Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a method for collecting training data serving as basic data for detecting the position of a predetermined mobile communication terminal such as a PHS terminal connected to a public communication network such as a public telephone line network or the Internet via a radio base station, and The present invention relates to a method for detecting a position of a mobile communication terminal.
In communication using a mobile communication terminal such as a PHS (Personal Handyphone System) terminal or a mobile phone terminal, mobile communication is performed via a base station (radio base station) that covers an area where the mobile communication terminal is located. A terminal is connected to an existing public telephone network such as the public telephone network or the Internet, and can communicate with other mobile communication terminals, ordinary wired telephones, computers, etc. through the public network.
In this case, the communication between the mobile communication terminal and the other base station is the base station located closest to the normal mobile communication terminal among the wireless base stations in the area where the mobile communication terminal is located. Done through.
At this time, it is not known where the mobile communication terminal is currently located, that is, the base station at a position close to the mobile communication terminal (normally, there are a plurality of base stations near the mobile communication terminal) is not known. In the case of mobile communication, even when the mobile communication terminal is not communicating (conversation) with other mobile communication terminals etc. It performs its own operations to inform the location and simultaneously obtain information about the base station.
Therefore, the current position of the mobile communication terminal is determined from the radio wave information held by the mobile communication terminal, more specifically from the identification information of the nearby base station and the received radio wave intensity information from the base station. (If the base station can be identified, position information such as the latitude and longitude where the base station is located is known, and the magnitude of the radio wave output from the base station is also known).
In recent years, position information providing services based on position detection of mobile communication terminals such as PHS terminals and mobile phone terminals have rapidly spread.
This type of position detection method using the relationship between the base station and the mobile communication terminal is inferior to the position detection method by the GPS receiver, but the accuracy of the position information is inferior, but the house or subway where GPS radio waves do not reach However, it can be used, and it is possible to avoid an increase in the size of the terminal by providing a GPS receiver, and there is a merit that current consumption can be reduced, and it is used as a useful method for narrowing down a rough position. Yes.
In particular, in communication using a PHS terminal, the distance range that can be communicated from one base station is significantly shorter than that of a mobile phone (about 100 to 500 m), and therefore many base stations are arranged at short intervals. It is easy to narrow down the current position of the PHS terminal.
For this reason, research on position detection using a PHS terminal is being conducted as a useful method.
Such location detection methods using mobile communication terminals include a security system in which service personnel and adults rush in response to emergency signals from school children's mobile communication terminals, searching for lost children and elderly people, searching for stolen goods, Alternatively, it can be used for searching people under the building when the house collapses, etc., and other applications such as confirmation of the current location of the user and search for the nearest facility to be used are beginning to be applied.
When detecting the current position of the mobile communication terminal, based on only the radio wave information possessed by the mobile communication terminal, that is, the position information of the surrounding base station and the radio wave output information of the base station, and the mobile communication terminal It is also possible to determine the current position of the mobile communication terminal from the received radio wave intensity information received from the base station.
The position information of the base station and the magnitude of the radio wave output are known in advance, and the strength of the radio wave is inversely proportional to the square of the distance from the transmission source and attenuates as the distance increases. The distance to the base station as a transmission source can be estimated and calculated by calculation.
Therefore, it is possible to know the current position of the mobile communication terminal by calculating the distance to these base stations from the received radio wave intensity for a plurality of base stations.
However, the degree of radio wave attenuation, that is, the decrease in radio field intensity accompanying an increase in the distance from the base station, changes greatly when there are radio wave obstructions or obstacles on the way, so the reception received simply by the mobile communication terminal The distance from the radio wave intensity to the base station is calculated based on the radio wave characteristics, that is, based on a calculated attenuation curve that the radio wave intensity is inversely proportional to the square of the distance and attenuates as the distance increases. The detection error becomes very large.
Therefore, for each point, the radio wave condition corresponding to the point is examined in advance, and training is performed by combining the position information of the point and the radio wave information including the identification information of the observed base station and the received radio wave intensity received from the base station. The data is taken (the act of refining the radio wave map described later with the collected training data is called training), and based on this, a radio wave map representing the radio wave information for each point is built and made into a database. There has been proposed a method of detecting the current position of a mobile communication terminal by comparing received radio wave information from a required mobile communication terminal with the radio wave map.
For example,
In the conventional position detection method using a radio wave map, training data is collected by a worker carrying a GPS receiver and a wireless device-equipped device to any place in the country, and using the GPS receiver for each point. It is performed by measuring radio waves at that point while specifying, and it takes a great deal of human labor, time and cost to collect training data.
FIG. 14 shows a general training data collection operation.
As shown in the figure, training data collection is performed by a radio base station observed at each location (point) while an operator has a GPS receiver and a device equipped with a wireless device and moves within the measurement target range. ID (identification number, that is, identification information) and observed radio wave conditions are collected as log data.
Looking at the figure, at the point (x, y), the received radio wave intensity from each of the base stations A 1 to A 6 indicates the values of S 1 to S 6 , respectively, which can be obtained on the location information and the spot. Record as training data in combination with radio wave information.
This is done all over the country to collect training data and build a radio wave map based on it.
As can be seen from the above, the conventional method requires a great deal of labor, time, and cost to collect training data and construct a radio wave map. Even if it is constructed, the radio wave conditions throughout the country are changing day by day, such as new buildings and other radio wave shields and obstacles being built or lost, or base stations themselves are newly installed or lost. The training data and radio wave map will deteriorate over time.
Accordingly, there is a problem that the position detection accuracy cannot be kept high unless the latest radio wave condition is continuously checked.
That is, in the conventional training data collection method and the position detection method using the radio wave map constructed based on this, the training data and the radio wave map must always be corrected. The required human, time, and cost burdens were large.
The present invention is based on the above circumstances, and training that does not require a great deal of human labor, time, and cost for collecting training data and for correcting the training data to the latest and optimum data. An object of the present invention is to provide a data collection method and a position detection method of a mobile communication terminal that can detect the current position of the mobile communication terminal with high accuracy using the data collection method.
Thus,
According to a second aspect of the present invention, there is provided a collecting method according to the first aspect, wherein when the training data is acquired, whether the mobile communication terminal is located within a set vicinity area of the certain one base station is determined. The terminal is automatically determined by the determining means based on the radio wave received from the one base station.
The collection method according to
The collection method according to
The collection method according to
As described above, the present invention collects training data in advance, but the present invention does not collect radio waves at every point and collects training data at every point. It is limited within the vicinity of the base station.
However, in the present invention, since the radio wave information obtained by the mobile communication terminal at the base station point (a point in the vicinity of the base station setting) is used as training data, the following specific effects can be obtained.
The training data is data that is a set of position information of a point at which training data is collected and radio wave information (base station identification information and radio wave intensity) observed at the point. Therefore, in order to collect training data, the position of the point where radio waves are observed must be known.
Therefore, conventionally, a GPS receiver is carried, and radio waves are observed at that point while specifying the position by the GPS receiver.
However, as long as these methods are used, a great deal of human labor, time, and cost are required.
Therefore, in the present invention, the radio wave information of the mobile communication terminal on the side receiving the location information service is used as a means for taking training data.
A mobile communication terminal originally has identification information for identifying a base station observed by radio waves and the intensity of radio waves from the base stations, that is, radio wave information. However, just because a mobile communication terminal receives radio waves and possesses radio wave information, it is generally not known at which point it was observed.
However, when radio waves are observed at a base station point where the mobile communication terminal is located (a point in the vicinity of the base station setting area), the position can be specified.
Specifically, it is possible to locate the mobile communication terminal on the assumption that the mobile communication terminal is approximately located at the base station.
In this case, the mobile communication terminal can use the radio wave intensity received from the base station as a powerful clue.
The radio waves emitted from the base station are inversely proportional to the square of the distance as the distance increases, and the radio field intensity attenuates. Therefore, the observed radio waves are significantly different between near the base station and beyond a certain distance. It will be a thing.
For example, the magnitude of each radio wave at a point 10 m away from the base station, or at a
Therefore, based on radio waves received from a base station, it is possible to automatically determine whether the mobile communication terminal is at the base station point (in the vicinity of the setting area) by the determining means. (Claim 2).
As a result, the radio wave information observed by the mobile communication terminal at the base station point can be handled as training data as a pair with the base station position information.
In this case, by detecting that the radio field strength received by the mobile communication terminal from the base station is greater than the set threshold value, the mobile communication terminal is within the base station point, that is, within the set vicinity of the base station. It is preferable to automatically determine that the object is located at (3).
In these methods, a user who has a mobile communication terminal automatically holds the mobile communication terminal in a normal daily activity and does not have the consciousness of collecting training data. Training data can be acquired.
That is, according to the present invention, it is possible to automatically acquire and collect necessary training data without actively performing the task of acquiring and collecting training data with the intention.
In addition, the training data obtained from the radio wave information held by the mobile communication terminal can always be automatically acquired the latest every day while the same or other users use the mobile communication terminal on a daily basis. .
Note that it is a difficult task to collect all radio wave information of the mobile communication terminal that changes every moment and to extract what becomes training data from the large amount of radio wave information.
In this case, the mobile communication terminal stores radio wave information that becomes training data, and transmits training data between the mobile communication terminal and a server on the position information providing side or another communication terminal. It is preferable that the stored training data is automatically transmitted to the position information providing side at a timing when communication is performed for a purpose other than (Claim 4).
Here, when data communication is performed with another communication terminal, it is possible to automatically transmit training data to the position information providing side by using piggyback.
If communication is performed with a server on the position information providing side, training data may be added before and after the data being communicated without using piggyback.
Piggyback is to send a plurality of data at the same time (overlapping), so that the communication terminal that relays the communication corresponding to piggyback divides the data sent by piggyback into a plurality of individual data, It is possible to transmit data to a communication partner and a server on the position information providing side.
The contents of the communication at that time can be various, and the present invention is not limited to this. In particular, according to
Next,
The position detection method according to
In this case, there is no training data at points other than the vicinity of the base station. In the present invention, this is obtained by interpolation as follows and interpolated.
As described above, the intensity of the radio wave emitted from the base station is attenuated in inverse proportion to the square of the distance from the base station. The degree of attenuation can be obtained by theoretical calculation.
However, if there are radio wave obstructions or obstacles on the way, the degree of attenuation will change greatly and will not be as calculated.
Therefore, in the present invention, the radio field intensity distribution around the position coordinates of the base station is obtained for each base station based on radio wave information (specifically, training data) observed by the mobile communication terminal in the vicinity of the base station.
That is, the training data (the radio wave information observed in the vicinity of the base station is approximately the position of the base station) is a combination of the base station position information and the radio wave information observed by the mobile communication terminal in the vicinity. Radio wave intensity distribution around the position coordinates of the base station.
This can be done as follows.
The radio wave information observed by the mobile communication terminal in the vicinity of the base station usually includes reception intensity information of radio waves transmitted from a plurality of other base stations.
Also, the distance from the mobile communication terminal (strictly speaking, the base where the mobile communication terminal is located in the vicinity) to other base stations that have observed radio waves, and the respective base stations that are the radio wave transmission sources. The magnitude of the radio wave output is known (the position of each base station is fixed, and the position information, that is, the distance between each mobile station and the base station considered to be approximately located at a base station is known. Therefore, by plotting the distance to each base station on the horizontal axis and the radio wave reception intensity observed for each base station on the vertical axis, the optimal attenuation curve that fits these plots is calculated, and the movement The radio field intensity distribution around the base station where the body communication terminal is located (strictly located in the vicinity) is obtained.
The radio field intensity distribution obtained in this way is not simply obtained by calculation, but arrives from other base stations that are separated from the base station where the mobile communication terminal is located by different distances. Since it is obtained based on the reception intensity of the radio wave, it is based on the actual situation, that is, based on the local situation.
In the present invention, such a radio wave intensity distribution is obtained for other base stations and for each base station. That is, the radio field intensity distribution for each base station is obtained around the position coordinates of the other base stations.
In this way, a radio wave map as an aggregate is constructed by combining the radio field intensity distributions obtained for a plurality of base stations.
This is stored in a database on the location information providing side server, and the current received radio wave information of the mobile communication terminal obtained by communication between the mobile communication terminal that is the target of location detection and the location information providing side is a radio wave map. The comparison is made, and the current position of the mobile communication terminal is determined and detected.
For example, received signal strength of the mobile communication terminal is received from the base station A 1 is -40 dBm (the magnitude of attenuation), and signal strength is received from the base station A 2 is assumed to be -50 dBm, the mobile current location of the communication terminal includes a zone surrounded by the contour line of the field intensity of -40dBm around the base station a 1, in the zone surrounded by the contour line of the field intensity of -50dBm around the base station a 2 is overlap That is, the mobile communication terminal is located in the part.
Various methods known in the art can be used as a method of determining the current position by comparing the radio wave map constructed in advance with the current received radio wave information obtained from the mobile communication terminal.
For example, a conventionally known method using a particle filter can be used as the method.
According to the present invention, it is possible to detect the current position of the mobile communication terminal with high accuracy by using an extremely small number of training data as compared with a conventional position detection method that does not use training data.

Even when the

The position detection method in this case is the same as described above.
The radio wave map is constructed by approximate calculation based on the collected training data group.
Thus, the training data is acquired and collected as follows.
The
However, if the radio wave information is acquired at a point where any base station is located, it can be training data.
This is because all the positions of the base station are fixed and known, and therefore it is possible to specify at which point the observed radio wave information is received.
However, in that case, it is necessary to know at which base station the
Therefore, in this embodiment, the following method is used to identify at which base station the received radio wave information of the
The intensity of the radio wave transmitted from the base station is attenuated in inverse proportion to the square of the distance from the base station.
In terms of the attenuation characteristics of the radio waves, for example, at points away from the base station by 10 m, 20 m, 30 m or more, the radio wave intensity is not much different, but on the other hand, about several m from the base station, for example, about 2 m. When the position is near, the radio wave intensity is clearly higher than that of a point 10 m or more away, and even if the distance slightly changes, the degree of change in attenuation is large.
In other words, when the intensity of the radio wave received by the
FIG. 2 shows the relationship between the distance from the base station and the received radio wave intensity (the graph of FIG. 2 shows the actual measurement result of the radio wave intensity observation using the wireless LAN base station and the corresponding wireless communication terminal. ).
This figure 2 shows the radio wave reception intensity while walking a pedestrian at points 2m away from the base station and points 10m, 20m, 30m, and 80m away. On the axis, the cumulative value of observed values (sample data) is shown on the vertical axis.
As shown in the figure, at a point that is more than 10m away from the base station, it is observed whether the distance from the base station is 20m, 30m, or 80m away. The radio wave intensity is not so different, but the received radio wave intensity at a point 2 m away from the base station is a remarkably large value with respect to the received radio wave intensity at a point 10 m or more away.
Therefore, by observing the received radio wave intensity from a certain base station, it is possible to know whether or not the
Therefore, in this embodiment, when the received radio wave intensity observed by the
In this embodiment, the threshold value is set in the control circuit of the

In this embodiment, the value of the received radio wave intensity that is observed when the user holding the
However, the output of the radio wave transmitted from each base station is not the same magnitude, but is variously different.
Therefore, the threshold value is set according to the magnitude of the output of the radio wave transmitted from the base station (the position information provider can also set the threshold value and update it as necessary).
Therefore, the

The user moves this time towards the base station A 2, and received signal strength from the base station A 2 exceeds the threshold K 2 set corresponding to the base station A 2, that stage in the

S 3 , S 4 , S 5 , and S 6 also represent the reception intensity of the radio wave transmitted from the corresponding base station.
In this embodiment, the training data obtained in this way is collected on the server 24 side of the position
The specific contents are as follows.
For example, when the radio wave intensity distribution around the base station A 1 is obtained, the base stations A 2 , A 3 , A 4 , A 5 , A 6 , A 7 , A 8 , A 9 (see FIG. 6; see FIG. 4 for the base station). A 7 , A 8 , and A 9 are not shown), and the received radio wave intensity in the vicinity of the base station A 1 and the base stations A 1 to A 2 , A 3 , A 4 are transmitted. , A 5 , A 6 , A 7 , A 8 , A 9 as a pair (the distances from the base stations A 2 to A 9 can be obtained by calculation since the positions of the respective bases are known). and the distance of the horizontal axis from the base station a 1 to the base, and the vertical axis represents the received signal strength, plotting the respective training data.
Then, exponential function approximation that minimizes the distance from all plot points is performed by the method of least squares to obtain the equation Q in FIG.

In FIG. 7, the horizontal axes x and y orthogonal to each other represent the position coordinate axes, and the vertical axis z represents the radio wave intensity.

8 is based on the received radio wave intensity from the base station A represented by the black square in the vicinity of the base station represented by the white square and the distance from each base station of the white square to the base station of the black square. This is a numerical representation of the radio wave intensity distribution around the black square base station obtained by the formula Q obtained by the approximate calculation using the least square method (the numbers in the figure show the attenuation values of the radio waves). And each grid is 10 m square).
In this figure, the limit position where -80 dBm can be observed is not shown for radio field strengths less than -80 dBm (the absolute value of which is large).

FIG. 12 shows the position detection according to the present embodiment, the deviation from the actually measured position is obtained, and this is shown in comparison with the case where the position is detected by the method according to Comparative Example 1.
Here, the position detection according to the present embodiment uses a wireless LAN base station as a base station, and detects a position at that time while a person walks with a wireless terminal, and the position detection result is shown on the horizontal axis. The time is represented on the vertical axis by taking an estimation error between the actually measured position and the time.
The method of Comparative Example 1 is a position detection method that does not use training data. Each radio wave observed using a theoretical free-space loss equation from the radio wave intensity value of the observation data of the wireless terminal. In this method, the estimated distance to the base station is obtained and the current position of the receiving terminal is determined.
In this comparative example 1, if three or more base stations are observed by the wireless terminal, the position is estimated by triangulation based on the estimated distance to the base station and the position information of the base station, and the observation is performed. When there is one base station, the installation position of the base station is the estimated position, and when the base station is two, the internal dividing point corresponding to the strength of the radio field strength is the estimated position and It represents the amount of deviation.
As can be seen from this figure, in the case of the method of this embodiment in which the position detection is performed based on the training data and the radio wave model constructed from now on, it can be seen that the position detection accuracy is higher than that of the comparative example 1. I can take it.
Incidentally, in the case of the method of the present embodiment, the average error of position detection within the measured range is about 18 m, but in the case of the method of Comparative Example 1, the average error is about 54 m.
On the other hand, FIG. 13 shows the position detection by the method of the present embodiment, actually carries a GPS receiver, collects training data, creates a radio wave map based on the result, and observes the radio wave map and the wireless terminal. This is a comparison of the result of detecting the current position of the wireless terminal (Comparative Example 2) by comparison with data.
From FIG. 13, the method of this embodiment is inaccurate compared to Comparative Example 2 in which training data is collected using a GPS receiver and the position of the wireless terminal is detected from the result, but the difference is compared. It can be seen that it is a little bit.
Although the embodiment of the present invention has been described in detail above, this is merely an example, and the present invention can be implemented in variously modified forms without departing from the spirit of the present invention.
