Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an optical disc apparatus that intermittently performs a recording operation, and more particularly to a technique for ensuring recording quality when there is a temperature change.
In recent years, recording and playback devices such as video cameras and video recorders using large-capacity optical discs such as Digital Versatile Disc (DVD) and Blu-ray Disc (BD) as recording media have emerged. In many cases, it is driven by a battery, and since it can be used for a long time, reduction of power consumption of an optical disk drive mounted in a video camera is an important theme.
As a conventional technique for reducing the power consumption of such an optical disk drive, a buffer memory capable of temporarily storing video / audio data is provided, and the recording rate to the optical disk is sufficiently faster than the video / audio encoding rate. The recording operation to the optical disc is stopped while the audio / video data amount in the buffer memory is accumulated up to the first predetermined capacity, and the recording operation to the optical disc is reached when the first predetermined capacity is reached. Is started, and when the amount of video / audio data in the buffer memory decreases to a second predetermined capacity, an intermittent recording operation for stopping the recording operation on the optical disc again is known.
In this intermittent recording operation, when the recording operation on the optical disk is stopped, for example, the operation of the spindle motor and the spindle motor control circuit, the optical head and the optical head control circuit, or the like is stopped. Reduces drive power consumption. Here, a period during which the recording operation to the optical disk is stopped is referred to as a standby state, and a period during which the recording operation to the optical disk is performed is referred to as an operating state.
On the other hand, the optical disk drive is easily affected by temperature variations, the state of the optical disk, and the like. Therefore, with respect to the output power of the laser for recording on the optical disk, recording is performed from the data error rate of the reproduced signal by performing recording while changing the output condition of the laser beam in a specific area on the optical disk prior to recording on the optical disk. The optical head control circuit reads the test data written in advance in a specific area on the optical disk by gradually shifting the focus position and tracking position according to the set control value, and the reproduction signal A learning processing operation is performed in which the optimum condition for optical head control is found each time based on the data error rate.
Conventionally, the learning processing operation is first performed when the user requests to start recording, that is, when the intermittent recording operation starts, and thereafter, the learning processing is performed at the timing when the intermittent recording operation transitions from the operating state to the standby state. It is known to perform operations. In addition, as an example of performing the learning process operation according to the ambient temperature condition, the temperature change is monitored using a temperature sensor or the like, and it is determined that the temperature difference is equal to or greater than a predetermined value compared to the previous execution of the learning process operation. In such a case, the learning processing operation is re-executed (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
However, in the above prior art, no special consideration has been given to a case where a large temperature change occurs in the operating state or the standby state of the intermittent recording operation. However, in recent years, with the increase in image quality of video cameras, heat generation of image pickup devices, codec LSIs, and the like has increased, and the capacity of buffer memories serving as temporary storage areas for video and audio data has been increasing. Therefore, for example, when a video camera or the like is used in a high-temperature environment, it is assumed that a rapid temperature rise occurs during recording on the optical disk in the operating state. In addition, as the capacity of the buffer memory increases, the time for the standby state becomes longer, and it is assumed that a significant temperature drop occurs during that time. In such a case where a temperature change occurs in the operating state or the standby state, there is no opportunity to execute the learning processing operation, so that the inappropriate learning result learned last time is used for recording, and the recording quality cannot be secured. There is.
An object of the present invention is to provide an optical disc apparatus capable of ensuring recording quality irrespective of a temperature change in an operating state or a standby state of an intermittent recording operation.
The optical disc apparatus according to the present invention includes a temperature detection unit, and when the learning process unit learns the optimum recording condition and then learns the optimum recording condition by the first temperature detected by the temperature detection unit and the learning process unit. Learning necessity determination means for determining whether or not the learning processing means needs to relearn the optimum recording condition based on whether or not the temperature difference from the second temperature detected by the temperature detection means exceeds the set value. And learning enable / disable determining means for determining whether the video / audio data stored in the buffer memory during the intermittent recording operation period is equal to or less than a predetermined value. When the learning necessity determination unit determines that re-learning is necessary, and the learning availability determination unit determines that the video / audio data accumulation amount is equal to or less than a predetermined value, the learning processing unit re-learns the optimum recording condition.
According to the present invention, it is possible to provide an optical disc apparatus capable of ensuring recording quality regardless of temperature changes in the operation state or standby state of the intermittent recording operation.

As a result of inquiring whether or not the learning process operation is necessary, the system controller 12 receives a notification from the
