Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a molding technique. In particular, it relates to incremental forming technology.
Incremental forming (sequential stretch forming) technology is suitable for high-mix, low-volume production. This incremental forming technique is said to be able to give large deformations to most metal plates. However, the realization of titanium alloy plates is still hindered. In particular, there has been no report on forming by high-strength titanium alloy plate with high yield strength by incremental forming. From the relationship between Young's modulus and yield strength, it is said that cold forming of a titanium alloy plate is almost impossible.
By the way, an aircraft is mentioned as a typical example in the field of high-mix and small-volume production. And many parts made of titanium alloy are adopted for the aircraft.
As described above, it is difficult to form a titanium alloy plate by the incremental forming technique. In other words, there has never been a report of cold working a titanium alloy product having a complicated shape to the final form. Many aircraft parts made of titanium alloy sheets are first preformed cold and then hot-sized at high temperatures to finish the final shape. When manufacturing complicated shapes integrally, they are formed by superplastic forming. However, both methods require a mold made of a material having oxidation resistance and high temperature strength. For this reason, the production cost of the mold is high. Furthermore, the preparation period becomes long. Therefore, the technique of forming a titanium alloy plate into a product tends to be avoided. That is, in many cases, an integrated cutting method is adopted from a titanium alloy thick plate. However, in this cutting method, 90% or more of the cutting method may become chips, resulting in poor material yield. Therefore, this method is also expensive. In addition, the environmental burden is large.
For this reason, it has been proposed that titanium alloy products such as aircraft parts are based on incremental forming technology using a simple type. This incremental forming technology has a low initial cost. Moreover, the preparation period is short. Furthermore, since there is no generation of chips as in the integrated cutting method, the material yield is high. Moreover, expensive equipment as in the case of hot sizing is not required.
However, when mere incremental forming is performed on the titanium alloy plate, the titanium alloy plate is often damaged.
In order to solve such problems, there has been proposed a technique of blowing warm air to a processed part during incremental forming. Alternatively, irradiation with a laser beam has been proposed.
By the way, “Incremental Forming with Local Heating” that blows warm air on the processing part is literally “Incremental Forming with Local Heating”, but in reality it is not “Local” but “Wide Range” Therefore, it is not “incremental forming with local heating”. In other words, the hot air hits the processed part, leading to breakage.
On the other hand, “incremental forming with local heating” by laser beam irradiation is literally local heating, but control of laser beam irradiation accompanying the movement of incremental forming tools is difficult, and conversely, incremental forming. It was difficult to heat the location locally. As a result, the problem that incremental forming was not effectively performed was recognized.
Therefore, the problem to be solved by the present invention is to solve the problem of “incremental forming with local heating” which occurs in the methods such as hot air spraying and laser beam irradiation. That is, it is literally to provide a technique capable of effectively and easily performing incremental forming with local heating.
While earnestly pursuing studies to solve the above-mentioned problems, the present inventor obtains a revelation that incremental forming with local heating will be possible if high-frequency induction heating technology is applied. It came to. In particular, in high-frequency induction heating, the amount of heat generated in the material to be molded is inversely proportional to the square of the distance between the induction coil and the material to be molded. In places where the distance of is far, it is hardly heated. Therefore, if there was an induction coil in which a high-frequency current was applied only in the vicinity of the place where the incremental forming was performed, a revelation was obtained that the vicinity of the area where the incremental forming was performed would be locally heated. is there.
The present invention has been made based on the above revelation.

This is solved by an incremental forming apparatus characterized by the following.
Further, the above-described incremental forming apparatus is solved by the incremental forming apparatus characterized in that the induction heating coil is provided with a cooling mechanism.
Large deformation can be imparted to the titanium alloy plate. That is, although incremental forming on a titanium alloy plate having a high yield strength is difficult, the incremental forming portion is locally heated to reduce the yield strength, so that the incremental forming is effectively performed. And since the heating was stopped at the place where the incremental forming was performed, the proof stress became large again, and the titanium alloy plate was hardly damaged.
Since the present invention employs the induction heating method as the local heating method in the incremental forming, for example, the local heating is actually more than the local heating by the hot air irradiation, and the forming by the incremental forming is very effective. Although laser beam irradiation is also excellent in terms of local heating, laser beam irradiation cannot effectively follow incremental forming, and the present invention is very effective compared to incremental forming with laser beam irradiation. .
The present invention does not require expensive equipment. For example, hot pressing is not necessary. Further, there is no need for a dedicated mold such as hot sizing or superplastic forming. That is, a simple mold is sufficient. And a simple deformation | transformation can provide a large deformation | transformation with respect to a titanium alloy plate by simple and low cost.
The present invention is a molding method. In particular, it is a forming method in which a metal material (metal plate) is subjected to incremental forming using an induction heating coil and an incremental forming tool to be formed into a predetermined shape. This method includes an induction heating step of locally heating an induction heating coil adjacent to an incremental forming portion to locally heat a metal material in the vicinity of the incremental forming portion. An incremental forming step of performing incremental forming on the metal material locally heated by the induction heating step. Preferably, almost no heating is performed at the place where the incremental forming process has been performed on the metal material. The following method can be considered as a method in which the degree of heating is lowered at the point where incremental forming has been performed. For example, the induction heating coil is configured such that a portion where the incremental forming process has been performed as the incremental forming progresses is relatively separated from the induction heating coil. For example, the position of the induction heating coil is displaced with the progress of incremental forming, and the induction heating coil exists only in the vicinity of the incremental forming portion. As a result, the degree of heating is reduced at the locations where the metallic material has been subjected to the incremental forming process. Alternatively, the induction heating coil is configured so that no current flows in the induction heating coil corresponding to the position where the incremental forming has been performed as the incremental forming progresses. This also reduces the degree of heating at the locations where the incremental forming process has been performed on the metal material. The induction heating coil is preferably provided with a cooling mechanism. Therefore, when the cooling mechanism is operated, it is possible to prevent the metal material from being generally heated even when a high frequency current is applied to the induction heating coil and the coil itself generates heat. The present invention is preferably carried out especially for titanium alloy plates. Of course, it is not limited to a titanium alloy plate. However, since conventional incremental forming has not been able to process a titanium alloy plate with large deformation, the proof stress is particularly high at 340 MPa or more (particularly 900 MPa or more, 1500 MPa or less: the value is a value at 25 ° C.). This is an effective technique for proof stress titanium alloy sheets.
Another aspect of the present invention is an incremental forming apparatus. This device has an induction heating coil. It also has an incremental forming tool. For example, an incremental forming machine is provided with a high frequency induction heating device. And only the vicinity of the location where the incremental forming is performed by the incremental forming tool is configured to be locally heated by the induction heating coil. For example, the induction heating coil of the induction heating device is configured to be relatively separated from a portion where the incremental forming process has been performed as the incremental forming progresses. Or it is comprised so that an electric current may not flow into the coil for induction heating corresponding to the location where the incremental forming process was completed with progress of incremental forming. By doing so, only the vicinity of the place where the incremental forming is performed is locally heated. Preferably, the induction heating coil is provided with a cooling mechanism.
This will be described in more detail below.

Next, incremental forming using the apparatus of the present invention configured as described above will be described.
First, the
Then, a high frequency current is passed through the
Therefore, incremental forming is started using the bar-shaped
Now, with the progress of incremental forming, the
That is, in incremental forming using the rod-shaped

Next, incremental forming using the apparatus of the present invention configured as described above will be described.

When the incremental forming at the location corresponding to the
Thereafter, incremental forming is performed in the same manner.
Even in the above-described manner, only the vicinity of the portion where the incremental forming is progressing is heated by high-frequency induction heating, and the heating by the high-frequency induction heating is small near the portion where the incremental forming has been completed. In other words, local heating is effectively performed only at the portions that require heating, damage such as breakage is unlikely to occur, and incremental forming is performed smoothly.
