Description

The present invention relates to a mascara applicator.

As the mascara brush, for example, a so-called screw brush is known which is obtained by spirally twisting a plurality of brush fiber bundles made of, for example, a thermoplastic resin while being sandwiched between two metal core wires ( Patent Document 1). There are various cosmetic effects applied to the eyelashes using such a brush, and among them, the curling effect is essential. In order to obtain the curl effect, it is necessary to apply a large amount of drug to the eyelashes using a mascara brush in which the mascara drug is stored. However, for this purpose, repeated coating is required many times, which is troublesome. Furthermore, there is an inconvenience that the makeup effect is deteriorated by overcoating. Specifically, it takes time because the brush goes back and forth between the container containing the mascara and the eyelashes many times, and the drug applied earlier solidifies during that time. If so, the applied drug is peeled off, and so-called lumps are likely to occur.

By the way, in the mascara brush described in Patent Document 1, the amount of the mascara drug stored in the brush portion is substantially constant on the entire circumferential surface of the brush shaft. Thus, proposals have been made to form a portion with a large amount of drug storage and a portion with a small amount of medicine in one brush portion. For example, in Patent Document 2, it is possible to change the amount of mascara drug retained in the groove by providing a plurality of grooves orthogonal to the axis on the shaft of the brush portion and varying the depth of the groove. Proposed. In Patent Document 3, a partition member extending in the axial direction is provided near the peripheral end of the brush portion that is radially extended from the shaft body, and the hair end surface of the brush is partitioned into two or more portions and partitioned. It has been proposed to change the amount of mascara attached to each part by varying the length and density of the hair material of the part. In Patent Document 4, an entry member is made to enter a brush portion made of a bristle material radially projecting around a core material so that the bristle material is pushed away. It has been proposed to change the adhesion amount of the mascara drug in these parts. However, even with these mascara brushes, it is not easy to reliably prevent the occurrence of lumps when applying the mascara drug.

Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide a mascara applicator that can eliminate the drawbacks of the prior art described above.

The present invention comprises a coating head extending in the longitudinal direction of the support shaft at the tip of the support shaft,
The application head has an application part having a mascara drug application function and a scraping part having a mascara drug scraping function, each extending in the longitudinal direction of the application head,
The present invention provides a mascara applicator in which the application section and the scraping section are alternately arranged in parallel.

According to the present invention, when the mascara drug is applied from the lower side of the eyelashes to the entire eyelashes by the application unit, the mascara drug applied to the lower side of the eyelashes is forcibly scraped off by the scraping unit. As a result, even if the drug application operation is repeated, the occurrence of lumps is less likely to occur. Further, since the mascara drug applied to the lower side of the eyelashes is scraped off by the scraping part and the mascara drug is unevenly distributed on the upper side of the eyelashes, the eyelashes can be curled cleanly. In particular, the eyelashes can be curled more neatly by using a mascara agent having a high degree of shrinkage due to drying. The mascara applicator of the present invention is particularly effective when applying a mascara drug having a high drying rate.

The present invention will be described below based on preferred embodiments with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1A shows an embodiment of the mascara applicator of the present invention. FIG.1 (b) is the figure which looked at the application head of the applicator shown to Fig.1 (a) from the axial direction. The mascara applicator 10 has a rod-shaped support shaft 11, an application head 12 supported at the tip of the support shaft 11, and a grip portion 13 coupled to the rear end of the support shaft 11.

The coating head 12 extends in the longitudinal direction of the support shaft 11. The coating head 12 has a substantially cylindrical shape as a whole. The coating head 12 has a core material 14 and a large number of hair materials 15 held by the core material 14. The hair material 15 protrudes from the periphery of the core material 14. When viewed from the axial direction of the core material 14, the bristle material 15 projects radially. The bristle material 15 is held by the core material 14 by twisting them in a spiral while holding a plurality of brush fiber bundles made of, for example, a thermoplastic resin with two metal core wire materials (not shown). Yes. In the present specification, the term “hair material” may refer to a single hair material or a collection of many hair materials depending on the context.

A plurality of elongated rectangular plate-like bodies 16 are attached to the coating head 12. Here, the term “elongate” means that the thickness of the plate-like body 16 is 0.1 to 1 mm and the length of the plate-like body 16 is 5 to 40 mm. The plate-like body 16 is attached to the coating head 12 so that the longitudinal direction thereof coincides with the longitudinal direction of the coating head 12. Specifically, as shown in FIGS. 1A and 1B, in the present embodiment, three plate bodies 16 are used, and each plate body 16 has a pair of side edges along the longitudinal direction. Of these, one side edge is fixed to the core member 14. The other side edge is a free end 16F. Each plate-like body 16 is arranged so that its width direction extends radially around the core member 14 as shown in FIG. The three plate-like bodies 16 are arranged at equal intervals, that is, arranged so that the angle formed by the adjacent plate-like bodies 16 is 120 degrees.

Since the three plate-like bodies 16 are arranged on the coating head 12, the bristle material 15 in the coating head 12 is divided into three by these three plate-like bodies 16. As a result, as shown in FIG. 1B, the coating head 12 is formed with a first hair material group 15A, a second hair material group 15B, and a third hair material group 15C. Each of the hair material groups 15A, 15B, 15C extends in the longitudinal direction of the coating head 12.

In each bristle material group 15A, 15B, 15C, the mascara medicine can be stored between the bristle materials 15. Therefore, each hair material group 15A, 15B, 15C has a function as an application part 17 having an application function of a mascara drug. Since each hair material group 15A, 15B, 15C extends in the longitudinal direction of the coating head 12, as described above, each coating portion 17 made of these hair material groups also extends in the longitudinal direction of the coating head 12. .

On the other hand, the plate-like body 16 located between the application parts 17 is configured to be as hard as or equal to or more than the application part 17. The hard plate-like body mentioned here means that the plate-like body is difficult to bend. Therefore, when the mascara medicine is applied to the eyelashes using the mascara applicator 10 of the present embodiment, the plate-like body 16 that is configured to be difficult to bend scrapes the mascara medicine once applied to the eyelashes by the application unit 17. Will take. That is, the plate-like body 16 functions as a mascara drug scraping portion 18. Since each plate-like body 16 extends in the longitudinal direction of the coating head 12 as described above, each scraping portion 18 made of each plate-like body 16 also extends in the longitudinal direction of the coating head 12.

As described above, in the coating head 12, the mascara drug application portion 17 and the mascara drug scraping portion 18 both extend in the longitudinal direction of the coating head 12. The application unit 17 and the scraping unit 18 are alternately arranged in parallel along the circumferential direction of the application head 12.

FIGS. 2A to 2E show a method for applying a mascara drug using the applicator 10 shown in FIGS. 1A and 1B. First, as shown in FIG. 2A, the applicator in which the mascara medicine is stored in the application unit 17 of the application head 12 is made to approach the eyelashes from below the eyelashes. Next, as shown in FIG. 2B, the eyelashes are inserted between the hair materials 15 of the application unit 17. In this state, as shown in FIG. 2C, the application head 12 is moved upward to apply the mascara drug stored between the hair materials 15 of the application unit 17 to the eyelashes. In this state, the mascara drug is applied not only to the lower side of the eyelashes but also to the upper side. Next, while moving the coating head 12 upward by the operation shown in FIG. 2 (c), the coating head 12 is rotated around the axis from below the eyelashes to above the eyelashes as shown in FIG. 2 (d). Let By this rotating operation, the scraping unit 18 in the coating head 12 scrapes off the mascara drug applied to the lower side of the eyelashes. Since this rotation operation is an operation that moves the fingertips a little with little movement of the arm, the mascara applicator can be operated stably. As a result, the mascara drug can be scraped off without the eyelashes newly touching the application part. Thereby, as shown in FIG.2 (e), a chemical | medical agent is unevenly distributed to the upper side of an eyelash.

As described above, the mascara drug applied to the lower side of the eyelashes is forcibly scraped off by the scraping unit 18, so that the occurrence of lumps is suppressed even if the drug is applied repeatedly. Therefore, the finish of application of the mascara drug is improved. In particular, a mascara drug having a high drying speed tends to easily generate lumps. However, the scraping unit 18 forcibly scrapes off the moths so that the mascara drug having a high drying rate can be suppressed. In addition, the mascara drug is unevenly distributed on the upper side of the eyelashes by this scraping, so that the eyelashes can be made into a beautiful curl shape curved upward.

The mascara drug with a fast drying speed (drying time) is a transfer property when the mascara drug is applied onto a glass plate with a coater having a spacer of 10 μm, covered with a copy sheet, and a weighing weight of 100 g is placed thereon. It is measured every second, and when the time when transferability is not recognized is defined as the drying time, the drying time is within 2 minutes under the condition of 23 ° C. and 65% RH.

From the viewpoint of further ensuring the above effect, the thickness of the hair material 15 in the application part 17 is preferably 50 to 160 μm, particularly 75 to 130 μm, expressed in diameter. The number 1 to 10 present / mm 2 of the bristles 15, to be particularly 1-5 present / mm 2, from the viewpoint of capable of storing a sufficient amount of mascara agent between the bristles 15. The length of the hair material 15 is preferably 1 to 4 mm, particularly 2 to 3 mm from the core material, from the viewpoint of operability.

On the other hand, it is preferable that the plate-like body 16 constituting the scraping portion 18 is made of plastic or metal from the viewpoint of exhibiting a sufficient scraping effect. As described above, the scraping portion 18 is configured to be more flexible than the application portion 17 or more than that. Specifically, the difficulty of bending of the application part 17 and the scraping part 18 is measured by the method described below.

[Measuring method of index of difficulty in bending of application unit 17 and scraping unit 18]
Using a tensile tester (Tensilon), measure the load when an iron probe having a sphere tip with a diameter of 5 mm is pushed into the application part or scraping part at a speed of 10 mm / min, and the value is difficult to bend. It is an index of safety. When the load is 5 g or more, it is determined that bending is difficult (hard), and when the load is less than 5 g, it is determined that bending is easy (soft).

From the viewpoint of more effectively scraping off the mascara drug by the scraping unit 18, the height of the scraping unit 18 adjacent to the coating unit 17 when the coating head 12 is viewed from the axial direction is determined by the scraping unit 18. It is preferable that the height is 1 to 1.2 times, particularly 1 to 1.1 times the height of the coating portion 17 adjacent to the coating portion 17.

3A and 3B show another form of the plate-like body 16 in the mascara applicator 10 shown in FIG. FIGS. 3A and 3B are enlarged views of the main part of the free end 16 </ b> F along the longitudinal direction of the plate-like body 16. In the form shown in FIGS. 3A and 3B, the free end 16F along the longitudinal direction of the plate-like body 16 has a waveform. Specifically, in FIG. 3A, the free end F has a sawtooth shape. In FIG. 3B, the free end F has a rectangular wave shape. Since the free end 16F of the plate-like body 16 has such a waveform, in addition to the effect of scraping off the mascara drug by the plate-like body 16, the effect of combing the eyelashes by the free end 16F of the waveform is also exhibited. . The corrugated portion may extend over the entire length of the free end F or may be a portion of the free end F.

From the viewpoint of further ensuring the above effect, the depth direction cut D is 0.3 to 1.5 mm, particularly 0.3 to 1 in the sawtooth free end F shown in FIG. 0.0 mm is preferred. The width W of the cut is preferably 0.4 to 1.2 mm, particularly preferably 0.6 to 1.2 mm. In FIG. 3 (a), the sawtooth triangle is truncated. The width S of the heel head is preferably 0.1 to 0.3 mm, particularly preferably 0.1 to 0.2 mm from the viewpoint of preventing the skin from being damaged.

In the rectangular wave-shaped free end F shown in FIG. 3B, the depth direction cut D is preferably 0.5 to 1 mm, particularly preferably 0.5 to 0.8 mm. The cut width W is preferably 0.5 to 1.5 mm, particularly preferably 0.5 to 1.0 mm. The width S of the upright portion located between the cut portions is preferably 0.1 to 0.3 mm, particularly preferably 0.2 to 0.3 mm.

A mascara cosmetic tool is provided by combining the mascara applicator 10 of this embodiment with a container containing a mascara drug. That is, this mascara cosmetic tool includes a container that contains a mascara drug, and the mascara applicator 10 in which the coating head 12 is immersed in the mascara drug. There is no restriction | limiting in particular in the kind of mascara chemical | medical agent apply | coated with the mascara applicator 10 of this embodiment, A conventionally well-known thing can be made into the object of application | coating. In particular, by using a mascara drug having a bending angle measured by the following method of 5 degrees or more, particularly 10 degrees or more in combination with the applicator 10 of the present embodiment, it is possible to impart a cleaner curl to the eyelashes. it can.

[Measurement method of bending angle]
As shown in FIG. 4A, a rectangular polyethylene terephthalate film having a width of 2 cm, a length of 5 cm, and a thickness of 75 μm (manufactured by Teijin DuPont Co., Ltd., Metinex S) is positioned at the center in the longitudinal direction. As shown in (b), a mascara drug having a solid content of 20% by weight over the width direction is applied by a coater having a width of 5 mm and a spacer of 500 μm to form a coating film M. The coating thickness after drying is, for example, 250 μm. The coating film M is allowed to stand for 12 hours in an environment of a temperature of 23 ° C. and a humidity of 50% RH. As shown in FIG.4 (c), the coating film M shrink | contracts by drying. After 12 hours, as shown in FIG. 4D, the bending angle θ of the film F is measured, and the value is taken as the bending angle.

The mascara drug having the above-mentioned bending angle has a large degree of contraction when applied to eyelashes and dried. By the way, as described above, when the mascara medicine is applied to the eyelashes using the applicator of this embodiment, the medicine is unevenly distributed on the upper side of the eyelashes. Therefore, if the unevenly distributed mascara drug has a large degree of shrinkage when dried, there is an advantage that the curl shape becomes more remarkable.

As the mascara drug having the above-mentioned bending angle, it contains a polymer (hereinafter referred to as polymer (A)) having a polymer occupancy change rate (ΔW) of 13% or more as defined below and water, and the polymer (A) The content is 3 to 50% by weight.

ΔW=W2−W1 (I)
[Change rate of polymer occupancy (ΔW)]
ΔW is the rate of change of the polymer occupancy from the film hardness of pencil hardness 2B to drying in the process of forming the polymer film, and is a value represented by the formula (I).
ΔW = W2−W1 (I)
Here, W1 and W2 were prepared by preparing an aqueous solution with a polymer concentration of 20% by weight, and applying it to an area of 11 cm × 20 cm with a thickness of 250 μm on each of two glass plates by using an applicator, 23 ° C., 65% RH Measure the change in weight of the coating film as it dries on one polymer-developed glass plate, measure the film hardness with the pencil hardness method, and the polymer film hardness is 2B pencil hardness. The polymer occupancy is calculated by the following formula to be W1 (%), and the polymer occupancy after 24 hours after coating (hereinafter referred to as after drying) is calculated by the following formula to be W2 (%).
W1 (%) = [Wp / W1t] × 100
W2 (%) = [Wp / W2t] × 100
(Wp is the weight of the polymer in the coating film at the time of application, W1t is the weight of the coating film when the pencil hardness is 2B, and W2t is the weight of the coating film after drying.)

As the polymer (A), any polymer having a polymer occupancy change rate (ΔW) as defined above of 13% or more can be used regardless of the composition and form of the polymer, but a polymer having ΔW of 13 to 35%. Is preferred, with 15-30% polymer being even more preferred.

Examples of the polymer (A) include acrylic polymers such as polymethacrylic acid or salts thereof, styrene polymers such as polystyrenesulfonic acid or salts thereof, and urethanes such as polyurethane, acrylic-polyurethane, polyester-polyurethane, and polyether-polyurethane. Based polymers and the like. Among these polymers, from the viewpoint of safety and polymer hardness, at least one constituent monomer unit selected from a polymer having at least one constituent monomer unit selected from methacrylic acid and a salt thereof, and styrenesulfonic acid and a salt thereof. A polymer having at least one constituent monomer unit selected from methacrylic acid and a salt thereof is more preferable. Examples of the salt include alkali metal salts, alkaline earth metal salts, ammonium salts and the like.

The weight average molecular weight (measured by GPC, converted to polyethylene glycol) of the polymer (A) is preferably 5,000 to 1,000,000, and more preferably 8,000 to 500,000. The polymer (A) can be used regardless of the form, such as an aqueous solution system, a water / alcohol mixed solution system, or an emulsion system.

The content of the polymer (A) in the mascara drug is 3% by weight or more from the viewpoint of giving good curl, 50% by weight or less from the viewpoint of easy use in terms of viscosity, and 3.5 to 50% by weight. Preferably, 3.5 to 40 weight% is further more preferable. Further, the content of water in the mascara drug is preferably 20 to 95% by weight, more preferably 30 to 90% by weight, and particularly preferably 40 to 80% by weight.

Next, another embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 5 (a) and 5 (b). Regarding the points that are not particularly described with respect to the present embodiment, the description of the above-described embodiment is applied as appropriate. 5A and 5B, the same members as those in FIGS. 1A and 1B are denoted by the same reference numerals.

In the applicator 10 of this embodiment, the application head 12 has a core member 14 extending in the longitudinal direction of the support shaft 11. The core member 14 has a columnar shape with a slightly thin tip. The core material 14 has a first surface 21 located on one side of the outer circumferential surface divided into two in the circumferential direction and a second surface 22 located on the other side. The cross section of the core material 14 is preferably circular or elliptical. In addition, when a cross section is an ellipse, it is preferable that the outer peripheral surface of the core material 14 is divided into 2 by a long axis, and the 1st surface 21 and the 2nd surface 22 are formed.

A number of comb-like projecting pieces 23 are erected on the first surface 21. When viewed from the axial direction of the core member 14, the protruding pieces 23 protrude radially. The protruding piece 23 has a columnar shape whose tip is rounded and slightly narrowed. The protruding piece 23 can be formed by, for example, integral molding together with the core material 14. The protruding pieces 23 have the same shape. The protruding pieces 23 are regularly arranged in a straight line at predetermined intervals along the longitudinal direction of the core member 14 to form a row. The rows are arranged in multiple rows at predetermined intervals along the circumferential direction of the core member 14. The interval between the protruding pieces 23 adjacent to each other in the longitudinal direction and the circumferential direction is set to a value such that the mascara drug can be sufficiently stored between the adjacent protruding pieces 23. By arranging the protruding pieces 23 in this way, the first surface 21 side of the application head 12 is the application part 17 for the mascara drug.

The columnar protruding piece 23 has a height of 0.5 to 2 mm, particularly 1.0 to 1.5 mm, and the operability is improved, and a sufficient amount of mascara drug is placed between the protruding pieces 23. It is preferable from the point which can be stored. The thickness of the protruding piece 23 is preferably 0.2 to 1 mm, particularly 0.3 to 0.4 mm in terms of diameter, from the viewpoint of improving operability. When the thickness of the protruding piece 23 is not uniform in the height direction, the diameter is the value at the thickest part. A sufficient amount of the mascara agent that the interval between the adjacent protruding pieces 23 is 0.3 to 1 mm, particularly 0.4 to 0.8 mm, in both the longitudinal direction and the width direction of the first surface 21. Is preferable because it can be stored between the protruding pieces 23. For the same reason, the number of projecting pieces 23 per unit area of the first surface 21 is preferably 1 to 5 / mm 2 , particularly 2 to 4 / mm 2 . The interval between the adjacent protruding pieces 23 may be the same or different in the longitudinal direction and the circumferential direction of the first surface 21.

Hair material 24 is densely planted on the second surface 22. The dense planting referred to here means that the hair material 24 is planted at a high density that prevents the mascara medicine from being stored between the hair materials 24. One end of the bristle material 24 is coupled to the second surface 22 of the core member 14 and stands up from the second surface 22. The bristle material 24 is coupled to the core material 14 by mechanical flocking or electrostatic flocking. Since the hair material 24 is implanted in this way, the second surface 22 side of the application head 12 is a mascara drug scraping portion 18.

From the viewpoint of effectively scraping off the mascara drug, when the hair material 24 is densely planted by mechanical flocking, the diameter of the hair material 24 is preferably 50 to 200 μm, particularly 70 to 160 μm, and the length Is preferably 0.5 to 4 mm, particularly preferably 0.5 to 2.0 mm, and the number of hair materials 24 per unit area is 4 to 20 / mm 2 , particularly 4 to 10 / mm 2 , especially 4 It is preferably ˜8 / mm 2 . When the hair material 24 is densely planted by electrostatic flocking, the diameter of the hair material 24 is preferably 20 to 80 μm, particularly preferably 30 to 50 μm, and the length is 0.1 to 2 mm, particularly 0.5 to 0.5 μm. It is preferably 2 mm, particularly 0.7 to 1.5 mm, and the number of hair materials per unit area is preferably 10 to 500 / mm 2 , particularly preferably 10 to 100 / mm 2 .

6 (a) and 6 (b) show a method of applying a mascara drug using the applicator 10 shown in FIGS. 5 (a) and 5 (b). First, as shown to Fig.6 (a), the applicator which the mascara medicine stored in the application part 17 of the application head 12 is made to approach an eyelash from the downward direction of an eyelash. Then, the eyelashes are inserted between the protruding pieces 23 of the application unit 17. Under this condition, the application head 12 is moved upward to apply the mascara drug stored between the protruding pieces 23 of the application unit 17 to the eyelashes.

After the mascara medicine is applied to the eyelashes in this way, the application head 12 is then rotated 180 degrees as shown in FIG. Then, the scraping unit 18 in the application unit 12 is pressed against the eyelashes, and the application head 12 is moved upward in this state to scrape off the medicine applied to the lower side of the eyelashes. Thereby, the mascara drug becomes unevenly distributed on the upper side of the eyelashes.

As mentioned above, although this invention was demonstrated based on the preferable embodiment, this invention is not restrict | limited to the said embodiment. For example, in the above-described embodiment, the hair material 15 and the columnar protruding piece 23 are used as the mascara drug application portion 17, but instead, on the circumferential surface of the columnar shaft, the direction intersecting the shaft is used. It is also possible to use a coating section in which a large number of groove sections extending in the form of, for example, a groove section that draws the locus of a coil is formed and the mascara drug is stored in the groove section.

In addition, the combination of the application unit 17 and the scraping unit 18 is not limited to the above-described embodiment, and for example, an application unit including a comb-like protruding piece or a groove and a scraping unit including a plate-like body may be combined. Or you may combine the application part which consists of the bristle material 15, and the scraping part which consists of the hair material 24 closely planted.

Moreover, when the combination of an application part and a scraping part is counted as a pair, it is preferable to arrange the combination of an application part and a scraping part in a range from a pair to four pairs in the circumferential direction of the applicator.

Furthermore, the applicator of the present invention is particularly suitable for applying a mascara drug to eyelashes, but it can also be used to apply drugs and cosmetics on the eyebrows and hairline, for example.

Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in more detail with reference to examples. However, the scope of the present invention is not limited to such examples.

The mascara drug X and the mascara drug Y used in Examples and Comparative Examples described below were prepared by heating each component shown in Table 1 below to the melting point of the wax and then stirring and mixing them uniformly. In addition, the highly shrinkable polymer mix | blended with the mascara medicine Y was prepared with the following method.

[Preparation of highly shrinkable polymer to be blended with mascara drug]
A glass reaction vessel is charged with 300 g of methacrylic acid (manufactured by Wako Pure Chemical Industries, Ltd.), 1.5 L of ethanol, and 1.73 g of a polymerization initiator V-65 (manufactured by Wako Pure Chemical Industries, Ltd.), and polymerized at 65 ° C. for 4 hours. did. The obtained polymer solution was dropped into 20 L of acetone for reprecipitation. The precipitate was collected, dried under reduced pressure at 65 ° C. for 12 hours or more, and adjusted to pH 6 with a caustic soda to obtain polymethacrylic acid (hereinafter referred to as PMAA). The resulting PMAA had a weight average molecular weight (measured by GPC, converted to polyethylene glycol) of 180,000. The ΔW of this PMAA was 21. The rate of change in polymer occupancy (ΔW) is a value that represents the rate of change in the amount of polymer occupancy from when the film hardness reaches 2B pencil pencil until the film dries.

The protruding pieces 23 had a height of 1.5 mm, a diameter of 0.4 mm, and the number of protruding pieces 23 per unit area was 4 / mm 2 . The hair material 24 made of nylon resin was densely planted on the second surface 22 of the core material 14 by electrostatic flocking. The length of the hair material 24 was 1.0 mm, and the diameter was 0.05 mm. The number of hair materials 17 per unit area was 50 / mm 2 . The index of difficulty in bending of the application part was 3.5 g, and the index of difficulty in bending of the scraping part was 20 g. The mascara drug used for the application was a mascara drug Y containing the high-shrinkage PMAA listed in Table 1.

[Comparative Example 1]
A screw brush was obtained by twisting a plurality of brush fiber bundles (bristle materials) with a metal core wire while spirally twisting them. The diameter of the hair material 15 in the coating head was 100 μm, the length from the center of the core material was 2.5 mm, and the density was 4 / mm 2 . The mascara drug used for application was mascara drug X containing the high-shrinkage PMAA listed in Table 1.

Example 3
In Example 1, the same conditions were used except that mascara drug X blended with the low-shrinkage PAA listed in Table 1 was used as the mascara drug used for coating.

[Comparative Example 2]
In Comparative Example 1, the same conditions were used except that the mascara drug Y blended with the low-shrinkage PAA listed in Table 1 was used as the mascara drug used for coating.

Using the mascara applicator obtained in Examples and Comparative Examples, mascara drug was applied to eyelashes for 10 panelists. Application | coating operation was performed in the following procedure. A mascara container containing a mascara drug with a squeezing valve (diameter: 4.5 mm) is prepared, and the mascara applicator obtained in the examples and comparative examples is immersed in the mascara drug in the mascara container. Since the applicator passes through a squeeze valve that is set when the applicator is pulled up from the container, the excess mascara drug is scraped off and the amount of the mascara drug stored in the applicator is adjusted. The applicator in the above state was applied to the eyelashes by a method of scooping up the eyelashes from below.

The degree of curling of the eyelashes to which the mascara drug was applied and the cleanliness of the finish (prevention of lumps) were evaluated by the average number of times of mascara application and the number of lumps described below.

[Average number of applications]
The number of times of application was determined by applying mascara to the panel by the above-mentioned method until the panel was satisfied with a curl degree, and the number of times of application was interviewed from the panel. And the average value of the application frequency of 10 panelists was defined as the average application frequency. The average number of coatings was evaluated in four stages according to the following criteria, and the results are shown in Table 2.

A: The average number of applications is 1-5 times. O: The average number of applications is 6-10 times. Δ: The average number of applications is 11-15 times. X: The average number of applications is 16 times or more.

[Method of measuring the number of lumps]
Take a picture of the eyelashes after applying the mascara applied until the panelists are satisfied. A range of 1 cm 2 was arbitrarily selected from a photograph with a magnification of 20 times, and a mass of a mascara drug of 30 μm or more was regarded as the number of lumps, and an average value of the number of dams of 10 panelists was obtained. The measured number of lumps was evaluated in four levels according to the following criteria, and the results are shown in Table 2.
