プリンタ本体の媒体供給部より発行口側に繰り出される帯状の印字媒体側に刃先を向けてプリンタ本体に取り付けた第1のカッター刃と、
前記プリンタ本体に対し開閉自在な開閉カバー部と、
前記開閉カバー部に取付けるとともに、前記第1のカッター刃の刃先に対向して刃先を配して設けた第2のカッター刃と、
前記開閉カバー部の開放時、前記第2のカッター刃を覆うとともに、閉成時第2のカッター刃を露出させるシャッター部材と、を有し、
前記第1および第2のカッター刃の間に繰り出された帯状の印字媒体を、前記第1および第2のカッター刃を噛み合わせることにより切断することを特徴とするプリンタの切断装置。
