Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a fitting spline shaft used in a traveling apparatus such as a vehicle, a manufacturing method thereof, and a constant velocity joint outer ring, a power transmission shaft, a drive shaft, and a propeller shaft provided with the shaft.
In recent years, constant velocity joints used in traveling devices such as vehicles have been required to have high dimensional accuracy in order to prevent backlash and poor fitting at fitting portions, and constant velocity joint outer rings having fitting spline shafts. In particular, there is a demand for higher dimensional accuracy of splines.
When forming a spline by rolling (see Non-Patent Document 1), a pair of tooth-shaped tools are pressed in the radial direction of the workpiece to form a tooth shape at the pressed portion, and the tooth-shaped tool is moved. The spline tooth profile is formed by repeating the processing in the circumferential direction while rotating the workpiece. For this reason, the O.D. P. D. In addition, errors in pitch and pitch are likely to occur, and high adjustment techniques are required to improve accuracy.
On the other hand, press working (for example, Patent Document 1) is an O.D. P. D. Since the pitch is determined depending on the mold, the dimensional accuracy of the spline can be improved by improving the mold accuracy. However, the usual press work has a weak point in that the press load is continuously applied in one direction, so the work load is large, the die life is shortened, and the work cost is increased.
On the other hand, as a method of reducing the processing load on the mold, a method of pressing while vibrating one of the mold and the workpiece in the processing direction has been used. In conventional vibration machining, for example, as shown in
The servo press can freely control the slide operation by a servo motor, and thus vibration processing is possible without using a conventional vibration generating device (see, for example, Patent Document 3). Also, if the slide operation in the servo press is performed by position control, unlike the conventional processing method that gives a frequency, it is possible to keep the sliding amount of the forward and backward movement repeated during vibration processing constant regardless of the change in the processing load. In addition, it is also possible to change the vibration conditions during processing (see, for example, Patent Document 4).

Hereinafter, the process of forming a spline on the workpiece W will be described. First, as shown in FIG. 2, the workpiece W is supported on the
Next, the operation of reversing the rotation of the
In this way, the

(4) Measurement results The measurement results for the spline shafts of the examples and comparative examples obtained according to the above specifications were as follows.
(a) ピッチ
(a) Pitch The spline pitch was measured for each tooth over the circumferential direction of 360 °. The error from the target value (14.0 mm) is shown in the graph of FIG. As can be seen from this graph, the pitch processing error was much smaller with the spline of the comparative example having a maximum value of 0.042 mm, whereas the spline of the example had a maximum value of 0.005 mm.
(b) Overpin diameter (OPD)
The spline overpin diameter was measured for each tooth over the circumferential direction of 180 °. The error from the target value (31.38 mm) is shown in the graph of FIG. As can be seen from this graph, the processing error of the overpin diameter was as small as a maximum value of 0.008 mm for the spline of the example, while the spline of the comparative example had a maximum value of 0.012 mm.
(c) Cross-sectional shape of teeth and fiber flow The spline after processing was cut perpendicular to the axis, and the cross-sectional shape was enlarged and photographed with an optical microscope. Furthermore, after the cut surface was polished to a mirror surface, it was corroded to reveal the fiber flow, and the tissue state was photographed. The enlarged cross-sectional shape drawn from these photographs and the fiber flow observed in the structure are shown in FIGS. 8 (a) and 8 (b), respectively. As shown in the drawing, the cross-sectional shape of the spline is bilaterally symmetric in the crest and trough in the embodiment, but is asymmetric and distorted in the comparative example. In addition, the fiber flow seen in the structure appeared only in the vicinity of the surface layer in the examples and was dense, but in the comparative example, it was biased in the direction of rotation at the time of rolling, and the structure change extended deeply. . This difference in structure change is due to the input direction of the processing load. In the press, the load is applied in the direction of movement of the mold, so the change in structure in the radial direction is small, but in rolling, the load is applied in the radial direction and deep. Organizational changes are seen.
(5) Evaluation From the comparison of the above Examples and Comparative Examples and the observation during processing, the following is clear. By performing spline processing of the shaft portion in the constant velocity joint outer ring by processing in the spline axial direction using a press, high accuracy can be obtained with respect to the overpin diameter and pitch dimension of the spline. This high accuracy can be said to accurately transfer the mold shape. Since all the teeth are formed at one time in the press working, a high dimensional accuracy and an accurate spline shape can be obtained. In addition, the structural change observed in the fiber flow becomes homogeneous limited to the vicinity of the surface. On the other hand, in rolling, since teeth are locally and intermittently formed, the shape tends to be disturbed, and there are those in which squeezing occurs in which the tissues overlap in the circumferential direction near the tooth bottom. On the other hand, no stagnation occurred in the vibration processing.
By applying vibration processing to press processing, the processing load can be reduced and the life of the mold can be extended. Furthermore, the accuracy can be further improved by performing vibration processing with a servo press using a servo motor. As a feature of vibration processing using a servo press, there is control by the position of the slide and the amount of elevation. Since the lift amount affects the dimension in the axial direction, it is easy to derive an optimum condition, and shape control can be performed by changing the lift amount during processing. In addition, the servo press has low noise, and has an advantage that it can be stopped except during the machining cycle and energy-saving spline machining is possible.
As mentioned above, although one Embodiment of this invention was described, this invention is not limited to this, A various change is possible. For example, in the above-described embodiment, the work is placed in a stationary state and the mold is moved by the driving device. However, the work may be moved with respect to the stationary mold by reversing this.
