Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an automatic ultrasonic inspection apparatus particularly intended for breast cancer screening.
Currently, ultrasound for the purpose of early detection of breast cancer is performed by an ultrasound engineer (hereinafter referred to as an engineer) applying an ultrasound probe (hereinafter referred to as a probe) to the breast while a cross-sectional image of the breast (medicine) (Tomographic image) is displayed in real time, and the tomographic image that appears to be abnormal according to the judgment of the engineer is frozen and recorded, and only a few images judged to be abnormal are provided to the doctor as photographs. The doctor will make a diagnosis. This method, which is performed manually by an engineer, reduces the burden on the doctor because the number of tomographic images diagnosed by the doctor is small, but the engineer manually displays the tomographic image over the entire breast while manually operating the probe, and identifies the abnormal site. The photographer has to shoot without oversight, and the technician spends a lot of time operating the probe, so the burden on the technician becomes very large. Also, since the image that the engineer did not shoot cannot be seen, it can not be confirmed even if there is an oversight, and whether or not the abnormal site can be found reliably depends greatly on the skill of the engineer and takes time. The method of manually operating the probe by an engineer is not suitable for screening.
The present invention is intended to solve such conventional problems, and provides an ultrasonic inspection apparatus for breast cancer screening that can reduce the burden on doctors and technicians, has little oversight, and can flexibly respond to the situation of the facility. The purpose is to do. In addition, it provides a particularly clear image for abnormal areas, accurately determines abnormal areas and eliminates oversight, and allows past images of the same area to be easily searched and displayed, enabling more accurate diagnosis in a short time. The purpose is to provide a system.

The operation and effect of the first problem solving means are as follows. That is, a probe that performs electronic scanning, a probe moving mechanism that moves the probe in a direction substantially perpendicular to the electronic scanning surface, an ultrasonic transmission / reception circuit, an ultrasonic image generation unit that generates an ultrasonic image, and an ultrasonic image display In the ultrasonic inspection apparatus provided with the display means for recording and the recording means for recording the ultrasonic image, the moving mechanism can stop the movement of the ultrasonic probe at an arbitrary position, and the ultrasonic wave when the movement is stopped Since the image can be recorded, the technician does not need to manually operate the probe, and the image of the abnormal part is selectively recorded when the probe is rotated once and the mechanical scanning is completed. The burden on the doctor is also reduced because the burden on the engineer is small and only abnormal images can be provided to the doctor.
The action and effect of the second problem solving means is that the engineer can select the optimum cross section by providing a moving mechanism that allows the probe to move before and after the stop position after the probe stops moving. It is possible to improve the diagnostic ability by improving the image quality of the abnormal part particularly important in the examination time.

It is possible to provide a clearer image by vertically incidence. Further, it is easy to distinguish between a true image and multiple reflection artifacts, and the artifacts can be removed by image processing.

In addition, the doctor can interpret the image selected by the engineer at an arbitrary place in a short time.
The action and effect of the tenth problem solving means is to provide a display function capable of searching and displaying past images taken at the position of the same ultrasonic probe of the same subject on the ultrasonic inspection apparatus or the interpretation workstation. Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. FIG. 1 is a system configuration diagram showing the entire ultrasonic inspection apparatus of the present invention. The ultrasonic inspection unit 1 includes a liquid container, an ultrasonic linear array probe (hereinafter simply referred to as a probe) that performs electronic scanning, a probe rotation mechanism, a support mechanism, and the like, and transmits and receives ultrasonic pulses to and from a subject. Is a unit. A portion B surrounded by an alternate long and short dash line in FIG. 1 is a main body portion of the ultrasonic inspection apparatus, and C includes an
FIG. 2 shows an example of a sectional view of the structure of the ultrasonic inspection unit 1. In the
On the other hand, the
受信信号処理回路3で処理された信号はDSC(ディジタルスキャンコンバータ)4に書き込まれる。 The pulse voltage generated by the pulse generator 6 in the main part B is transmitted to the
Linear electronic scanning (hereinafter simply referred to as linear scanning) is performed as follows. That is, an ultrasonic beam is first transmitted / received at the left end of the
The mechanism control circuit 8 is a circuit that controls the tilt angle and the vertical position in addition to the rotation control of the probe in the ultrasonic inspection unit 1. Although not shown in the figure, the rotation angle, inclination angle, and vertical position of the probe are detected by a sensor attached to the rotation shaft and supplied to the position / angle detection unit 7, and the rotation angle, inclination angle, and vertical position are added. The image is superimposed on the image by the
On the
Next, the operation of the system according to the present invention will be described in detail. 3 is a simplified representation of the
Prior to the start of imaging, the
If the
When the engineer presses the
The
When recording at one stop position is completed, when the photographing
Next, a tomographic image displayed when the
Also, by adding a plurality of these images, the signal-to-noise ratio (hereinafter referred to as SNR) can be increased, and an image with less noise can be provided. If the number of added sheets is n, the SNR can be increased by √n times. For example, if 9 sheets are added, the SNR is tripled. The added number is set by the added
If an image is taken by changing the inclination angle of the
In order to image the abnormal site by stopping the probe, it is necessary to select an optimal cross section, and therefore it takes about 10 seconds per cross section. On the other hand, the time required for the composite scan and the addition process is 768 milliseconds assuming that the composite scan in five directions and the addition process for four sheets are performed. When there are three cross-sections including an abnormal part in one breast examination, the examination time for one-way breast is 20 seconds + (10 + 0.687) × 3 = 52 seconds. If not only when the probe is stopped but also while moving, the combined scanning in 5 directions and the addition processing of 4 sheets are always performed, the inspection time of one breast is (20 × 5 × 4) + 10 × 3 = 430 seconds (about 7 minutes), and the advantages of performing complex scanning and addition processing only when the probe is stopped are clear.
The tomographic image in which the
When the engineer is not sufficiently trained and the doctor needs to view all images, the all
FIG. 6 is an explanatory diagram when a doctor interprets an image at an
All images taken in the past are stored in the
In the above-described embodiment, the water immersion method in which the probe is moved in warm water has been described. However, the method is not limited to the water immersion method, and a direct contact method may be used. Further, although the case of mechanical scanning by the rotation of the probe has been described, other mechanical scanning methods such as parallel movement of the probe may be used.
