Description

  The application part 24 has a structure called a so-called screw-type brush. Specifically, the application unit 24 includes a core material made of a wire and a hair material held by the core material. The hair material protrudes from the periphery of the core material. When viewed from the axial direction of the core material, the hair material projects radially. The bristle material is held on the core material by spirally twisting a plurality of brush fiber bundles made of, for example, a thermoplastic resin while sandwiching them with two metal core wire materials (not shown). However, the structure of the application part 24 is not limited to a screw-type brush, and various structures used as an application part of a mascara brush can be employed.   The pressing portion 25 has a plate-like base 26 extending in the longitudinal direction of the second support shaft 23. The base 26 is made of a lightweight material such as a thermoplastic resin, a thermosetting resin, or an elastomer resin. The base 26 has a vertically long and narrow trapezoidal shape in plan view. That is, the base 26 is gradually thinner (narrower) toward the tip. The base 26 has an arch shape curved along the longitudinal direction of the base 26. At the same time, the base 26 is flat in the width direction of the base 26. Furthermore, the thickness of the base 26 is reduced toward the tip.

  The base 26 in the shape of an arch-shaped plate has a first surface 27 and a second surface 28 located on the opposite side. The first surface 27 is a convex surface curved in a convex shape along the longitudinal direction of the base 26. On the other hand, the second surface 28 is a concave surface curved in a concave shape along the longitudinal direction of the base 26. The first surface 27 that is a convex surface and the second surface 28 that is a concave surface are complementary to each other.

  As described above, the base 26 is flat with respect to the width direction, but instead, the base 26 may be slightly curved with respect to the width direction in a range that can be regarded as being substantially flat. Specifically, the first surface 27 side of the base 26 may be curved slightly convex toward the outside in the width direction. Similarly, the second surface 28 side of the base 26 may be slightly concavely curved inward in the width direction. Regarding this curvature, the radius of curvature of each of the first surface 27 side and the second surface 28 side is preferably 3 mm or more, more preferably 5 mm or more, and even more preferably 7.5 mm or more. The curvature radii on the first surface 27 side and the second surface 28 side may be the same or different.

A bristle material 29 is densely planted on both the first surface 27 and the second surface 28 of the base 26. The dense planting referred to here is a high density that prevents the eyelashes from easily entering between the hair materials 29 when the first surface 27 side and the second surface 28 side are pressed against the eyelashes, and / or hairs. It means that the hair material 29 is planted at a high density so that the mascara drug is not easily stored between the materials 29.   The bristle material 29 erected on the surfaces 27 and 28 of the base 26 has a length of 0.5 to 2 mm, particularly 0.5 to 1.8 mm, so that the eyelashes can be pressed successfully.
