このように、本発明のスラグ流出防止用プラグを用いれば、スラグ11が混入しない溶鋼10のみを取り出すことができる。しかも本発明のスラグ流出防止用プラグは安価に製作することができ、しかも軽量で出湯口の内面になじみ易く、出湯口の内径が拡大しても容易に対応することができるものである。またプラグ本体1の外周面が乾燥防止用のフィルム5で被覆されているので、室内において長期間保存することができる。
次に本発明の実施例を示す。

愛知県瀬戸地方から出土した陶土を原料土とした粘土75質量部に25質量部のシャモット質のセラミック粒子からなるシャモット系耐火物を混合して耐火物を含有する粘土となし、これにさらに水分を25質量%混合したものを実施例1、前記粘土95質量部に5質量部のシャモット質のセラミック粒子からなるシャモット系耐火物をを混合して耐火物を含有する粘土となし、これにさらに水分を20質量%と植物油を5質量%混合して粘性と可塑性を調整したものを実施例2とした。尚、前述のシャモット質のセラミック粒子の円相当直径は1.8mm以下であった。これら実施例1,2を土練機に投入して外径が130mmの円柱状に押出した。これを長さ200mmに切断し、先端径120mm、基部径130mmのテーパ形状に切削加工した。成形後直ちに、その外面を乾燥防止用のポリエチレン樹脂フィルムで完全に覆った。   A clay containing refractory is made by mixing 25 parts by mass of a chamotte refractory made of ceramic particles with 75 parts by mass of clay made from porcelain excavated from the Seto district of Aichi Prefecture.
