Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a radiation detector used in a medical X-ray imaging apparatus or the like.
The radiation detector includes an indirect conversion type radiation detector in which radiation such as X-rays is first converted into light and then the converted light is further converted into an electrical signal by photoelectric conversion, and incident radiation is converted by a charge conversion layer. A direct-conversion radiation detector that is directly converted into an electrical signal is known.
As a direct conversion type radiation detector, a radiation detector disclosed in Patent Document 1 is known. In the radiation detector of Patent Document 1, a plate-like cover glass that covers amorphous selenium is provided above amorphous selenium as a charge conversion layer. This cover glass is joined to a protective member standing on the outer periphery of the active matrix substrate. The upper portion of the protective member projects upward from the center of the substrate, and the upper surface of the outer peripheral portion of the cover glass is joined to the lower surface of the upper portion of the protective member.
In the radiation detector of Patent Document 1, when the ambient environment (mainly temperature) changes, stress generated by the difference in thermal expansion coefficient of each member pressurizes amorphous selenium. In particular, a large stress is generated at the joint portion between the cover glass and the protective member, and the amorphous selenium is pressed. By this pressure, amorphous selenium is deteriorated by causing crystallization, and the detection accuracy of radiation is lowered.
In view of the above-described facts, an object of the present invention is to provide a radiation detector capable of reducing the pressure that the charge conversion layer receives from the surroundings and suppressing the deterioration of the charge conversion layer.
The radiation detector according to claim 1 of the present invention includes a charge conversion layer that generates charges when radiation is incident in a state where a bias voltage is applied, and the charge conversion layer provided below the charge conversion layer. A substrate having a lower electrode part for collecting the generated charges, an upper electrode part stacked on the charge conversion layer and applying the bias voltage to the charge conversion layer, and provided on the upper electrode part A cover member that covers the upper electrode portion, a filling member that is filled between the cover member and the upper electrode portion, and an upper portion that is erected on the outer peripheral portion of the substrate, the upper portion being above the central portion of the substrate And a protective member disposed on the outside of the charge conversion layer. The protective member is extended to the outer periphery of the cover member and bonded to the outer peripheral portion of the cover member.
According to this configuration, a bias voltage is applied to the charge conversion layer via the upper electrode portion. The charge conversion layer generates charges when radiation is incident in a state where a bias voltage is applied. The charges generated by the charge conversion layer are collected by the lower electrode part.
Here, in the structure of Claim 1, since the junction part of a cover member and a protection member is arrange | positioned on the outer side of a charge conversion layer, the stress which generate | occur | produces in the junction part of a cover member and a protection member does a filling member To be transmitted to the charge conversion layer. Thereby, the pressure which a charge conversion layer receives can be reduced and deterioration of a charge conversion layer can be suppressed.
A radiation detector according to a second aspect of the present invention is the radiation detector according to the first aspect, wherein the extension extends from the upper electrode portion to a region on the substrate where the charge conversion layer is absent from the side surface of the charge conversion layer. An intermediate layer formed between the electrode part, and between the charge conversion layer and the upper electrode part and between the extension electrode part and the substrate, and increasing the bonding force between the extension electrode part and the substrate; A conductive line electrically connected to the extension electrode part in the region without the charge conversion layer on the substrate and applying a bias voltage from the extension electrode part to the charge conversion layer via the upper electrode part. It is characterized by that.
In this configuration, the extension electrode portion is electrically connected to the lead wire in a region where there is no charge conversion layer on the substrate, and charge conversion is performed as compared with the configuration in which the lead wire is connected on the charge conversion layer. The pressure applied to the layer is reduced, and deterioration of the charge conversion layer can be suppressed.
The intermediate layer for increasing the bonding force between the extension electrode portion and the substrate is formed between the charge conversion layer and the upper electrode portion and between the extension electrode portion and the substrate. Compared to the structure in which the member that enhances the bonding strength of the electrode extends under the charge conversion layer from between the extension electrode portion and the substrate, creeping discharge from the extension electrode portion to the lower electrode is suppressed, and the member is provided under the charge conversion layer. Insulation with respect to the lower electrode portion can be ensured.
Since the present invention has the above-described configuration, it is possible to reduce the pressure that the charge conversion layer receives from the surroundings in consideration of the above fact, and to suppress the deterioration of the charge conversion layer.
Below, an example of an embodiment of a radiation detector concerning the present invention is explained based on a drawing.
The radiation detector according to the present embodiment is used in an X-ray imaging apparatus or the like, and includes an electrostatic recording unit including a photoconductive layer that exhibits conductivity when irradiated with radiation. The image information is recorded upon receiving the irradiation of the radiation carrying the image, and the image signal representing the recorded image information is output.
As the radiation detector, a so-called optical reading type radiation detector that reads using a semiconductor material that generates charges by light irradiation, and charges generated by radiation irradiation are accumulated, and the accumulated charges are thin film transistors ( There is a radiation detector that reads by turning on and off an electrical switch such as a thin film transistor (TFT) one pixel at a time (hereinafter referred to as TFT method).
(Configuration of TFT radiation detector)
First, a TFT radiation detector will be described. FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram showing the overall configuration of a TFT radiation detector. FIG. 2 is a diagram showing a configuration of a main part of the radiation detector and showing each part laminated on the glass substrate.
As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the

(Operation principle of TFT radiation detector)
Next, the operation principle of the above-described
The charge stored in the
Next, the
In addition, various metal films and conductive oxide films are used as the charge collection electrode, and transparent conductive oxide films such as ITO (Indium-Tin-Oxide) are often used for the following reasons. When the incident X-ray dose is large in the radiation detector, unnecessary charges may be trapped in the semiconductor film (or in the vicinity of the interface between the semiconductor film and an adjacent layer). Such residual charges are stored in memory for a long time or move while taking time, so that X-ray detection characteristics deteriorate during subsequent image detection, and afterimages (virtual images) appear. Therefore, Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 9-9153 (corresponding US Pat. No. 5,563,421) discloses that when residual charges are generated in the photoconductive layer, the residual charges are excited by irradiating light from the outside of the photoconductive layer. A method for removing the image is disclosed. In this case, in order to irradiate light efficiently from the lower side (charge collecting electrode side) of the photoconductive layer, the charge collecting electrode needs to be transparent to the irradiation light. In addition, for the purpose of increasing the area filling factor (fill factor) of the charge collection electrode or for shielding the switch element, it is desirable to form the charge collection electrode so as to cover the switch element, but the charge collection electrode is opaque. In this case, the switch element cannot be observed after the charge collecting electrode is formed.
For example, when the characteristics of the switch element are inspected after the charge collection electrode is formed, if the switch element is covered with an opaque charge collection electrode, when the switch element has a characteristic defect, It cannot be observed with an optical microscope or the like. Therefore, it is desirable that the charge collection electrode is transparent so that the switch element can be easily observed even after the charge collection electrode is formed.

As shown in FIG. 1, an
As shown in FIG. 5, the

In the configuration of the present embodiment, the
By the way, in the configuration in which the
In the configuration in which the
On the other hand, in the present embodiment, the
In the configuration of the present embodiment, the hole

Further, when using Au or the like for the

The
The first transparent
Further, the
As each second transparent
The first transparent
In the
When recording is performed by connecting the first transparent
In addition, a conductive member having better conductivity than the first transparent
The member of the
In addition, when a conductive member such as a metal material is used as the member of the
When the
Further, when the gap between the first transparent
