26 is a chain cover, 27 is a movable rear fender that swings integrally with the rear wheel 2, and these are supported by the rear swing arm 20. The rear swing arm 20, the rear wheel 2, the chain cover 26, and the movable rear fender 27 are members that swing together, and correspond to the swing member of the present application. The storage portion 16 is positioned between the swing member and the seat 15.

FIG. 2 is an enlarged side sectional view of the storage portion 16 portion. The storage portion 16 has an opening opened upward, and the opening is covered with a sheet 15 so as to be freely opened and closed. The seat 15 is rotatably supported with respect to the seat rail 10 and corresponds to a lid member of the storage portion 16 in the present invention. When the seat 15 is closed, the seat 15 is locked by a seat lock (not shown) and unlocked. Unless this is done, the sheet 15 cannot be opened, and the contents of the storage portion 16 are protected.

The bottom portion 30 of the storage portion 16 also serves as a fixed-side rear fender and is curved upward so as to escape from the upper portion of the rear wheel 2. A bottom opening 31 is opened at the rear portion, and from here into the storage portion 16. A crown portion 33 which is a part of the stored helmet 32 protrudes downward. The size of the bottom opening 31 is smaller than the size of the occipital region 34 that is the largest of the peripheral sizes of the helmet 32, and the helmet 32 protrudes from the top opening 33 without falling down from the bottom opening 31. The size is supported by the surroundings.

The helmet 32 is stored in the storage unit 16 in an inverted state upside down, and a portion excluding the top portion 33 that protrudes downward from the bottom 30 and protrudes outside the storage unit 16 is stored in the storage unit 16. It is housed inside. In this state, the lower part of the helmet located above, that is, the part where the opening for inserting the head when worn is located at the upper end part of the storage part 16 and pressed by the bottom part of the seat 15. For this reason, the helmet is fixed so as not to move in the storage portion 16. Further, by locking the seat 15 to the vehicle body frame, a theft prevention structure for the helmet 32 in the storage portion 16 is obtained.

Although the storage unit 16 stores the helmet 32 which is a large component, the capacity can be reduced by the amount of the top portion 33 protruding to the outside. For this reason, the height from the bottom 30 to the upper opening can be reduced to the height of the portion of the helmet and 32 in the storage section 16, and the storage section 16 can be reduced in size, and the position of the seat 15 can be reduced. Since it can be lowered, the seat height can be lowered. Further, if there is no need to lower the seat 15, the bottom 30 can be raised upward, and in this case, the rear wheel 2 can have a larger diameter.

The bottom opening 31 is covered with a cover member 35 from below the storage portion 16. The cover member 35 is made of an elastic member rich in elasticity such as rubber, and the periphery thereof is attached to the bottom portion 30 by an appropriate attachment member 36 such as a rivet. In addition, the attachment means for fixing the cover member 35 to the storage part 16 can be appropriately fastened or adhered in addition to the rivet. When the top portion 33 of the helmet 32 is fitted into the bottom opening 31 and protrudes downward, the cover member 35 is pushed and extended by the top portion 33, extends downward, and the top portion 33 protrudes downward from the bottom portion 30. Allow to do.

Further, the cover member 35 contracts and restores when the helmet 32 is taken out from the storage portion 16, covers the bottom opening 31, and prevents mud, water, and the like splashed from the rear wheel 2 from entering the bottom opening 31. Stop. In addition, since it becomes a part of the bottom portion 30, it can also function as a fixed-side rear fender.

Note that the cover member 35 is a means for moving a part of the bottom portion 30 to protrude the top portion 33, and is not necessarily the cover member 35. Further, the object can be sufficiently achieved for downsizing the storage portion 16 by simply providing the bottom opening 31 without providing such a movable portion.

In the storage state of the helmet 32, the crown portion 33 protruding downward from the bottom opening 31 is located within a movable range in which swing members such as the rear wheel 2 and the movable rear fender 27 swing vertically, and the crown portion 33 swings. It interferes with the member to obstruct the swing of the swing member. The imaginary line L1 in the figure is a normal position of the movable rear fender 27 in an empty state before the rider is seated and in a stationary state (IG state), and is in a position where the movable rear fender 27 substantially contacts and interferes with the top portion 33. L2 is the position of the movable rear fender 27 when it is swung upwards. In this state, it overlaps with the top 33 and completely interferes.

Thus, it can be easily seen that the movable rear fender 27, which is the swing member closest to the top 33, is very close to the top 33, so that it cannot travel unless the helmet is taken out.

Note that L2 does not necessarily have to be the movable rear fender 27. In the case of a vehicle without the movable rear fender 27, L2 can be the contour of the rear wheel 2 itself. In addition to the rear wheel 2 and the movable rear fender 27, if there is one that is disposed closest to the top of the head 33, it can be a swing member that defines L2.

FIG. 3 is a perspective view of the storage portion 16. The storage portion 16 is made of an appropriate material such as resin, and a bottom opening 31 is formed at a substantially central portion of the bottom portion 30. The storage portion 16 is surrounded by a front wall 37, left and right side walls 38, and a rear wall 39 that continuously form a peripheral wall around the bottom portion 30. The upper ends of these peripheral walls face the seat and form an opening for entering and exiting articles such as helmets.

4 is a cross-sectional view taken along line 4-4 of FIG. 2. The bottom opening 31 is formed above the rear wheel 2, and the top 33 is located on the vehicle body centerline C. FIG. The bottom portion 30 and the cover member 35 project in the left-right direction from the movable rear fender 27 and form a fixed-side rear fender that covers the rear wheel 2 and the movable rear fender 27 widely.
However, if the movable rear fender 27 is provided and the movable rear fender 27 can sufficiently cover the bottom opening 31 against the mud and water that the rear wheel 2 jumps up, the cover member 35 may be omitted. Good. Further, if the bottom opening 31 is closed with a resin lid or the like, it can be used as a normal storage box.

The present invention is not limited to the above embodiment, and various modifications and applications are possible within the principle of the invention. For example, the lid member is not limited to the seat 15 and may be replaced with the rear cover 18. In particular, when the seat 15 is a single seat, the rear side thereof is covered with the rear cover 18, so that this portion may be configured as an openable / closable lid member.
