Abstract

Description
また、本明細書に例示される光導電体デバイスを用いた画像形成及び印刷の方法も開示される。これらの方法は、一般に、画像形成部材上での静電潜像の形成と、その後の、例えば、熱可塑性樹脂と顔料のような着色剤と電荷添加剤と表面添加剤とを含むトナー組成物による画像の現像とを伴い、特許文献1、特許文献2及び特許文献3を参照のこと。
さらに、可視光に対して感度を有する層状の可撓性光導電性部材が開示される。
さらに、機械的に堅牢な電荷輸送層を備えた、剛性又はドラム状、及び層状ベルト状の光応答性又は光導電性画像形成部材が開示される。
さらに、金属酸化物と、フェノール樹脂と、随意のフェノール化合物とを含む随意の正孔ブロッキング層を備え、フェノール化合物が少なくとも2個、より具体的には2個から10個のフェノール基を含み、又はフェノール樹脂が、例えば約500から約3,000までの範囲の重量平均分子量を有する、可撓性画像形成部材が開示され、これは、例えば、望ましい低残留電位Vlowの光導電体を通常もたらす、優れた効率的な電荷輸送性を有する正孔ブロッキング層を可能にする。

多くの溶媒に可溶又は実質的に可溶であるチタノセンの例には、ビス(η5−2,4−シクロペンタジエン−1−イル)ビス[2,6−ジフルオロ−3−(1H−ピロール−1−イル)フェニル]チタン、チタノセンビス(トリフルオロメタンスルホネート)、チタノセンジクロリド、(インデニル)チタン(IV)トリクロリド、(ペンタメチルシクロペンタジエニル)チタン(IV)トリクロリド、シクロペンタジエニルチタン(IV)トリクロリド、ビス(シクロペンタジエニル)チタン(IV)ペンタスルフィド、(4R,5R)−クロロ−シクロペンタジエニル−[2,2−ジメチル−1,3−ジオキソラン−4,5−ビス(ジフェニルメトキシ)]チタン、(4S,5S)−クロロ−シクロペンタジエニル−[2,2−ジメチル−1,3−ジオキソラン−4,5−ビス(ジフェニルメトキシ)]チタンなど、及びそれらの混合物がある。
アリールアミンのアルキル及びアルコキシは、例えば、1個から約25個の炭素原子、さらに具体的には1個から約12個の炭素原子を含み、例えば、メチル、エチル、プロピル、ブチル、ペンチル、及び対応するアルコキシドである。アリールは、フェニルなどのように6個から約36個の炭素原子を含むことができる。ハロゲンは、塩化物、臭化物、ヨウ化物及びフッ化物を含む。実施形態において、置換されたアルキル、アルコキシ、及びアリールを選択することもできる。
オーバーコートは電荷輸送層と同じ成分を含むことができ、電荷輸送小分子と適切な電気的に不活性な樹脂バインダとの間の重量比は、例えば約0/100から約60/40まで、又は約20/80から約40/60までである。
(A)画像形成部材又は光導電体を、3.5ミルの厚さを有するニ軸延伸ポリエチレンナフタレート基材(KALEDEX(商標)2000)の上にコーティングされた0.02マイクロメートルの厚さのチタン層を準備し、その上に、グラビア・アプリケータ又は押出コータを用いて、50グラムの3−アミノ−プロピルトリエトキシシラン、41.2グラムの水、15グラムの酢酸、684.8グラムの変性アルコール、及び200グラムのヘプタンを含有する溶液を塗布することによって調製した。次に、この層をコータの強制空気乾燥器の中で、135℃で約5分間乾燥させた。得られたブロッキング層は、500オングストロームの乾燥厚を有していた。その後、グラビア・アプリケータ又は押出コータを用いてブロッキング層上に液状コーティングを塗布することによって接着剤層を調製し、この接着剤層は、溶液の総重量を基準にして0.2重量パーセントのコポリエステル接着剤(Toyota Hsutsu Inc.製のARDEL(商標)D100)をテトラヒドロフラン/モノクロロベンゼン/塩化メチレンの60:30:10容量比混合物中に含んでいた。次に、接着剤層をコータの強制空気乾燥器の中で、135℃で約5分間乾燥させた。得られた接着剤層は、200オングストロームの乾燥厚を有していた。

Claims (5)
- 支持基材と、光生成層と、少なくとも1つの電荷輸送層とを備える光導電体であって、前記電荷輸送層のうちの少なくとも1つは少なくとも1つの電荷輸送成分を含み、前記光生成層及び前記電荷輸送層のうちの少なくとも1つはチタノセンを含むことを特徴とする光導電体。
- 前記チタノセンが、前記光生成層の中、及び前記電荷輸送層のうちの少なくとも1つの中に存在し、前記少なくとも1つの電荷輸送層が、1層、2層、又は3層であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の光導電体。
- 前記チタノセンが、前記電荷輸送層の中に約0.01から約20重量パーセント、及び前記光生成層の中に約0.1から約35重量パーセントの量で存在する、ビス(η5−2,4−シクロペンタジエン−1−イル)ビス[2,6−ジフルオロ−3−(1H−ピロール−1−イル)フェニル]チタン、チタノセンビス(トリフルオロメタンスルホネート)、チタノセンジクロリド、(インデニル)チタン(IV)トリクロリド、(ペンタメチルシクロペンタジエニル)チタン(IV)トリクロリド、シクロペンタジエニルチタン(IV)トリクロリド、ビス(シクロペンタジエニル)チタン(IV)ペンタスルフィド、(4R,5R)−クロロ−シクロペンタジエニル−[2,2−ジメチル−1,3−ジオキソラン−4,5−ビス(ジフェニルメトキシ)]チタン、及び(4S,5S)−クロロ−シクロペンタジエニル−[2,2−ジメチル−1,3−ジオキソラン−4,5−ビス(ジフェニルメトキシ)]チタンのうちの少なくとも1つから成る群から選択されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の光導電体。
- 前記電荷輸送成分は、アリールアミン分子を含み、前記アリールアミンは次式

前記チタノセンは、ビス(η5−2,4−シクロペンタジエン−1−イル)ビス[2,6−ジフルオロ−3−(1H−ピロール−1−イル)フェニル]チタン、チタノセンビス(トリフルオロメタンスルホネート)、チタノセンジクロリド、(インデニル)チタン(IV)トリクロリド、(ペンタメチルシクロペンタジエニル)チタン(IV)トリクロリド、シクロペンタジエニルチタン(IV)トリクロリド、ビス(シクロペンタジエニル)チタン(IV)ペンタスルフィド、(4R,5R)−クロロ−シクロペンタジエニル−[2,2−ジメチル−1,3−ジオキソラン−4,5−ビス(ジフェニルメトキシ)]チタン、及び(4S,5S)−クロロ−シクロペンタジエニル−[2,2−ジメチル−1,3−ジオキソラン−4,5−ビス(ジフェニルメトキシ)]チタンのうちの少なくとも1つから成る群から選択されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の光導電体。 - 前記光生成層は、金属フタロシアニン、無金属フタロシアニン、ペリレン、又はそれらの混合物を含む顔料を含み、前記チタノセンは、ビス(η5−2,4−シクロペンタジエン−1−イル)ビス[2,6−ジフルオロ−3−(1H−ピロール−1−イル)フェニル]チタン、チタノセンビス(トリフルオロメタンスルホネート)、チタノセンジクロリド、(インデニル)チタン(IV)トリクロリド、(ペンタメチルシクロペンタジエニル)チタン(IV)トリクロリド、シクロペンタジエニルチタン(IV)トリクロリド、ビス(シクロペンタジエニル)チタン(IV)ペンタスルフィド、(4R,5R)−クロロ−シクロペンタジエニル−[2,2−ジメチル−1,3−ジオキソラン−4,5−ビス(ジフェニルメトキシ)]チタン、及び(4S,5S)−クロロ−シクロペンタジエニル−[2,2−ジメチル−1,3−ジオキソラン−4,5−ビス(ジフェニルメトキシ)]チタンのうちの少なくとも1つから成る群から選択され、前記光導電体は、正孔ブロッキング層と接着剤層とをさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の光導電体。
