electronic endoscope and a blood vessel information acquisition method.
In order to achieve the above object, an electronic endoscope system according to the present invention is configured to irradiate a subject tissue including a blood vessel in a body cavity with illumination light including a wavelength region of 450 nm or less, and to image the subject tissue. An electronic endoscope having an imaging element that outputs an imaging signal representing the brightness of reflected light reflected by the subject tissue, and first to third narrowband signals included in the imaging signal. , First narrowband signal acquisition means for acquiring first to third narrowband signals corresponding to first to third narrowband lights having different wavelength regions and at least one of the center wavelengths being 450 nm or less And blood vessel information acquisition means for obtaining blood vessel information including both blood vessel depth information relating to blood vessel depth and oxygen saturation information relating to oxygen saturation based on the first to third narrowband signals. It is characterized byAs examples of the center wavelengths of the first and second narrowband light, wavelengths 445 and 473 nm, wavelengths 405 and 445 nm, wavelengths 405 nm and 473 nm, and the like may be used, but other wavelengths may be used.
For example, the first and second narrow-band lights have different absorbances for reduced hemoglobin that is not bound to oxygenated hemoglobin that is bound to oxygen, and there is a difference in absorbance for each hemoglobin depending on oxygen saturation. It is preferable that the third narrow-band light includes a wavelength that does not cause a difference in absorbance with respect to each hemoglobin due to oxygen saturation.
The present invention further includes a first luminance ratio between the first and third narrowband signals and a second luminance ratio between the second and third narrowband signals between the first to third narrowband signals. It is preferable to include a first storage unit that stores in advance a correlation between the first and second luminance ratios, the blood vessel depth, and the oxygen saturation, for example, by the blood vessel information acquisition unit. Based on the correlation of the first storage means, both the blood vessel depth information relating to the blood vessel depth and the oxygen saturation information relating to the oxygen saturation corresponding to the first and second luminance ratios calculated by the luminance ratio calculating means Can be requested.
The first storage means stores the correlation by associating the coordinates of the luminance coordinate system indicating the first and second luminance ratios with the coordinates of the blood vessel information coordinate system indicating the blood vessel depth and oxygen saturation, The blood vessel information acquisition unit specifies first coordinates corresponding to the first and second luminance ratios calculated by the luminance ratio calculation unit in the luminance coordinate system, and sets the first coordinates in the blood vessel information coordinate system. It is preferable that a corresponding second coordinate is specified, and among the second coordinates, a coordinate value indicating the blood vessel depth is used as blood vessel depth information, and a coordinate value indicating the oxygen saturation is used as oxygen saturation information.
The wavelength region of the first narrowband light is, for example, 440 ± 10 nm, the wavelength region of the second narrowband light is, for example, 470 ± 10 nm, and the wavelength region of the third narrowband light is, for example, 400 ± 10 nm. . As other wavelength region patterns, the wavelength region of the first narrowband light is 400 ± 10 nm, the wavelength region of the second narrowband light is 440 ± 10 nm, and the wavelength region of the third narrowband light is 470 ± 10 nm. There are patterns for setting the wavelength range of the first narrowband light to 470 ± 10 nm, the wavelength range of the second narrowband light to 400 ± 10 nm, and the wavelength range of the third narrowband light to 440 ± 10 nm.
As shown in FIG. 1, an

As illustrated in FIG. 2, the
The
The first to third narrowband
The
The light
Specifically, first, the first narrowband
The
The
The R, G, and B color filters have
On the other hand, the first narrow-band light N1 out of the light incident on the
The
The
On the other hand, when the normal light image mode is switched to the special light image mode, first, as shown in FIG. 4B, the first narrowband light N1 is photoelectrically converted within the acquisition period of one frame. Thus, a total of two operations are performed: a step of accumulating signal charges, and a step of reading the accumulated signal charges as the first narrowband imaging signal. When the reading of the first narrowband imaging signal is completed, the step of photoelectrically converting the second narrowband light N2 to accumulate the signal charge within the acquisition period of one frame, and the accumulated signal charge to the second narrowband imaging signal Are read out. When the reading of the second narrowband imaging signal is completed, the step of photoelectrically converting the third narrowband light N3 and accumulating the signal charge within the acquisition period of one frame, and the accumulated signal charge as the third narrowband imaging signal Are read out.
As shown in FIG. 2, the
The blood vessel
The
Further, the reduced
Considering the light absorption characteristics of hemoglobin as described above, there are 445 nm and 473 nm wavelengths that differ in absorbance depending on oxygen saturation, and a short wavelength region with a short depth of penetration is necessary for blood vessel depth information extraction. Therefore, it is preferable that the first to third narrowband lights N1 to N3 include at least one narrowband light having a wavelength region with a center wavelength of 450 nm or less. Such narrow-band light corresponds to first and second narrow-band light in the first embodiment. Moreover, even if the oxygen saturation is the same, the absorption coefficient value is different for different wavelengths, and the depth of penetration in the mucosa is also different. Therefore, the correlation between the brightness ratio and the blood vessel depth can be obtained by using the characteristics of light having a different depth of penetration depending on the wavelength.
As shown in FIG. 6, the
In the blood vessel information coordinate system 67, the U axis and the V axis are orthogonal to each other at an intersection point P. This is because the magnitude relationship of light absorption is reversed between when the first narrowband light N1 is irradiated and when the second narrowband light N2 is irradiated. That is, as shown in FIG. 5, when the first narrowband light N1 having a wavelength of 440 ± 10 nm is irradiated, the extinction coefficient of reduced
The blood vessel depth-oxygen
As shown in FIG. 7A, the blood vessel depth-oxygen
The blood vessel depth
When the color information is specified for all the pixels in the blood vessel region, the blood vessel depth
The oxygen saturation

In contrast to FIG. 8, as shown in FIG. 9, both the blood
Next, a procedure for calculating blood vessel depth-oxygen saturation information and a procedure for generating a blood vessel depth image and an oxygen saturation image reflecting the information will be described with reference to the flowchart shown in FIG. First, the normal light image mode is switched to the special light image mode by operating the
When an irradiation stop signal is sent from the

When the second narrowband image data is stored in the
When the broadband image data and the first to third narrowband image data are stored in the
Next, the blood vessel depth-oxygen
When the blood vessel depth information U * and the oxygen saturation information V * are obtained, color information corresponding to the blood vessel depth information U * is specified from the
When the color information is stored in the RAM, the blood vessel depth information U * and the oxygen saturation information V * are obtained for all the pixels in the blood vessel region by the above-described procedure, and the blood vessel depth information U * is obtained. And color information corresponding to the oxygen saturation information V * is specified.
When blood vessel depth information and oxygen saturation information and color information corresponding to the information are obtained for all the pixels in the blood vessel region, the blood vessel depth
Then, the
Unlike the first embodiment, in which the second embodiment of the present invention obtains a total of three frames of imaging signals for each irradiation of the first to third narrowband lights N1 to N3, as shown in FIG. Imaging is performed by irradiating the body light with the band light N3, and then irradiating with the combined narrowband light obtained by synthesizing the first narrowband light N2 and the second narrowband light N2. First to third narrowband image data is generated from the imaging signal. In contrast to the first embodiment in which three frames of imaging signals are required to generate the first to third narrowband image data, the second embodiment reduces the number of frames of the imaging signals to two. Since the blood vessel depth information and the oxygen saturation information are obtained using the luminance ratio of the pixels at the same position between the first to third narrowband image data, the smaller the number of frames, It is possible to prevent pixel positional deviation due to movement of the insertion portion.
The electronic endoscope system according to the second embodiment is the same as the
The first to third narrow-
In the second embodiment, an imaging signal is output from the
Imaging signal B1 = luminance value L3
Imaging signal B2 = luminance value L1 + luminance value L2
Imaging signal G2 = luminance value L2
The
In the second embodiment, as shown in FIG. 13, the first irradiation light is the first narrowband light N1, and the subsequent irradiation light is the second narrowband light N2 and the third narrowband light N3. It is good also as synthetic | combination narrowband light which consists of. In this case, an imaging signal as shown below can be obtained.
Imaging signal B1 = luminance value L1 based on the first narrowband light N1
Imaging signal B2 = luminance value L2 + based on second narrowband light N2 + luminance value L3 based on third narrowband light N3
Imaging signal G2 = luminance value L2 based on second narrowband light N2
In this case, in the
Unlike the first and second embodiments in which the broadband light BB is not irradiated when the first to third narrowband lights N1 to N3 are irradiated, the third embodiment of the present invention is as shown in FIG. First, imaging is performed by simultaneously irradiating the first narrowband light N1 and the broadband light BB, and then the three lights of the second narrowband light N2, the third narrowband light N3, and the broadband light BB are simultaneously performed. Irradiate and image. Then, the first to third narrowband image data is generated from the imaging signals of two frames obtained by the total two times of imaging. In the third embodiment, wideband image data can also be generated when the first to third narrowband image data are generated. Therefore, as shown in FIGS. 8 to 10, when displaying both the broadband image and the blood vessel depth or the oxygen saturation on the
The electronic endoscope system of the third embodiment includes the
In the third embodiment, the
In the third embodiment, the
撮像信号G1=輝度値Broad_G1
Next, among the light incident on the
Imaging signal B1 = luminance value L1 + luminance value Load_B1
Imaging signal G1 = luminance value Load_G1
Imaging signal B2 = luminance value L2 + luminance value L3 + luminance value Load_B2
Imaging signal G2 = luminance value L2 + luminance value Broad_G2
In the third embodiment, the
Imaging signal B1 * = luminance value L1
Imaging signal B2 * = luminance value L2 + luminance value L3
Imaging signal G2 * = luminance value L2

In the third embodiment, since the luminance values Broad_B1, Broad_G1, Broad_B2, and Broad_G2 of the broadband light BB are also obtained, even in the special light image mode, only the first narrowband image data (image data about the special light image) is obtained. In addition, it is possible to obtain broadband light image data (image data for a normal light image) that is color image data. In the third embodiment, the first narrowband light N1 and the third narrowband light N3 may be interchanged as in the second embodiment (see FIGS. 12 and 13).
The fourth embodiment of the present invention differs from the first to third embodiments in which imaging is performed while switching the first to third narrowband lights N1 to N3, without installing the first to third narrowband light sources. The reflected light of the broadband light BB is split into first to third narrow-band lights N1 to N3 by the acousto-optic variable filter unit, and imaging is performed for each spectrum. As shown in FIG. 15, the electronic endoscope system 110 according to the fourth embodiment is provided with an acoustooptic
The electronic endoscope 110 of the fourth embodiment includes an acousto-optic
In the fourth embodiment, instead of the
Unlike the first to fourth embodiments in which the broadband light source is used to irradiate the broadband light BB, the fifth embodiment of the present invention is not provided with a broadband light source, but is provided with a fluorescent member at the emission end of the light guide. Broadband light BB is generated by irradiating the member with first to third narrowband lights N1 to N3. As shown in FIG. 16, in the electronic endoscope system 120 of the fifth embodiment, except that the fluorescent member 121 is provided at the emission end of the
The fluorescent member 121 converts a part of the first to third narrowband lights N1 to N3 into a broadband light BB having a wavelength of about 470 to 700 nm, while the other first to third narrowband lights N1 to N3. Is allowed to pass through. In 5th Embodiment, the imaging signal similar to 3rd Embodiment is obtained by irradiating 1st-3rd narrow-band light N1-N3 with the following procedures.
First, when the first narrowband
In the first to fifth embodiments, the blood vessel depth and the oxygen saturation are obtained using the first to third narrowband light sources, but the wavelength is further limited to around 532 nm (for example, 530 ± 10 nm). A fourth narrowband light source that generates four narrowband light N4 is added, and first to fourth narrowband image data is generated by irradiation with the first to fourth narrowband lights N1 to N4. Based on these image data Blood vessel depth and oxygen saturation may be determined. Since the light has a property of reaching a deeper layer of the subject tissue as the wavelength becomes longer, the use of the fourth narrowband light N4 having a longer wavelength than the second narrowband light N2 relates to a blood vessel at a deeper position. Information can be obtained.
In this case, the luminance
Further, instead of imaging every time the first to fourth narrowband lights N1 to N4 are irradiated, any one of the first to fourth narrowband lights N1 to N4 is used as in the second and third embodiments. You may reduce the number of frames of an imaging signal by irradiating the synthesized light and imaging. For example, first, the first narrowband light N1 and the fourth narrowband light N4 are simultaneously irradiated into the body cavity and imaged. Thereafter, the second narrowband light N2 and the third narrowband light N3 are simultaneously irradiated into the body cavity and imaged. Thereby, a total of two frames of imaging signals are obtained.
Imaging signals obtained by the first imaging are an imaging signal B1 and an imaging signal G1 having luminance values as shown below. In addition, imaging signals obtained by the next imaging are an imaging signal B2 and an imaging signal G2 having the following luminance values.
Imaging signal B1 = luminance value L1 from the first narrowband light N1 + luminance value L4 from the fourth narrowband light N4
Imaging signal G1 = luminance value L4 by the fourth narrowband light N4
Imaging signal B2 = luminance value L2 + by the second narrowband light N2 + luminance value L3 by the third narrowband light N3
Imaging signal G2 = luminance value L2 by the second narrowband light N2
Here, the second narrowband image data is generated from the imaging signal G2 having only the luminance value L2, and the fourth narrowband image data is generated from the imaging signal G1 having only the luminance value L4. Further, the first narrowband image data is generated by separating the luminance value L4 from the imaging signal B1 by the calculation of B1- (constant) × G1. Here, the “constant” is determined from the intensity ratio of the first narrowband light N1 and the fourth narrowband light N4. Further, the second narrowband image data is generated by separating the luminance value L3 from the imaging signal B2 by the calculation of B2− (constant) × G2. Here, the “constant” is determined from the intensity ratio of the second narrowband light N2 and the third narrowband light N3.
In the first to third embodiments, the first to third narrowband light sources are used to generate the first to third narrowband lights N1 to N3. However, the first to third narrowband light sources are not installed. In the electronic endoscope system 125 as shown in FIG. 17, in addition to the
As shown in FIG. 18, the
The
In the first to fifth embodiments, when the broadband optical image is generated, the broadband light BB is directly irradiated into the body cavity, and the broadband light BB reflected in the body cavity is captured by the color CCD. A broadband optical image is generated based on a broadband imaging signal (simultaneous method). However, RGB light of three colors is time-divided and irradiated into a body cavity, and each color of light reflected in the body cavity is reflected by a monochrome CCD. A broadband optical image may be generated based on three color imaging signals obtained by imaging (frame sequential method).
When imaging by this frame sequential method, a
In the normal light image mode, the
Each time the light of each color is irradiated, imaging is performed with a monochrome CCD, so that imaging signals of three colors of a blue imaging signal, a green imaging signal, and a red imaging signal are obtained. A broadband optical image is generated from the image signals of these three colors. Note that a blue image signal, a green image signal, and a red image signal obtained by the frame sequential method image each time light is irradiated, and therefore a time difference occurs between the signals. Therefore, when the color of the light irradiated into the body cavity is switched, if the subject's body movement or the movement of the insertion part of the endoscope occurs, the generated broadband optical image may be misaligned. is there. On the other hand, the wideband image obtained by the simultaneous method is generated based on the blue image pickup signal, the green image pickup signal, and the red image pickup signal acquired simultaneously by the color CCD.
Furthermore, in the special light image mode, the
Then, by imaging with a monochrome CCD every time each light is irradiated, an imaging signal of three colors of a blue imaging signal, a green imaging signal, and a red imaging signal is obtained, and the first to third narrowband imaging is performed. A signal is obtained. As in the normal light image mode, a broadband light image is generated from the obtained three-color imaging signals.
In the field sequential method, a
In the
FIG. 21 shows the reading order of the imaging signals when the
On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 21B, by rotating the
As described above, there is a difference in the readout order of the imaging signal between the case where the
Further, in place of the primary color CCD composed of B pixels, G pixels, and R pixels as shown in the above embodiment, complementary color colors composed of C (cyan) pixels, M (magenta) pixels, and Y (yellow) pixels. A broadband optical image may be generated by imaging with a CCD. In this complementary color CCD, as shown in FIG. 22, a C color filter having a spectral transmittance 160 in the C pixel, and an M color filter having a spectral transmittance 161 in the M pixel are provided in the Y pixel. A color filter having a spectral transmittance 162 is provided. In addition to the C pixel, M pixel, and Y pixel, a G pixel provided with a G color filter having the
In the present invention, at least two narrowband signals used for simultaneous acquisition of blood vessel depth and oxygen saturation are required, and at least one of the two narrowband signals has a center wavelength of 450 nm. Any narrowband signal corresponding to the following narrowband light may be used. In the above-described embodiment, a color CCD is used as the imaging unit. However, in the special light image mode, when the processing for reducing the number of frames as in the second and third embodiments is not performed, the monochrome CCD is used. A CCD may be used. For example, as in the first embodiment, when the first to third narrowband lights N1 to N3 are sequentially irradiated and imaged for each frame, a monochrome CCD may be used.
The present invention can be applied not only to an insertion type electronic endoscope having an insertion portion or the like, but also to a capsule type electronic endoscope in which an imaging element such as a CCD is incorporated in a capsule.
