Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a radiation measuring apparatus, and more particularly, to a technology for forming a light emitting layer that detects α rays.
Patent Document 1 discloses a conventional radiation measuring apparatus. Such a radiation measuring apparatus has a scintillator member having a light emitting film. The scintillator member is made of a plastic scintillator material that detects β rays. The light emitting film has a protective layer, a light shielding layer, and a light emitting layer as seen from the radiation incident side. The light shielding layer is configured as an aluminum vapor deposition layer. The light emitting layer is made of an adhesive material and a light emitting material that emits light upon incidence of α rays. Specifically, a mixed material is manufactured by adding a luminescent material as a powder to the adhesive material, and a luminescent layer is formed by applying it. The light emitting material is generally made of ZnS (Ag). The particle size generally varies within a range of 1.0 to 10 μm. In any case, in a normal state, ZnS (Ag) is in a powder form. According to this conventional configuration, the light emitting film can be quickly and easily formed on the scintillator plate by transfer. Patent Document 2 describes formation of a light emitting layer by coating.
In the above-described conventional configuration, it is difficult to increase the detection sensitivity of α rays depending on circumstances. That is, in order to increase the detection sensitivity of α rays, it is necessary to increase the addition ratio of the light emitting material (generally ZnS (Ag) as a powder) in the light emitting layer as the adhesive layer. There arises a problem that the light emitting layer cannot be stably formed or the adhesive action is weakened. If the thickness of the adhesive layer is increased in order to increase the amount of light emitting material per unit area, alpha rays are greatly attenuated before light emission occurs in the adhesive layer, or self-absorption of the generated light As a result, the problem arises that the luminous efficiency decreases. Conventionally, it can be said that there was only an idea of using a powdery light emitting material as it is. Under such an idea, the thickness of the light emitting layer cannot be made smaller than the particle size of the light emitting material.
An object of the present invention is to provide a new technique for forming a light emitting layer. Another object of the present invention is to realize an extremely thin light-emitting layer having a high-density light-emitting material for detecting α-rays.
The present invention includes a light-emitting film and a light detector that detects light generated in the light-emitting film, and the light-emitting film includes a light-emitting layer having a light-emitting material that emits light upon incidence of radiation. The layer relates to a radiation measuring apparatus characterized in that the layer is configured as a vapor deposition layer of the luminescent material.
According to the said structure, when a radiation injects into a light emitting film, light emission will arise in a light emitting layer, and the produced light will be detected with a photodetector. The light emitting layer is configured as a vapor deposition layer having a light emitting material. Desirably, the light emitting layer is formed by vaporizing the light emitting material in a vacuum and depositing the atoms or molecules (film-forming substance) of the light emitting material on the surface of the object. According to this, since the density of the light emitting material in the light emitting layer can be extremely increased and the thickness thereof can be controlled at the nano level, an extremely thin and high density light emitting layer can be realized. Although the vapor deposition method itself is a known method, the present invention realizes a light emitting layer having new physical properties or functions that cannot be obtained by the conventional method by applying it to a light emitting material. Examples of the vapor deposition method include an evaporation type vapor deposition method and a sputtering type vapor deposition method.
Preferably, the light emitting material is a material that emits light upon incidence of α rays. In general, the range of α-rays in a substance is very small, and self-absorption of light in the light-emitting layer is also a problem. Therefore, it is required to form a light-emitting layer thin and densely. Is formed as a vapor-deposited layer of luminescent material, an ideal α-ray detection layer can be realized.
Preferably, the light emitting layer has a thickness in the range of 0.1 to 2.0 μm. It is desirable to set the thickness of the light emitting layer according to the alpha rays to be detected and the density of the light emitting layer. The conventional method has a thickness limit and a density limit because powder is used. However, according to the above configuration, the thickness and density can be easily controlled. It is also easy to form a stable solid light emitting layer.
Desirably, the light emitting film includes a transparent back member to which the light emitting film is bonded, and the light emitting film has a basic adhesive layer for bonding the light emitting film to the back member. The back member may be a support member having transparency, or it may be composed of a scintillator. Preferably, the light emitting film has a light shielding layer provided on the radiation incident side of the light emitting layer. When configuring an α-ray detector, it is desirable to form an extremely thin light shielding layer. Preferably, the light shielding layer is configured as a vapor deposition layer of a light shielding material. Preferably, the light emitting film has a protective layer provided on the radiation incident side of the light shielding layer. The protective layer may have a light shielding function. In that case, it is desirable to color the protective layer.
Preferably, the light emitting film is configured as a laminated body including a first release film peeled from the first transfer sheet and a second release film peeled from the second transfer sheet, and the first release film is the light emitting layer. The second release film has the light shielding layer, and one of the first release film and the second release film has an intermediate adhesive layer for bonding them. Preferably, the light-emitting film is configured as a single release film that is peeled from a single transfer sheet, and the light-emitting layer and the light-shielding layer are in a directly bonded relationship, or through an intermediate layer. Are connected.
Preferably, another film is laminated on the radiation incident side of the light emitting film. The another film may have a second light shielding layer and a second protective layer. Preferably, the back member has a scintillator material that detects β rays. Preferably, the light emitting material constituting the light emitting layer is ZnS (Ag), and the light emitting layer is a solid layer formed by vapor deposition of the ZnS (Ag).
Further, the present invention includes a step of forming a luminescent film by a transfer method on a transparent back member, and a step of assembling a radiation measuring device using the back member on which the luminescent film is formed, The light-emitting film is a light-emitting layer as a first vapor-deposited layer made of a light-emitting material that emits light upon incidence of α rays, a light-shielding layer as a second vapor-deposited layer provided on the radiation incident side of the light-emitting layer, It is related with the manufacturing method of the radiation measuring device characterized by having. Using transfer technology, film formation can be performed quickly and easily. As a transfer method, thermal transfer is generally used, but pressure-sensitive transfer and the like are also included. Although the vapor deposition layer is a thin layer, it is present on the base member before transfer, so that it is physically protected and is present on the transfer destination member after transfer. Protected. For example, even when a vapor deposition layer cannot be directly formed on the surface of a plastic scintillator, there is an advantage that a vapor deposition layer separately formed can be easily formed on the plastic scintillator by using a transfer technique. But if a target object is suitable for vapor deposition, it is possible to form the light emitting layer as a vapor deposition layer directly with respect to the surface.
Further, the present invention provides the first release film on the transparent member by transferring the first release film peeled from the first transfer sheet and transferring the second release film peeled from the second transfer sheet. A step of forming a light-emitting film comprising a film and the second release film, and a step of assembling a radiation measuring device using a back member on which the light-emitting film is formed, wherein the first release film is an alpha ray The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a radiation measuring apparatus, characterized by having a light emitting layer as a first vapor deposition layer that emits light upon incidence, and wherein the second release film has a light shielding layer as a second vapor deposition layer. .
Further, the present invention vaporizes ZnS (Ag) for detecting α-rays, deposits the vaporized ZnS (Ag) on the object, and thereby 0.1 to 2.0 μm on the surface of the object. The present invention relates to a method for forming a light emitting layer, characterized in that a light emitting layer having a thickness within the range is formed.
As described above, according to the present invention, a new technique for forming a light emitting layer can be provided. Alternatively, it is possible to realize a light emitting layer having a high density of light emitting materials for detecting α-rays.
DESCRIPTION OF EXEMPLARY EMBODIMENTS Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1 shows a preferred embodiment of the
The
In the configuration example shown in FIG. 1, the
The
In this embodiment, the
The
In the present embodiment, the
In FIG. 1, β rays from the outside reach the
FIG. 2 is a conceptual diagram showing a method for manufacturing the scintillator member shown in FIG. In addition, the same code | symbol is attached | subjected to the structure similar to the structure shown in FIG. 1, and the description is abbreviate | omitted. In the manufacturing method shown in FIG. 2, two
In the second thermal transfer step, as indicated by reference numeral S102, the
FIG. 3 shows a part of a process for manufacturing the first
FIG. 4 shows another manufacturing method for the
