Description

The present invention relates to a hot melt pressure-sensitive adhesive composition for capturing harmful small animals. More specifically, a hot-melt adhesive for capturing harmful small animals, including a styrenic thermoplastic elastomer that has excellent adhesive strength for capturing small organisms, specifically harmful insects such as cockroaches and flies, and harmful small animals such as mice. The agent composition.

Conventionally, as a means for capturing small organisms such as harmful insects such as cockroaches and flies and small harmful animals such as mice, a trap with a sticky composition coated on a support such as cardboard or plastic sheet is used. The method of installing on the path of organisms and capturing the sticky is also common from the viewpoint of handling and hygiene.

As an adhesive composition for capturing small animals, even in small animals with strong leg strength, such as mice, the adhesive performance and the leg that do not pull out the legs when stepped on the adhesive layer coated with the adhesive composition. The following performance is important. In addition, the coating workability such as temperature and melt viscosity when applying the pressure-sensitive adhesive composition to the support is good, and the pressure-sensitive adhesive composition flows out during storage, transportation, and use of the trap. It is necessary that the flow resistance in consideration is good.

So far, various reports have been made on adhesive compositions used for capturing various small animals. For example, as a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition for capturing small animals that maintains its normal adhesive strength and flow-out prevention effect, and can also capture small animals that contain moisture on the body surface, such as wet mice, (a) 85 to 95% by weight of liquid rubber based on the total pressure-sensitive adhesive composition. (B) 1-8% by weight of the entire pressure-sensitive adhesive composition of a rubber-like organic polymer compound that is soluble in the liquid rubber and has a viscosity average molecular weight of 10,000 to 2,500,000. (C) 1-8% by weight of the total pressure-sensitive adhesive composition of graft copolymer in which ethylene polymer segment and vinyl polymer segment are bonded. A pressure-sensitive adhesive composition obtained by blending is reported in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 11-349402. With this pressure-sensitive adhesive composition for capturing small animals, the initial pressure-sensitive adhesiveness, flow resistance, and workability are extremely low. However, the cohesive force is inevitably reduced due to the blended components. Therefore, when a small animal or the like steps into the adhesive layer and greatly raises the leg to escape, the stress decreases in inverse proportion to the lifting distance of the foot, and as a result, the small animal such as a large mouse can escape. Has occurred.

In addition, as an adhesive composition for capturing small organisms excellent in capture rate, capture performance maintenance, etc., (i) ABA type styrene having a weight average molecular weight of 50,000 to 500,000 and a styrene content of 10 to 30 mol% -Diene block copolymer. (ii) A tackifying resin having a softening point of 65 ° C or higher. (iii) A tackifying resin that is liquid at 25 ° C. (iv) Liquid polybutene having a number average molecular weight of 200 to 2500. The pressure-sensitive adhesive composition obtained by blending (ii) 50 to 150 parts by weight, (iii) 5 to 50 parts by weight, and (iv) 10 to 100 parts by weight with respect to (i) 100 parts by weight. As reported in JP-A No. 2001-157539, this pressure-sensitive adhesive composition tends to have high hardness due to the blending components, although good adhesiveness can be obtained. Therefore, although it is very good at capturing cockroaches and small organisms with small power, when it is aimed at capturing small animals such as mice, the sticky layer is hard, so the small animals that stepped on the adhesive layer The contact area between the leg and the adhesive layer is small, and the tangling to the leg is very small. Therefore, it is not suitable for capturing small animals that have strong leg strength and a long leg lifting distance.

Furthermore, the conventional pressure-sensitive adhesive composition for capturing small animals has been improved mainly for the purpose of improving the cohesive strength in order to improve the capturing performance, so that the melt viscosity becomes high and the workability is not good.
Thus, the present condition is that the adhesive composition which has all the said performance calculated | required for capturing small animals is not yet reported.

According to the present invention, a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition for capturing a small animal is provided that has excellent tackiness and followability and is excellent in capture rate and capture performance.
According to the present invention, it has flow resistance equivalent to that of a commercially available adhesive composition for capturing small animals, has good workability and excellent capture performance for small animals, and is difficult to capture with conventional adhesive compositions. It is possible to provide a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition for capturing small animals that exhibits excellent capture performance even against wet mice.

Hereinafter, embodiments of the hot melt pressure-sensitive adhesive composition for capturing small animals of the present invention will be described in detail.
The conventional adhesive composition for capturing small animals basically uses polybutene and polyisobutylene, butyl rubber, or low molecular weight or medium molecular weight elastomer, so the cohesive force is low and small animals etc. step into the adhesive layer and escape. When trying to do so, there was a problem that the stress decreased remarkably as the lifting distance of the foot increased, and thus escaped. However, when other high molecular weight elastomers are used, there has been a problem that the capture performance of small animals is impaired due to a rise in melt viscosity and a decrease in adhesiveness. The present invention improves the drawbacks of these conventionally known adhesive compositions for capturing small animals.

That is, the present invention is a hot melt pressure-sensitive adhesive for catching small animals, which has a stress of 0.15 kg or less when pushed 15 mm at room temperature, an elongation of 60 mm or more when pulled and a stress of 0.05 kg or more when pulled 60 mm. A composition is provided.
Furthermore, the hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesive composition for capturing small animals, in which the stress when the hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesive composition is pulled up by 80 mm at room temperature is 0.10 Kg or more, is a preferred embodiment.

In order to obtain a hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesive composition for capturing small animals that exhibits the above characteristics, it is preferable to select a styrene-based thermoplastic elastomer, preferably a styrene-based elastomer having a high molecular weight, as the base polymer constituting it. A hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesive composition containing a styrene-based thermoplastic elastomer, which has a stress of 0.15 kg or less at 15 mm indentation, an elongation of 60 mm or more at room temperature, and a stress of 0. A hot melt pressure-sensitive adhesive composition for capturing small animals that is greater than or equal to 05 kg is a preferred embodiment of the present invention.

The pressure-sensitive adhesive composition having a stress of 0.15 Kg or more, such as a conventional pressure-sensitive adhesive composition for capturing small animals, is too hard, so when a small animal steps on the adhesive layer with its own weight, The pressure-sensitive adhesive composition is not entangled, and sufficient tackiness cannot be secured due to a lack of contact area. On the other hand, in the hot melt pressure-sensitive adhesive composition of the present invention, the foot sinks into the pressure-sensitive adhesive composition when a small animal steps into the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer because the stress when pressed 15 mm is very soft at 0.15 kg or less. The pressure-sensitive adhesive composition adheres not only to the sole but also to the side of the foot, and the contact area can be increased. This makes it possible to capture wet mice that were difficult to capture with conventional pressure-sensitive adhesive compositions due to dirt such as moisture and oil.

In addition, in the conventional adhesive composition for capturing small animals, the stress decreases remarkably as the pulling distance increases, so that when a small animal that steps into the adhesive layer tries to escape, it can follow the movement of the foot. However, the hot melt pressure-sensitive adhesive composition of the present invention can catch a small animal without escaping since the elongation at the time of pulling is 60 mm or more.

Furthermore, in the conventional adhesive composition for capturing small animals, the cohesive force of the adhesive composition is small, so the strength when pulled up is low, and it is not possible to give enough resistance to the small animals trying to escape, and the small animals are captured. However, in the hot melt pressure-sensitive adhesive composition of the present invention, since the stress when pulled up by 60 mm is 0.05 kg or more, small animals can be captured.

Regarding the strength at the time of pulling up, the conventional small animal capturing pressure-sensitive adhesive composition also had a high initial strength, but the conventional small animal capturing pressure-sensitive adhesive composition has a strength as the lifting distance becomes longer. There was a tendency to drop rapidly, and this caused the small animals that stepped into the adhesive layer to escape. The hot melt pressure-sensitive adhesive composition of the present invention has an adhesive strength equivalent to that of a conventional pressure-sensitive adhesive composition for capturing small animals, and is designed so as to increase the pulling strength with increasing pulling distance.

Conventional pressure-sensitive adhesive compositions for capturing small animals have a limited amount of softening agent in order to develop cohesive force, resulting in lack of flexibility. If the pressure-sensitive adhesive composition is flexible, the contact area with the foot of a small animal is increased as described above, and the capture performance of the small animal is dramatically improved.
In the present invention, by using a high molecular weight base polymer, a relatively large amount of a softening agent can be blended, and the cohesive force, flow resistance and workability required for a small animal capturing adhesive composition are maintained. The present inventors have succeeded in imparting flexibility that was not expressed in the conventional adhesive composition for capturing small animals.

That is, the hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesive composition for capturing small animals of the present invention increases the contact area between the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer and the feet of small animals due to the flexibility not found in conventional pressure-sensitive adhesive compositions for capturing small animals, and has high adhesive strength. In addition, it is possible to follow without being peeled off from the foot of a small animal trying to escape due to the cohesive force, and to capture the small animal once stepped on the adhesive layer so as not to escape.

In the present invention, “stress at the time of 15 mm indentation”, “elongation at the time of pulling up”, and “stress at the time of pulling up by 60 mm”, which are evaluation items of the hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesive composition, can be measured according to the following measurement methods. As a measurement method, JIS Z 0237: Adhesive tape / adhesive sheet test method was used as a reference, and a partly modified one was used so that the stress at the time of pressing and the strength / elongation at the time of pulling could be measured. Details of the method are as follows.

A test piece was prepared by filling a hot melt pressure-sensitive adhesive composition into a cylinder having an inner diameter of 27 mm and a height of 20 mm, and a stainless steel cylinder having a diameter of 10 mm and a length of 60 mm was pushed into the test piece by 15 mm at a test speed of 100 mm / min. Thereafter, the stress and elongation are measured immediately by a method of pulling up at a test speed of 100 mm / min. The stress when the cylinder was pushed into the test piece by 15 mm was taken as the stress at the time of pushing, and the strength and the pulling distance when the cylinder was pulled up from the test piece were taken as the stress and elongation at the time of pulling up. An outline of the measurement method is shown in FIG.

(Examples 1-3, Comparative Examples 1-4)
The compounding components described in Table 1 were mixed at the ratios shown in Tables 1 and 2, and kneaded for 1 hour in a 180 ° C. kneader to prepare each adhesive composition. The physical properties of the obtained pressure-sensitive adhesive composition were measured. The results are shown in Table 1.

Figure 2008075022
Figure 2008075022

As shown in Table 1, each of Examples 1 to 3 has a small animal capturing performance. Among them, Example 1 has a weaker strength when pushed in compared with Example 2 with less softening agent, so that when the small animal steps on the adhesive composition, the area in contact with the foot of the small animal is wide. This greatly contributes to the capture of small animals that could not be captured by conventional adhesive compositions due to soiling of the feet of small animals due to moisture, oil, and the like. Example 3 is weaker than that of Example 1, but is weaker in pulling strength due to the small amount of tackifying resin, and weaker in capturing small animals.

In Comparative Example 1, since the blending amount of the softening agent is very small as compared with Examples 1 to 3, the cohesive force is too strong, and the response at the time of pressing is very high and lacks flexibility. Moreover, since the compounding amount of tackifying resin is also small, the adhesiveness of the surface is insufficient, and it is impossible to measure peeling from the cylinder when measuring the pulling strength. This means that when the small animal steps on the adhesive layer, the area in contact with the feet of the small animal is small, and sufficient adhesion performance cannot be obtained. In addition, due to insufficient followability when a small animal pulls up its leg to escape, it is inferior in capturing performance of the small animal and has a very high melt viscosity, which causes a problem in workability. In Comparative Example 2, compared with Examples 1 to 3, the blending amount of the softening agent is very large. Therefore, although the stress during pushing is low, the stress during pulling is small. This means that when the small animal steps into the adhesive and tries to escape, it cannot give sufficient resistance to the small animal and is inferior in capturing performance of the small animal. Moreover, since it is a compounding system in which the amount of the softening agent is too large, it is deficient in drooping property and sags even at room temperature, so that there is a problem in the shape retention performance during product storage.

In Comparative Example 3 containing butyl rubber as a main component, the pulling strength suddenly decreased as the pulling distance increased, causing the small animals to escape. Comparative Example 4, which is mainly composed of a styrene block copolymer, is excellent in tackiness, but has a small blending amount of the liquid material, so that the pressure-sensitive adhesive composition lacks flexibility, and therefore has an indentation strength. Is expensive. Therefore, when a small animal with a small weight steps on the adhesive layer, the area that contacts the small animal's feet is small, so that sufficient adhesion performance cannot be obtained and it cannot follow the lifting of the leg. Moreover, it is inferior to small animal capture performance. Moreover, melt viscosity is high and workability | operativity, such as a fusion | melting and application | coating process, is bad.

On the other hand, in Examples 1 to 3, the stress at the time of pushing is small, the pulling strength becomes strong as the pulling distance becomes long, and the capture rate is good. As described above, Examples 1 to 3 are entangled with the foot of a small animal by the synergistic effect of its flexibility (weak pushing strength) and high agglomeration force (lifting strength and elongation), and follow the foot of the moving small animal and do not miss it. As described above, it can be seen that Examples 1 to 3 are blended and designed so that the balance of small animal capture performance, application workability, and sagability is balanced.

(Examples 4-6, Comparative Examples 5-7)
Regarding the pressure-sensitive adhesive composition obtained in Example 1, the relationship between the indentation distance and the indentation stress, and the relationship between the pulling distance and the pulling stress were set at a temperature of 23 ° C. (Example 4), 40 ° C. (Example 5), and 0 ° C. The results measured in Example 6) are shown in FIGS. 2, 3 and 4, respectively.
Moreover, about the adhesive composition obtained in Comparative Example 3, the relationship between the indentation distance and the indentation stress was similarly determined at temperatures of 23 ° C. (Comparative Example 5), 40 ° C. (Comparative Example 6), and 0 ° C. (Comparative Example 7). The measurement results are shown in FIGS. 2, 3 and 4 respectively.
2 to 4, in Examples 4 to 6, the indentation stress is low compared to Comparative Examples 5 to 7, and in the lifting stress, in the comparative example, the lifting stress is large when the lifting distance is small. However, it can be seen that the pulling stress rapidly decreases as the distance increases, whereas in the example, the pulling stress increases as the pulling distance increases and maintains a large pulling stress for a considerable distance. This indicates that the adhesive composition of the example easily captures a small animal and does not easily escape.
