The present invention relates to a flame retardant ink composition, and more particularly, to a flame retardant ink composition that is mainly used for fabrics and can improve the vividness of hue and the friction fastness of a printed surface.

When printing fabric products such as flags, lanterns, curtains, tablecloths, etc., not only vivid colors but also frictional fastness of the printed surface is required.

Conventionally, in order to impart flame retardancy to such fabric products, printing has been performed using an ink composition containing a halogen-based mixed flame retardant composed of, for example, decabromodiphenyl ether and antimony trioxide. (For example, patent document 1).

However, in the prior art using the flame retardant as described above, there has been a problem that the hue of printing is whitened and sufficient sharpness cannot be obtained, or the friction fastness of the printed surface is not sufficient. Moreover, it was requested not to use the flame retardant containing a halogen from consideration to the environment.
Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 11-1871
