Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a projector that detects an error of a light source lamp.
A conventional projector determines that an error has occurred in the lamp and outputs a lamp error warning if the lamp does not turn on even after trying to turn on the lamp a predetermined number of times (for example, three times). At this time, if the lamp does not turn on even if the lamp is turned on, the projector restarts the lamp after a predetermined cooling time (for example, 30 seconds) has passed in order to protect the lamp and the circuit for lighting the lamp. Try.
However, in the conventional technology, even if the lamp is not mounted on the projector, it takes a certain time (for example, a few minutes) until the lamp error warning is output because the lamp is lit a predetermined number of times. There is.
The present invention has been made in view of the above points, and an object of the present invention is to provide a projector capable of detecting in a short time that a lamp is not mounted on the projector.
SUMMARY An advantage of some aspects of the invention is that a mounting unit for mounting a lamp unit and data from a memory included in the lamp unit via the mounting unit are provided. A memory reading unit that performs an operation of reading out, a lamp mounting determination unit that determines whether the memory reading unit has read data that meets a predetermined condition from the memory, whether normal or error, and the lamp And a lamp lighting unit that performs control to turn on a lamp included in the lamp unit when a determination result by the mounting determination unit is normal.
According to another aspect of the present invention, in the projector described above, the lamp mounting determination unit makes the determination result normal when the memory reading unit reads data including a predetermined character string. To do.
According to another aspect of the invention, in the projector described above, the memory reading unit outputs a read signal to the memory, and the lamp mounting determination unit outputs an acknowledgment from the memory to the read signal. When the determination is made, the determination result is made normal.
According to this invention, the projector determines whether or not the lamp is mounted (normal) or not (error) based on whether or not data matching a predetermined condition has been read from the lamp memory included in the lamp unit. Therefore, it is possible to determine whether or not the lamp is mounted in a short time (for example, within 1 second) without performing the process of lighting the lamp. Therefore, it can be displayed in a short time that the lamp is not mounted. Further, it is possible to distinguish and display an error when the lamp is not mounted and another error related to the lamp (for example, when the life of the lamp is exhausted).
In one embodiment of the present invention, in the projector described above, the mounting unit can mount a plurality of the lamp units, and the lamp lighting unit includes the lamp among the lamps included in the plurality of lamp units. Control is performed to turn on only the lamps determined to be normal by the mounting determination unit.
Usually, even when an operation for turning off the lamp (for example, pressing the power button when the power is turned on) is performed for the purpose of protecting the lamp, the projector turns on the lamp for a predetermined turn-off waiting time (for example, 2 minutes). ) Does not turn off the lamp. In a conventional projector, when a plurality of lamps are mounted, all lamps are turned on a predetermined number of times when the power is turned on. Therefore, for example, in a projector capable of mounting two lamps, when one of the lamps is not mounted, after lighting the mounted lamp, it tries to turn on the unmounted lamp a predetermined number of times. The time until the power of the projector can be turned off is prolonged by the time when the lamp is lit (for example, a few minutes). Therefore, for example, when one of the lamp units is not installed and the user accidentally turns on the projector and wants to turn it off immediately, the conventional projector can turn off the power. It takes a long time (light-off standby time + time when lamp lighting is attempted a predetermined number of times).
According to this invention, since the projector turns on only the lamp that is determined to be mounted among the plurality of lamps, it does not attempt to turn on the lamp that is not mounted a predetermined number of times (for example, three times). . As a result, when there is a lamp unit that is not installed, even if the user accidentally turns on the projector and wants to turn it off immediately, the power is turned off in a shorter time than before. can do.
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
[First Embodiment]

The
The
The

FIG. 2 is a block diagram illustrating a functional configuration of the lamp light
The lamp light
When the power button of the
The lamp
In this embodiment, it is determined whether or not the
The
The lamp
The lamp

As described above, the
[Second Embodiment]
Next, the
Usually, even when an operation for turning off the lamp (for example, pressing the power button when the power is turned on) is performed for the purpose of protecting the lamp, the projector turns on the lamp for a predetermined turn-off waiting time (for example, 2 minutes). ) Does not turn off the lamp.
The lamp light
